If you would like to ask me any questions directly and live, or be one step ahead of the meta check out my stream at http://www.twitch.tv/sigmasrb at 5 PM CEST almost every day and follow the feeds on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/sigmasrb or Twitter - https://twitter.com/sigmasrb for all news! I will try to stream at this time in between 3-5 days a week where I will be playing all of my decks posted here plus some other ones.

Hey guys Sigma here, a 6-time Legend, deck architect and guide writer from Serbia and today I am presenting you the updated version of my old Dragon Priest as a lot of awesome dragons have been released plus the Wyrmrest Agent for priest which basically put the priest far ahead of any other classes when it comes to dragons!

I am happy to say that right now my score with this deck is 42 - 11 (30-8 beforehand) and the games have been easy to very easy. The synergy the dragons received this season is just ridicilous and seems to me like fruits ready to be picked.
UPDATE: Played it again on my last stream (http://www.twitch.tv/sigmasrb/v/16191043) and went 12-3, which still holds it on around 81% of wins in total, also on rank 4 to rank 2.

I have made some more TGT decks, and one of them is a dragon based deck as this one and that is my Dragon warrior

If the deck reaches 50 upvotes, I will write out one of the SigGuides for it, which will probably be even more detailed than ever as I got some new ideas! The only reason that I am setting up this goal is to motivate you guys motivate me motivate you (how many motivates is that?o.O) and to know that you guys like the deck enough for me to write out details for the gameplay! Until the guide has been reached, I will write out "trial" versions of the three guide parts I find most important.

Disclaimer: The video has just been uploaded, it requires a bit of time for Youtube to render it fully, so I apologize for the bad quality of the video.

If you would like to see me play with a specific class in the video and would like to skip to that the times of when I played against what are:

0:00 Combo druid - Win
15:36 Control Warrior - Win
31:21 Dragon Priest - Win
43:37 Secret Paladin - Win
52:26 Face Hunter - Win
58:33 Secret Paladin - Win

Mulligan:

Both against aggro and control the mulligan is the same, go for the 1 or 2 mana minions, the only difference is if you have the coin or not, therefore:

with coin: Northshire Cleric, Twilight Whelp, Wyrmrest Agent, Dark Cultist, Power Word: Shield, Velen's Chosen. (the last three keep if you have one of the previous cards)

without coin: Twilight Whelp, Wyrmrest Agent, Dark Cultist (last one only if you have the previous two, ditch otherwise).

NOTE: I also like to keep Holy Nova OR Lightbomb against paladins if I have a 1 or a 2 drop AND have the coin. I also keep Lightbomb against warriors if I have the coin.

Overall strategy:

For this short strategy guide I will just divide the gameplay into three sections, early, mid and late game and try to illustrate them to you and to explain what you should look out for to play.

In Early game is where this deck already starts distinguising from the rest, with the including of the new priest card, Wyrmrest Agent. You basically want to try and establish board control early on with the Twilight Whelps, Wyrmrest Agents and Dark Cultists, while in between them throwing out a Northshire cleric and fetching a card or two out of it. If you have only one Twilight Whelp in the hand, and no other dragons, skip the turn, because you can use that whelp to get out a Wyrmrest Agent for example. In the Early game pumping out minions should always be higher priority if you have them than getting out Northshire Cleric and using hero power. She should be used when there are at least two minions on the board which are damaged. Just try and stay on curve because you can always play that 2 mana minion on turn 4, instead of on turn 3 and wasting one mana.

Mid game is where you are supposed to crush your opponent with overwhelming board bodies and making good trades. Here, I have one big advice: Be aware of what AOE your opponent can throw at you: Against a priest don't leave a lot of minions on 2 HP because of Holy Nova, and TRY to have your minions immune to Lightbomb (for them to have more HP than attack), against a Control warrior try to keep your minion numbers ~3 on the board because of Brawl, against a druid by all means don't leave minions on 1 HP because of Swipe and so on... Playing second against a paladin on turn 6 can be instant GG if you pull of Vol'jin + Holy Smite combo on his Mysterious Challenger. Just make sure you pop all secrets first, your Vol'jin might even have 9 HP then. Also, unless you have lethal the turn after that, don't use the Blackwing Corruptor on face, the board impact that it gives you is too good to skip.

Late game should be pretty straight forward and not that different from the mid game. Try to keep good board control and from them on everyone knows that the face is the place. If you do get to have Power Word: Shield and Chromaggus in the hand as turn 8 comes around, and you don't have Ysera in your hand, I like to wait one more turn if I have the space and get instant value from Chrom with the PW:S. One more tip: NEVER BUFF YSERA WITH VELENS AGAINST A PRIEST. It puts her in the range of Shadow Word: Death

Card Replacements:

Dark Cultist/Blackwing Technician - Fjola Lightbane/Eydis Darkbane/Spider Tank
Vol'jin/Lightbomb –> Sylvanas Windrunner/Confessor Paletress
Twilight Guardian –> JUST. CRAFT. IT!
Chillmaw/Chromaggus/Ysera –> Nefarian/Rend Blackhand/Dr. Boom/Big Game Hunter/2. Blackwing Technician (Tech cards)

Rest of the BRM cards are unfortunately a must. Without them, this deck makes no sense.

FAQ

Why Mass Dispell?

The joker card of the deck. Nobody expects it and I believe the card has great potential in the meta as a lot of the tier 1 decks are relying on buffing minions in some way. First example is the biggest meta changer of TGT, the secret Paladin. After he takes out his Mysterious Challenger, you can easily silence everything that gets buffed by Avenge or even after Competetive Spirit. Silences Tirion Fordring as well. Secondly, Grim Patron. If he gets out a full board the silence might interupt quite a lot from his plans, maybe most importantly to make the Frothing Berserker a 2/4 again. Thirdly, it can silence anything that might present a problem like a Nerubian Egg/Voidcaller, anything buffed by a priest (Velen's Chosen/Power Word: Shield), destroy a Handlock if timed properly AND it rotates! One more card will never harm.

What should I craft first? Chillmaw, Ysera or Vol'jin?

I would say Ysera > Vol'jin > Chillmaw.
Simply because Ysera is a neutral and can be used for more decks than Chillmaw, and Vol'jin, no matter how awesome he is, can only be used for Priest. Chillmaw is a good card overall, but is replacable by other class spells.

I don't have any TGT cards, what should I craft first?

Twilight Guardian and Wyrmrest Agent are probably the most important from the bunch. as they give dragon priest the new edge in viability that it needed so direly.

What about Justicar Trueheart in this list?

Don't get me wrong, Justicar is a great card. Priest is probably the second class which got the best buff with it. But it makes this deck a control deck, which is something that I don't want. This is tempo at it's purest, pumping strong minions out and demolishing the board with them. Justicar would make that too passive.

What about Alexstrasza

I just don't think you will get any value from her Battlecry. If you are heavily behind it won't save you (unless you are up against decks which strongly depend on spending every turn to use every single possible attack point to damage your face, like face hunter) and as you will be pressuring your opponent during the entire game, using the Battlecry on your opponent won't bring you much, maybe lower 5-6 damage MAX.

17.12. EDIT: Changed the Wild Pyromancers for two Zombie Chows as they help against sticky early game minions like Shielded Minibot a lot and can help you establish tempo if you don't get the early game minions. Pyros were taken out as there aren't that many face hunters on the ladder at the moment. Mass Dispel was taken out for Dr. Boom for better late game survival. Blackwing Technician was taken out for Entomb. The last change can be ignored if you want to keep that tempoish approach on the deck.

Note: I am aware that there are quite a bit of dragon priests going around after TGT was released but I have had a dragon priest long before TGT, as I used to play a dragon priest three seasons ago and even have a deck here from back then. I am not saying I am the original dragon priest but I also haven't copied nobody's deck.

Also, any constructive criticism is more than welcome!

Cheers
