**Now on the homepage, thanks for the interest <3**
This is the deck Brian Kibler used in ATLC Finals.
UPDATE: Edited the deck according to the latest cards seen on the stream. Figured out he's using Chillmaw instead of Vol'jin, and Loatheb instead of 2nd Shadow Priest.
Edit: Same deck is being used in a French tournament today, so I'm pretty confident this is the correct version if a pro French player didn't netdeck from my submission :P
I hope you enjoy :)
it is too situational, looks good on paper but not in practice. You will be using your spells on minions to make favorable trades, or to keep them alive, and even if not you still have dragonkin sorcerer to use them on primarily. The value you get from Dark Cultist is too big anyway, when set up correctly it baits hard removal or silence on your buffed minion. So I wouldn't recommend it.
I tried it and she didn't proc'ed enough to be worth the Health bonus of Dark cultist. The only thing she did better was to bait Removal and silences, sometimes..
Considering the game is played on the internet only.... the game wouldn't exist either.
I think he is referring to the fact if noone copied a deck ever from someone else online. It would make the meta explosively different...for better or worst
Probably many people played this exact same deck before but didn't bother posting it here.
Isn't this the same Dragon Priest we see most of the time?
Usually Lightbomb, Loatheb and Chillmaw are not included
I've seen Chillmaw in these before
true, chillmaw was in very first kind of these decks, if i can say so..
Chillmaw is a must IMO to fight off those Secret Swarm Paladins. I usually played with it and sometimes Lightbomb too. I agree Loathed is a neat idea I didn't notice it was there.
I mean it's not like anyone was the very first to think of Chillmaw. It's kinda Obvious it should be there to improve your matchup against Secret Paladin and Patron Warrior.
Very smart to be the 1st to promote yourself with a pro's deck.
Still... What about replacing Loatheb with an Ooze? Improves the weapon match-ups, which are all bad. My last game against aggro pala, Ooze was my MVP, he even drew his entire deck with 2 Divine Favors but I broke his 4/2 weapon at the very end, securing the win. Not to speak about warrior, hunter and rogue, bad MUs for us (even the eventual Jaraxxus).
Before someone mentions Harrison, way too many 5-drops... That's also a reason for dropping Loatheb.
Loatheb fills a role that no other card can really fill. It completely shuts down spell heavy decks for a turn, protects your board from spell board wipes for a turn, or it can even help you keep a creature on the board without it getting removed unless the opponent suffers a big tempo loss.
I think the deck needs to keep the Loatheb for it's unique role.
usually a shrinkmeister or a shadow word pain is swapped out for acidic swamp ooze.
ps. ty for the hate
I"m really surprised he would take vol'join out of the deck I thought that was a staple for priests
Yeah, that's a tough call... Vol'jin is a great removal for big threats, one of the only against Ysera (as you'll rarely have the Cabal + Shrink combo)
Well it was build for the ATLC format, not ladder. He didn't really face off Ysera there.
I've been running Hungry Dragon over Dragonkin Sorcerer and I've found it to be a much better card in this deck. The 1 mana minion won't be able to get past your taunts, gives your opponent a minion that you can run into to take damage, then heal with Northshire, gives you a huge body for Northshire to heal, can trade with multiple minions or do big damage to face, its a 4 drop that baits removal protecting your later game minions, is insane if buffed with Velen's chosen, etc. It has virtually no drawback in my experience.
It's an interesting idea. I ran one in my initial Dragon Priest but after seeing Kolento's success with his I switched to his full list.
Worked great for a time but now I'm struggling again with it so.. might return to experimenting with other stuff
Oh yeah, Hungry Dragon has synergy with Cabal as well! Yet another reason to play it over Dragonkin lol.
a second holy nova or a shadow word: death would suit but lightbomb is quite unique and really needed in any priest deck
