This deck has now reached/received it's last, final changes and has now reached Legend rank and beyond. I want to personally thank everyone who helped with all the amazing feedback, videos and live streaming.
Thank you.
This deck is the most fun and enjoyable experience I've had in Hearthstone since pre-nerf changes in beta. This deck has everything a person wants that's looking for a efficient deck that can reach legend and above but most importantly, to have fun while doing so.
The RNG always mixes the deck up and you'll never know what type of game you'll have next time you play and yet it stays efficient even if so.
- Mulligan: Deck is mainly tempo so keep any early board control card or early board presence cards. Same applies for any type of match-up. [Mana Wyrm, Frostbolt, Unstable Portal, Mad Scientist, Sorcerer's Apprentice and even Flamewaker if you have coin]
- Combos: There are several combos within the deck. [Mana Wyrm + Spell, Rhonin + Archamge Antonidas and any type of Spell Damage,Flamewaker + Any spell, Effigy with any board presence and much more]
- Lategame: Rhonin combined with Archmage Antonidas should be a secure cycle for power and reach, for those control match-ups. Effigy with high cost drops combines extremely well. Nexus-Champion Saraad can win games alone if left un-checked.
- Cards to switch for meta Tech: If needed to swap/remove some cards for a different meta.[ Counterspell, Piloted Shredder and/or Polymorph. Polymorph is an excellent counter vs Secret decks and about every other high threat minion in the game of course so I would suggest, if needed, to remove it last. A cuple of tech changes could be i.e Replacing Counterspell with a Duplicate and replace any number of Piloted Shredders for Sludge Belcher or Antique Healbot. Low mana curve tech works as well, Flamecannon as an example. Some additional substitutes for Piloted Shredders are both Water Elemental and Mechanical Yeti. Those are both excellent cards and should be considered on equal footing as Shredders. It's more about your personal taste and playstyle.]
- Replacement: If your missing something like i.e Rhonin, look above and fill that slot with a tech card of your choice or something to fill the decks combination slot. And if you're brave enough or want to add a bit more "flare" to the RNG "fun" aspect, Spellslinger. Keep in mind, replacing to many cards makes it a different deck. Arcane Blast can be replaced by either Flamecannon or another Arance Missiles There is nothing wrong with running two Arcane Blasts if you prefer those over above suggestions.
NEW
- LoE: Since some questions and further interests has appeared I just want to make this clear. This deck is beyond a month old and as you know, a month is hearthstone is a lifetime in meta changes. The deck still does fairly well on ladder but I've done some minor changes to the current version I'm playing personally. I will list the bellow but I wont change it in the list, because of the decks age there is no reason to do so. Once again it reached legend ranks with these adjustments.
- 2 Fireball / +2 Forgotten Torch
- 2 Azure Drake / +2 Ethereal Conjurer
Good Luck and Have Fun!
((If you have any questions post bellow and I'll do my best to answer them, be sure to read through the comment section before you do and see if your question has already been answer through another comment, thank you.))
Krisofesarus was kind enough to do a deck spotlight for this deck, check it out bellow and be sure to leave him a follow as well(this video plays the 1.0 version, the deck is in final version 1.1 as of now). :)
Rhonin is great in the Control matchups, though it will suck versus the kind of Hunters and zoo.
I love the deck though I've been cycling through several (Malylock, Tempo Mage and Aggro Secredin). Tempo mage is definately one deck that has a fair chance against all specially due to fireball burst damage, and ability to freeze opponents.
I'm still around the water elemental/shredder/mech yeti debate. I do believe the optimal choice should be Yeti because of Antonidas of course, but Water Elemental is great in the hunter and paladin matches, which is a terrible matchup for the deck.
Also concerning your version, I wonder how does he fare vs hunter/paladin too, since they swarm the ladder. I play on rank 4 and so far I suffer i nthese matchups even with arcane missiles. Is flamestrike enough?
How important to the deck would you say that Nexus-Champion Saraad is? I have a few cards I can DE to make him but if he's not really that helpful I might just swap in something else for him.
Dont have saraad and rhonin, so I switched them out for 2 spellslingers. Might swap antonidas for rag then too, gotta see!
Hi Xedriell
Your adding a lot of RNG deepth to the deck by doing so, very brave of you to run 2 of those. As long your still having fun playing it. :)
Good luck and have fun Xedriell.
If you run double Spellslinger, I suggest you to run 2 counterspell instead of Effigy.
Thank you :)
Peace,
got to legend with CW and Tempo-Mage and i like to say something to all the rhonin critics.Im already Rank 3 with an close-to-this tempo list (-saraad,-sheep,-shredders-1x effigy +2 mech yetis +2 arcane blast +1 flamecannon). And rhonin is basically what wins me the games against classes that you sometimes cant rush down (Dragonpriest for example) he's also strong vs, druid and control warrior.I can tell that i woudnt have made it to rank 3 so far without rhonin. Its more about how you play it instead of smashing him in turn 8 (okey i have card draw in my tempo deck so i can somehow not "just smash" everything on the board). If you got thaurassian you can decently chain him afterwards.Take him as a silence bait, play him before dr. boom if bgh is expected.Dont wait for antonidas if you can geht the missiles out with an azure drake or flamewaker. You also have to be aware what your opponent plays in the next turn.(vs secret pala it is often decent to coin apprentice to arcane blast their secretkeeper in turn 1).Its not about vomiting the cards into board, it's about the right moment to vomit your cards into board.go for weak turns of your enemy to estblish board control!(Vs druid its weak if he doenst have a good 4 turn, get board, maybe flamewaker to crush claw, or especially against druid, use your mirror entitiy right).Honestly is saw a lot of people getting rekt by getting a darnassus aspirant copied, well if you play mirror in turn 4 or 6 he has to play the darnassus aspirant instead of claw, boom,or lore, so you still get value. If you have a decent gameread and some common sense its really not a big thing to get to high ranks with this deck, especially with rhonin in it.
Hi Dondenzo.
Thanks for the feedback and I really enjoy reading up on someone else personal experience. I haven't got the Darnassus Mirror nightmare yet, though I guess my time will come soon.
Thank you Don.
Do you believe that Harrison Jones has a fit on this deck? Maybe instead of Nexus-Champion Saraad ?
Hi FranketT
It depends on the meta, if there is heavy weapon use you could always replace a card of you tech choosing. Personally I will never remove Nexus-Champion Saraad. He has won me several games through crazy combinations of spell no one is able to play around. That said, he has also given 0 value from time to time. It's an high chance you get a card that can be used rather than nothing though. This is my personal opinion though, I think Nexus is one of the most underrated cards in the TGT set.
Good Luck Franket.
Thanks for the reply, i also think that Nexus-Champion Saraad is a good TGT card but just lucking of dust atm that's why i thought about this replacement! Cheers
like the deck, but i think Water elemental is better than shredder in the current meta
Both excellent points there Illuriel and JesterEU.
I might consider to add those as a side notation in the tech section. Water Elemental / Mechanical Yeti.
Tempo mage had been my go to deck in the last season (season 17, right before TGT launched). Climbed all the way to about rank 6 before the xpac launched and the meta shifted; after that, it felt like tempo mage no longer played at the same level.
Subbed out Rhonin for Ragnaros the Firelord (I tried Rhonin before in tempo mage, didn't like the pace of him), and have been having a blast! I'll keep testing the deck, but definitely feels more stable than the previous versions I was playing. Nexus-Champion Saraad is a great way to get more spells, though you have to keep in mind that he's a 7 drop basically. I prefer him so far over Spellslinger (nothing like drawing your opponent another finisher).
Great deck!
Can you replace Rhonin with anything? Not quite enough dust for him yet.
Hi Sebulouso.
Check the tech suggestion part of in the description and adjust accordingly to what suits you best. If you like to live on the edge of rage and fun, add a Spellslinger if you brave enough.
:)
Upvoted solely for Nexus-Champion Saraad, the rest looks like standard tempo. Why Piloted Shredder over Mechanical Yeti? I feel like the spare part helps the spell synergy in the deck more than the random body from Shredder would.
Ive been running Mech Yetis in my tempo deck and finally took them out. Too many times I lost because I gave my Op a stealth to stealth his lethal or I gave him freeze to freeze my lethal. Mech Yeti is great for synergy but it backfired on me too many times. Bad luck ( ._.)
I really liked this deck, and how you included cards that otherwise would become dust (Nexus Champion Saraad) Congratulations...Also...
Replacement for Dr.Balanced? Just fuck this card
You can replace Dr. Boom with any 4 other legends. You just have to dust them and craft Boom first.
