Proper write-up coming soon. Here's a video from Season 18--a new video will be coming soon too!
Abstract:
Hey guys. I wanted to go ahead and share my Season 23 Miracle Rogue decklist. I'll be writing a complete guide and write up, along with making an updated video and mulligan list to help people learn how to play the deck a bit.
Objective:
The objective is to slowly wear away at your opponent's health and control the board by using the myriad of 3-drop minions this deck is able to provide. Every minion provides a ton of utility, but make sure to use everything as effectively as possible. Don't worry too much about saving every cheap spell for Gadgetzan Auctioneer, as it's more important to stay on top of the board. You'll be able to refill the hand using the wide variety of draw cards this deck provides. In the late game you should draw into the majority of your whole deck, even with only 1 Gadgetzan Auctioneer if you choose to run only one.
One Shadowstep must be saved for Leeroy Jenkins, while the other one is to be used for utility elsewhere. Save it for Antique Healbot against aggro or use it on an SI:7 Agent for 2 quick damage against mid-range or awkward minions.
Mulligans:
Update coming soon.
Tips and Advice:
Weapon up turn 2 (unless The Coin + SI:7 Agent is the better play) and never waste weapon, save flurry for when you absolutely need it and try to pair it with Spell Power if possible. The rules for weapons for Miracle Rogue are: 1) Only use 2 weapons per game (Three weapons if two flurries are used) and 2) you can hit with weapon on turn 2 only if there will be no turn 3 play for you (there usually will be, especially for this deck).
Few more points of advice:
Update coming soon.
Replacements:
If you're missing Bloodmage Thalnos run either Kobold Geomancer or Loot Hoarder. I'd absolutely recommend the Geomancer as the Spell Power is much more important in this deck than the card draw. Geomancer into Backstab on a Shredder or other 3 HP nuisance is critical, whereas Loot Hoarder has no immediate payout (or a payout that is even needed in this deck).
If you're missing Leeroy Jenkins, just throw in an Arcane Golem. In more traditional Miracle Rogue decks that I experiment with, I actually sometimes prefer Arcane Golem to Leeroy Jenkins. Just use your judgment here too.
Conclusion:
This deck is incredibly complex and very difficult. Without a proper write-up, I'm sure most people won't be able to play the deck to its full potential and be hasty to call it bad. Give it some time, learn why each card is in the deck and if needed, make changes that can be justified.
Thank you for reading, and check back soon for the actual write-up and video on how to play. If you have questions about the deck, feel free to add me at Clayzor#1428. Cheers.
Deck is mediocre, but totally outmatched by fatigue warrior (which very popular around 8-3 ranks). Also bad vs freeze mage, since have zero threats against both of those decks, ofc u can mill opp for 2-3-4-5 cards still need to be really lucky to win those matchups.
Hey ClayzoR I really like this deck it's really fun and it's a great feeling of old times in me whenever I hit that miracle! Now this is a bit to ask but I have huge problems with Aggro and any control that isn't slow, while I wanna edit my deck to play better vs all the aggro I keep facing I don't know what to make an adjustment for. Note I swapped Edwin for a dark iron skulker for more removal but face Hunter and some more aggressive controls tend to out weigh that and if I can't shadowstep the healbot it loses the game for me. What would you reccomend I change about the deck without making it too much less consistent overall?
also if you don't mind could you let me know some of the certain swaps that should be made during certain metas if nessessary? For example if there are more aggro or face matchups card A can be swapped with card B? thanks man I really love playing this deck btw.
Just a reminder sire, you've taken beneath the ground so the guide you wrote is not valid anymore. So a change please?
so why oracle instead of burgle?can you please write why you make changes?some notes
I really like this deck, ive been enjoying playing with it a lot. Im missing some cards like bloodmage talmos and leeroy ( I use edwin, mukla and dr boom, hes great with shadowstep), I miss also the tgt cards, but it aint a problem, but the most worrying cards missing are the preps :/ . They are just useful in every rogue deck, tough I dont have the mana to craft em and it sucks. but the deck is working even without them!! That deck does miracles tough, but thoses preps would be so uselful with van cleef and gadgetzan!!!
the idea of this deck is awesome, thanks for sharing it on hearthpwn.
- King Mukla + Violet Teacher
- Antique Healbot + Earthen Ring Farseer
-1 Burgle +1 Cutpurse
Works really well for me =)
Have you considered introduce Emperor Thaurissan ?
Thanks for sharing this interesting deck.
Hey there Reinan! Love the decks you create on Hearthpwn! They're also very unique and creative! I've also tried out your mech rogue deck and liked it a lot!
The reason I like your substitutions is because you trade a 3 mana minion for a 4 mana, then a 5 mana minion for a 3 (so you're not lacking in the 3 mana minion slot). You lose out on the big heal which can be clutch against the aggressive decks where you have to really swing the game around (otherwise they'll overpower you), but I think these changes are justified.
I'm surprised you added a cutpurse, as I haven't really seen how the card can be that great. Indeed, the combo initiator from the coin can be nice (and the extra mana, of course), but a 2 mana 2/2 seems very risky. I suppose it trades with opponents 2 mana guys (you coin play it or are player one, they play their guy, you hit face and they trade in), but I think he's pretty ambitious. I'm not a fan of Burgle quite yet, so I think the change is appropriate. I'll most likely be subbing out burgles in the near future!
I don't like emperor because he's not really needed. Every turn is already calculated to where you wouldn't need the mana reduction, and I think the benefits of your other 6 and 5 mana minions (battlecries and natural effects) outweighs what you'll be getting out of Thaurissan. If he works for you, definitely run it! But I personally don't think he's worth it. I get questions about thaurissan a lot, but I'll always stick to my guns and say he's not worth it because that's what I truly believe.
Thank you for the comment, and keep creating good works of your own!
Thanks for the reply and glad you like my deck, really appreciated! =)
Yes, I've been testing for a long time the Cutpurse and looks a bit underrated, I mean when work is very good but obviously it is quite fragile and usually die easily if staying alive has the potential to radically transform the match in your favor,it conflicts with some good early drops or your opponent can get desperate and use value cards like Ironbeak Owl Equality as has happened to me, it's like having Taunt haha , as you said it is an ambitious option but I think worth it. I definitely like this guy.
The other card I am testing instead of Burgle is the Saboteur, the best scenario is you play Cutpursein turn 2 and your opponent just use your hero power (and this happens more often than you can imagine) and turn 3 you use the Saboteur to conflict the hero power letting your opponent in a very uncomfortable situation and taking the maximum value of Cutpurse, obvious that it is a favorable scenario and you have to run a certain risk but if works are wonderful, is a true counter of Priest I think this card has much potential as well .

Hey Pulsification! Thank you for the kind comment! I'm still doing a lot of experiments with the deck myself, so keep tuning in to see the newest changes and where the deck is progressing!
Don't be afraid to try your own experiments too! Try to spread the love of Miracle Rogue for all to enjoy!
what should shadow step be used on vs agro since you took out the heal bot?
Hey there Ser_Pounce!
I would recommend shadowstepping either the SI:7 agent to deal with something pesky or shadowstepping Coldlight Oracle to draw into better options to deal with whatever you're facing. Aggro decks don't tend to flood the board as much as they used to, so using shadowstep for the extra 2 damage can usually help to take control of the board again.
I was between Healbot and Skulker, and I've noticed that Skulker pretty much negates the 8 damage that you would be using healbot to catch up on. Therefore I don't really think Healbot is needed in this deck. I'm still testing things, but that's what I've established so far.
Hope this helps!
If i only have one Beneath the Grounds can I replace it with Burgle? Or what should I add in instead :O
Hey there Jubjoe! If you only have one Beneath the Grounds, you can definitely try burgle out! Unfortunately, I think that the reason this deck does pretty well is because of Beneath the Grounds and Coldlight synergy. I would honestly recommend playing a different type of deck if you're missing a Beneath the Grounds because you really have to run 2 if the deck is going to be consistent.
I don't like telling people to not play my deck for obvious reasons, but I wouldn't want you to be discouraged due to missing a Beneath the Grounds. I'd try it once you pick up a second copy of the card, otherwise you can try to play either a more traditional Miracle Rogue deck (like the only I've played from Seasons 1-16) or switching to something like Oil or Control-style Rogue decks.
Hope this info helps, and thanks for the good question!
Now running no Beneath the Grounds, so your Burgles have been substituted in! Enjoy! ^.^
yay thanks! I'll try it out, just opened King Mukla too :P
hey again kabutozero! just testing some changes here and there. I don't think I'll keep this set of changes, since I've been testing it a bit more and it's been unsuccessful. changing the deck list back now!
edit: due to popular demand, I also included an oil and will test it on stream tonight at 7:30pm pdt
Giving it a shot, but first glance seems like you're just subbing in mediocre cards to fuel gadgetzan over prep/sprint and trading oils for a leeroy/shadowshop, which was deemed inferior when he got hit with the nerf bat. Just so many cards you don't want to see in your opening hand...
I do, but have no idea what you're referring to in regards to my comment....
Hello Mappove! That's an interesting decision to run no Leeroy or Shadowstep and instead use 2 Oil. It's something I'll look into to see if I like it as well!
I really like having two Coldlight Oracles personally. Since I'm only running one Gadgetzan Auctioneer, it can be rather difficult to cycle in the early stages of the game, and I usually end up playing both Coldlights in a game and also Shadowstepping a Coldlight, giving me 6 cards worth of cycle for both my deck and my opponents. I don't usually end up milling opponents, as that's not really how the deck is played, and I think the payout of both coldlights is worth it.
I might consider running 2 Drakes and 0 Skulkers, as Skulkers are still a card I'm experimenting with (really good in some matchups, but not great against slower control matchups). I'm still moving stuff around, so I'll take 2 drakes into consideration as well.
Thank you for your comment!
