I am sharing the deck post TGT launch I used from Rank 5 through to Legend.
Day 1: Rank 5 [0 Stars] - Rank 3 [1 Star]......(13-2)
Day 2: Rank 3 [1 Star] - Rank 1 [1 Star]........(14-4)
Day 3: Rank 1 [1 Star] - Legend.....................(7-2)
Winrate: 34-8 [80.95%]
I have run into a few variations of this deck on the ladder, it's quite a tricky mirror matchup and typically comes down to who plays Mysterious Challenger first.
Thijs ran a pretty identical build to mine, but had Mad Scientist in place of Annoy-o-Tron.
Annoy-o-Tron is probably the MVP of the deck. I have seen players run Coghammer which is really very strong, but having a minion outright instead of depending on needing one goes a long way. When I included Annoy-o-Tron I was thinking that he would serve as a means to help develop the board for Mysterious Challenger and make for an annoying (no pun intended) Redemption. However the card turned out to more than that and was key in slowing aggro decks and often times outright stopping the opponent from getting anything done.
Quick Tip:
Do your best to play on curve and just make good decisions based on what you know about the meta and your opponent's build. E.g. Don't fall asleep at the wheel when a Warrior plays Sylvanas Windrunner on your healthy board. Make sure to kill her yourself and don't let him Brawl you with her alive.
Quick Mulligan: It can be simple but very free form
- Toss all secrets no matter what.
- Always keep Mysterious Challenger.
- Keep your early 2 drops and Piloted Shredder especially with coin.
- Keep Consecration against Paladin and Warlock
- Truesilver Champion is something to always consider holding unto, it can be more valuable than Shredder.
why there is no draw cards in this deck ? i find myself with an empty hand everytime and at that point i just play the card given to mesimply because the enemy survived the turn 6 mysterious and boom
any ideas ?
Chances are you might have played other secret paladins before and you are accustomed to playing out your hand. This deck is not meant to flood, but be resilient. It's a much more methodical build than the more current secret paladins.
I can only suggest you slow down and pick your plays carefully on curve and always keep Mysterious Challenger in hand, or you might need to use a more recent secret paladin build that uses Haunted Creeper and Coghammer and such.
Hit legend with this deck substitute with 1 con spririt with repetance
Great deck anyway
Great job!
Made an account just so say this deck has got me 100% win rate from rank 13 - 8 so far I'm loving it. Mysterious Challenger feels so OP and I feel dirty on the inside dropping it turn 6. I have even won a few games without ever seeing the MC.
:) Glad you are doing well with it.
Yeah you can try Loatheb. Can't really think of a more beneficial option.
If it were, I would have used it. :)
But the real deal is that I have tried things like Haunted Creeper. There is merit to its use since the deathrattle provides more bodies. However, it's not significant enough, and more importantly does not stop attacks against other more important friendly minions. Annoy-o-Tron makes it difficult for the opponent to get to the minions they actually want to get rid off without having to resort to spells. So because of the taunt and the annoying divine shield it facilitates easier board development early in the game.
Excellent, glad you like it and that change is a good one.
1 Quartermaster or loatheb for a belcher? what do u think ?
I would give it a try, the reasoning is sound. Loatheb would be a better tempo pick over Quartermaster.
Absolutely no replacement for that secret in this deck. You could run a deck like this without Redemption, and if very bold even without Noble Sacrifice, but Avenge is the secret you don't leave out. You can try running it without Avenge but it will certainly not be anywhere close to the same results.
I have a F2P on EU and I don't have the adventures on that account so I will try running it without Avenge and let you know if I find a work around. Thought it would likely be a VERY different build all together.
Glad you enjoy it.
I love Murloc Knight and the reason I didn't add it to the deck is actually simple. I found that in matches it was difficult keeping a board and the best way to do so is make sure the minions are either hard to remove (take multiple tries) like Annoy-o-Tron or spawn a minion after death like Piloted Shredder. This is something very important to have especially after you leave turn 3.
Murloc Knight is effective on turn 6 and you actually want to be developed BEFORE turn 6. You might be thinking it can be played on 4 (rightfully so), but there was the problem of it being removed before getting to use its ability. With a lot of Paladins out there it dies to Truesilver Champion on turn 4, among other things (Death's Bite, Fireball). Piloted Shredder dies to the same things but it leaves us with something for Mysterious Challenger to work with. That's the reason Murloc Knight isn't in the deck, it kills the tempo drastically if it doesn't work out. As things were, it was too much of a risk.
Singed in to say thank you. 5***** to Legend in a few hours.
You are very welcome :)
I would like to replace Secret Keeper for Card draw, what do you suggest ?
you kind of answered your own question. If you are removing Secretkeeper to add card draw then you already know what cards you want to use. The only thing I can suggest is to pick a draw card that suits your needs. You know best what kind of draw you are looking for.
E.g. If you want draw because you burn out your hand then Divine Favor would be the obvious option. If you trade a lot on your turn then Solemn Vigil would be a better fit. If you want a body then there are several minions to take your pick from.
Card draw should not be an issue, if it is then you are probably playing inefficiently. But each player sees things differently, so change what you need to in order to suit yourself..
I personally went for -2 secret keeper, +1 acolyte of pain, +1 divine favour. I find against dragon priest and warriors divine favour is really useful when pushing for lethal.
Fair enough, as long as it works for you.
This deck is good but I usually end up with top deck. Need draw card. Any suggestion?
