We all know how effective spam paladin has been in the meta. It has lead to some rather one sided matches in both tournaments and on ladder. So with TGT out I decided to revamp the deck to my favorite tribe. MURLOCS. Previously murlocs were the domain of warlocks due to the hero power pushing for so much. Then GVG gave murlocs to Shaman's who said hell no. So they were left with out a place in the meta. Then along came the Murloc Knight.
The strategy of the deck is pretty straight forward. Play the deck as if it was an aggro spamadin and build the board. At around turn 6 you will want to drop the Murloc Knight and hero power to get a solid board. If you have the Sword of Justice in play then your board just became sickening.
You will trade when you have to, but always apply as much face pressure as you can.
Mulligan
For all decks the mulligan is the same. Leper Gnome, Shielded Minibot, Muster for Battle, Abusive Sergeant, Divine Favor is also an acceptable hold.
Is there no room for Fencing Coach in this deck for turn 4 Knight + Hero Power?
I like it but cannot decide what to remove...
I was considering it, however as the deck is super vulnerable to AOE giving your opponent more reach for said AOE can be counter productive
I subbed in Coldlight Oracle for the leper gnomes. I haven't been running into too much aggro, so it works. I think vs control/tempo its a fine sub. against aggro the lepers are the better call.
@Chiv
Thnx for this deck. This and the dreadsteed deck, are the most fun decks atm.
And it gets even more funny. When you play against a different murloc deck.
Love the Deck, but should you change from two Leper Gnome for two Murloc Raider for more synergy?
On paper that sounds good however... Leper Gnome is just a staple in aggro decks because of its deathrattle cost and stats. It's almost guaranteed damage, worst case scenario it gets earth shocked for no value, but who would earth shock a leper gnome?
Dennis would, that's the only exception.
The leper gnomes have a higher value on their own then most other 1 drops, simply put turn 1 no coin its damn near 4 damage. Another factor that many overlook, yet can be really crucial to getting a win is making your opponent look one direction when in fact its something else....If you know its a murloc deck then you know how to counter it. So by giving enough aggro spam cards like Leper gnome you can delay this to some degree and your opponent may play away that one card they would have needed to shut you down...The problem with murlocs is they are pretty easy to linchpin and destroy without much issue, so to help soften this up you have to sorta murloc in sheep's clothing them in order to just go Surprise murloc butt sex. Now this wont always be the case but in many match ups this can be exactly what you need to seal the deal. Also turn 1 raider tells your opponent "Hi I am Murloc please hold onto 3 damage kill spells so my war leader has virtually no sustained value and please hold onto those AOE's. This approach, in theory, gives you some more options and some mental mind games you can play with your opponent...On a side note when you win expect a slew of angry baby rage.
I did a secrets version, and put in coldlights. Nothing crushes like card draw and cheap secrets to pump you up. And then one of the put all secrets into play dudes.
Is very fun!
Downside of having Coldlight is that u possibly just drew answers for the opponent, and that's not what u want when ur piloting an aggro deck. It's really dangerous. Plus u already have 2 Divine Favor....
I murk
I die
...
I murkadin.
lol deck sucks needs more instant damage.
i put in some arcane golems and it's good now
Well part of that was constructive.
how the fuck
Sylvannas is a cruel bitch
Love it
Great deck. Murlocks have never been dead. There has always been one viable murlock deck in every meta. They're not as OP as they where at the beginning, but I've played, Warlock, Paladin, Shaman and even Hunter decks in GVG and now this is the first good deck I try in TGT and it's good.
@ TheChiv I have had good luck by adding a couple of coldlight oracles. It adds card draw, gets all of the murloc buffs, plus the downside is alleviated by divine favor.
i dint even finished the last 6 games.. all oponents just rage quited hahaha
really enjoyed that..
