MidRanged Secret Pally
Hey its me PurpleLum and I'm back with my secret paladin for season 19. I just finished refining the deck list for this season and it seems to be consistent. My win/loss ratio is about 60-70% wins. So if you want something consistent to climb with I suggest this deck to you !
HERE IS THE HIGHEST RANK WITH THIS DECK I'VE ACHIEVED :)
If you enjoyed this deck, why not give me a follow on twitch? and I may start streaming offering to coach other players :) purplelum
Basic Mulligan Guide
Look for a minibot, creeper, avenge, muster, juggler
Avenge: Always keep
Competitive spirit: Dont keep unless something crazy. like turn 1 comp spirit then turn 2 muster
Noble Sacrifice: Keep only if face hunter or mech mage. Basically keep if aggro deck otherwise no.
Knife Juggler: Keep
Shielded MiniBot: ALWAYS KEEP
Muster for battle: keep with coin or a good two drop
Aldor PeaceKeeper: NEVER KEEP
True Silver: Keep with coin and a good curve like 1, 2 and 3 drop
Consecration: Keep if you have coin and aggro deck otherwise no.
Shredder: Keep depending on curve and coin
Loatheb: NEVER KEEP
Sludge Belcher: NEVER KEEP
Mysterious Challenger: NEVER KEEP
DR. Boom: NEVER KEEP
Lay on Hands: NEVER KEEP
Tirion: NEVER KEEP
Blessing of Kings: keep depending on curve
Haunted Creeper: Keep
Cog Hammer: Keep depending on curve
Match Ups
Generally anything that is aggro/tempo/midrange you should have the upper hand on with a decent mulligan.
Match ups in your favour are: Face Hunter, MidRanged Hunter, TempoMage, Mech Mage, Mech Shaman, Grim Patron, other palladins
Replacements
Dr. Boom = Ragnaros
Mysterious Challenger = Sylvanas or Sky golem
Tirion = Ragnaros
Awesome deck, went from rank 10 to 5 in one day, its trick is to have high value and tempo play early through your secrets and get to your late game threats way easier than any other midrange paladin deck, its beauty is that you get to use the most usefull secrets of paladin (not spamming crap like reppentance, eye for and eye, redemption like other secret pallys), i also like to add that the inclussion of big cards like tirion/loatheb/boom makes it so your navigation through turns 1-4 is more difficult but it also makes up for it if you can make it work.
Ps: If you have problems against hunters, shamans or agro secret pallys you are taking bad choices o mulligans through your early game, for instance mulligan a consecration against any of these classes will win you the game on turn 4.
Exactly my experience too.
I first went something like 5-11 with it, so I swapped to some other variations of this deck type with moderate success. I then went back to this deck and did the mulligan/early game properly (followed the mulligan advice in this guide to the letter, played avenge on turn 1 and muster on turn 3 a lot, etc).
I'm now 25-16 with it and just hit rank 5. So, I basically went 20-5 on my second try with this deck. This was between ranks 12 and 5 on EU, if that matters. Great deck
This deck was fun when I first tried it, but now with all the aggro junkies Im finding it to be not performing well at all. Even with the replacement guide for meta shifts it is very uninpactful as most aggros run multiple silences and the lack of a 1 drop minion is further componded. When the deck works its great, however I would suggest low mana cost taunts such as Annoy o tron.
danke
You seem to be one of the few people having problems with this deck. However I agree it is not as strong as when it was first made because the meta has shifted against paladin completely
This deck is way too inconsistent. I have been playing secrets paladin in high legend, and you don't want a 1-of every card that is sort of good in paladin. You want a deck focused on mysterious challenger as a win condition. This is more of a midrange paladin with secrets flavor than a real secrets paladin.
I've really enjoyed this deck. Seems to take care of one of paladin's problems of getting control of board in the early game.
Great deck.. helping me hit rank5 for the nice chest. I've tried switching in redemption but it doesn't work with noble sacrifice. It's pretty good if you draw it though and then play it at best time.
.... uhhhhhhhhhhhh, no. Not even close.
Cancer or not, there's an argument to be made that cards like Mysterious Challenger with its over the top interaction with the deck brings more flavor into the meta. Alongside that, it puts more interesting mechanics, plays, and counterplays into the game. This probably sounds controversial, but imo, I hope more cards like this get released so it elevates Hearthstone from a simple game of drawing one card per turn, play one minion, and smash a minion into another minion. That at least should be the factor which separates a mode like constructed further away from Arena.
There's some matchups where you're just heavily unfavored, adjusting mechanics to balance every unbalanced matchup isn't going to happen. You're just going to have to adjust and switch decks or accept your unfavored matches.
Hey purple, just thought I'd say thanks. Highest rank was 9 until I started this deck a few hours ago, streaked to rank 6 where I am currently thanks mate.
Hi i have two mysterious challengers. Do u think i should use two? And what do you think about secret keeper?
Don't know about Secret Keeper, but i wouldn't use two Mysterious Challenger, By the time you get to turn 6 you will probably have played a couple of secrets, then the first Challenger will pull a copy of any that are left. That will leave you with 1 or 2 in deck at most and there are better cards for the 7, 8 and 9 mana turns.
I run redemption, sub out a Mad Scientist and you get much more control of the secrets. A redemption with either Dr Boom or Tirion is almost going to win you the game. A redemption definately has a place, i mean if it brings back a Silver Hand Recruit that is its worst target, but that is still fine. Any its best possibilities are massive. I went 20 games with a redemption and never resummoned anything less than a Shielded Minibot, you have so much control of the spell!
But if you get it on mysterious challenger, youre usually gonna resurrect a noble sacrifice.. I think thats the main reason its out.
Maybe if you drop one or two Noble Sacrifice it would be better (?)
A good point and i wont argue that's ideal. If you don't have a Noble Sacrifice left then it is ideal and even if it pulls all 4 secrets you could well be left with a 10/9 Mysterious Challenger and a 3/2 Noble at the beginning of turn 7. That's pretty OP. I'm sure people will say that's unrealistic but you opponent has 6 mana to combat your Challenger and 4 secrets, that's hard. In mirror i usually try to proc the secrets then Alador the large body. As a 1 mana spell it can seal a game if you can chose when to use it, i mean early on with a Piloted shredder is also ridiculous. Im sure it is just personal preference, i had a lot of good fortune with it but maybe that was just me.
This deck is great either way. :D
still so surprised at how insane murloc knight is
this deck is really well-tuned and fun to play
I was about to try this deck and then I fired up my zoolock, faced three guys playing this very deck and beat them, I'm a little taken a back, was I just lucky with zoo, or is this deck generally bad against zoo?
Thanks
