A quick video of Dragon Priest in full stride
It's OP use it. twitch.tv/reynad27
Just for clarification Chillmaw is for Patron Warrior, Voljin is mainly used for high health late game drops such as Ysera and then smiting the minion. Rend is used for the manyyyy legendaries that have sprouted because of TGT
-*LOOK HERE IMPORTANT STUFF* EDIT----- Reynad has added in 2 shrinkmiesters, 2 cabal shadow priests, a second shadow word death, 2 shadow madness and has taken out 2 smite, 2 velen's chosen, ysera, rend and vol'jin. He wanted the deck to have a better curve and early game so the deck doesn't lose all control because of enemy early drops
*LOOK MORE IMPORTANT STUFF* EDIT--- I know the changes made the deck worse but reynad was just trying stuff out. You can revert to the old deck because it had a higher win percentage just wanted to put his edits in the deck so its up to date ~ Loki (PS i personally think the original deck is better)
100% agree. ;)
Any replacements for Rend (original version) which could work better? I am not a fan of him.
Meh - it gets you to about lvl 15. Even the original gets you to about lvl 15. Definitely not a legendary deck by any means. Keep trying.
after playing around with different non-viable options I dropped from 5 to 10. This deck (1st option: - drag sorc, -chillmaw, -voljin + bomb + boom +summon legendary lady) easily took me back balancing between ranks 5-6. Can't get higher, but I don't play a lot.
Inconsistent mulligans and warriors in general are the bane of version 1.
After playing it for a while, I've determined it pretty much sucks. Going back to Icy-Veins. They know how to build a deck.
After 20+ games played with the original, it feels like the deck already had more than enough early game and I never even bothered running the cultists. Wyrmrests, Twilights and Blackwing Technicians already provided enough mulligan targets. The Holy Smites helped with agro, too. In place of the cultists, I added Lightbomb and Justicar for some real lategamesmanship. #bringbackoriginal
Question: was thinking about crafting justicar or confessor...has justicar been doing alright?? Not too slow? Also what ranks did you do what at? A bit stuck at 13 atm. Paladin was cake but now it's gotten crazy
Playing the original deck (pre-edits). Deck is working great for me for all matchups except Handlocke. Replace 1 Holy Nova with Lightbomb and 1 Velen's Chosen for BGH, but still having trouble against the matchup. Any advice for that matchup from people running the deck? It seems to lack the pop to close once you get the warlock to 15 in order to play around Molten Giants.
First game with the new deck...Mage w/ Antinidas handed me my tail. Second game...same mage deck. Third game...
Maybe I need to craft Antinidas.
"AHA!"
maybe you should, hes a really solid card.
Judging by people reactions, im sticking with the old deck. Going on a 6 game win streak on rank. Rend really comes in handy.
I recommend reverting those changes.
I don't think it's as nice as mine either lol, though I am hardly a high level player.

Share a lot of similarities.
I have hated the new changes, I am using the old one, but with Sylvanas instead of Voljin.

I agree that Smite, Velen's Chosen and Vol'jin come as a package but, personally, would have the sisters instead of the Cultists in that version.
If Reynad is shifting away from that package, I really don't understand why Dragonskin Sorceror remains in the deck. I'd certainly drop it to keep Ysera, although I am very wary of reducing the dragon count at all, as Reynad has done. Indeed, I don't even fully approve of including Twilight Whelp as a dragon-activator as you normally want to play it asap, rather than keep it in hand to activate other dragons-matter cards.
Reynad's new version has only 8 dragons, including the Whelps and the Dragonkin Sorceror.
Additionally, I wonder if Holy Nova is really still correct over Lightbomb without the Velen's Chosen package? Azure Drake is also weakened by the loss of Smite.
All-in-all, I think that I'd rather play the original version in this early TGT metagame. The new version might be better once the meta firms up and becomes faster, I guess, but should certainly lose the Dragonkin and go looking for different dragons to replace it.
I really don't like Dragonkin Sorcerer, I never activated it once in the 10-12 games I had it. Leeroy Jenkins takes that slot for me. Also, Chillmaw is better replaced with Dr. Boom and you absolutely need Rend Blackhand in the current meta. He's not optional.
All said, this new revision is very much weaker than the original.
Now this deck pretty much looks like a priest zoo to great extent. Don't like what I see here tbh.
Depends on the meta probably - this would be better in a faster one, the first version - in a slower one
I totaly agree with what you are saying. Good you said that out loud ^.^
I also think with taking out Shadow Madness and Shrinkmeister, you are getting 4 slots for more dragons like Ysera.
I would only play one Holy smite, but two Holy Nova without takind Lightbomb in. Personally i would then switch the Vol´jinn to one Cabal shadow priest, which also gives you a bit of consistency and boardcontrol.
What do you think about these changes?
The changes made me lose a lot of matches, so I reverted it to the Ysera, Rend and Vol´jin ones. Won those lost matches back. I know, the curve was better, but with so many people running Legendaries, Rend can be a life-saver sometimes, along with Vol´Jin.
Surprisingly viable deck! No ranked games atm but even in Casual ones, the deck seems pretty solid.
