Hello,
So I just crafted these new TGT dragon cards and built this deck and played it on EU Legend. To this point, I won 8 out of 8 games, which is of course not a big sample size, but I think you can still see that the deck is pretty good by that.
This deck is by no means in it's final form and I am still questioning some cards.
Cards I consider to discard from the deck:
Blackwing Technician - At first I forgot about this card and didn't play it for the first few games and I didn't miss it too much. It can also be inconsistent sometimes even though the deck runs a lot of dragons.
Varian Wrynn - Huge lategame threat. But because it comes out so late, sometimes you don't have a lot of strong cards in your deck. The few times I actually got to play it, I was not really that convinced about the card. I am still going to leave it in the deck for the time.
Shield Slam - I decided not to run Shield Block in the deck because this deck is more minion heavy / midrangy which of course makes Shield Slam a bit weaker. I am still currently playing one copy.
Grommash Hellscream - Most of the games with this decks you win with board control, not Alexstrasza + Grommash. It still is nice for trading, but I might test Icehowl instead (though I don't have it yet).
Alexstrasza's Champion - At first I thought this card would just be a worse Fiery War Axe but it turned out to be pretty strong. I think 2 copies are fine.
Cards I am considering to add:
Deathwing - Big dragon, late game threat, strong with Varian. In the first few games I actually ran my golden Deathwing but I dropped it out because he was sitting in my hand a lot of times.
Brawl - I decided not to run Brawl because you will try to maintain board control with this deck from the beginning of the game. I might still consider to run a copy.
Rend Blackhand - Also run him at first but the meta is far too fast for him. Your opponent rarely plays big legendaries.
Sludge Belcher - With the Addition of Twilight Guardian we already have a really strong Taunt minion and I never really liked the Belcher in Control Warrior. I am really happy to finally run another taunt minion instead!
Master Jouster - I was unfortunately only able to open a few packs and didn't get this card and didn't feel the need to try this card. But I think it is a serious consideration to put in the deck!
Further observations: Similar to standard control hunter, this deck destroys Face Hunter. An early Twilight Guardian can already be the death of the Hunter, especially in conjunction with an Armorsmith behind. Justicar Truehart is also really strong in this deck - unlike I thought before playtesting it. If you get the time to play it, the hunter stands almost no chance.
Though I only played one game against a double combo druid I immediately felt how this deck has a much stronger chance to win against this deck. Because you can curve out really strong with valueable minions it is a lot harder for the druid to develope a strong board.
I will keep updating this list. Please comment your thoughts and card ideas!
+1 1question is grom worth having he is hard to activate ? good replace? ok that was 2 questions :)
This is the most atrocious warrior deck ever conceived.
I would cut Ragnaros and Nefarian for more early game stuff.
wow, this deck is super greedy. with secret paladin (particularly the more aggro variant) dominating the meta at this time, i really don't think you can afford to be so top heavy.
RIP Wallet
This deck does not work against the paladin and warlock decks. Also, without shield block, your card draw is horrendous. CW already has lousy card draw this is even worse.
I'd cut a bunch of those legendaries + 2x alexstrasza's champion (great on paper, doesn't really do anything more than what FWA already can), and put back in:
2x whirlwind, 1x armorsmith, 2x shield block, 2x azure drakes
Dropped from 7 to 10 after I switched to this deck.
I am getting destroyed by Paladins with this deck (and you'll be facing them every second match or so). It has no way to deal with aggro unless two things happen:
YOU get very lucky with your opening hand &
your OPPONENT gets very unlucky with their opening hand.
Honestly, this deck gets destroyed by most things; it's way too greedy, too many high cost legendaries and not enough early game. You are basically dependent on 1) your opponent playing really slow 2) to get very lucky with your early cards. The main win condition seems to be "drop as many big things and hope you win."
Varian Wrynn is also a strange choice for this deck, because while it is heavy on minions, most of them have important battle cries; taunts on guardians, damage from corrupters, charge on champions, health change on alexs, replacement hero power on justicar, and so on.
Replace chromaggus with deathwing and u have the best deck 2015
Amazing ! I will craft and try this deck right now ! ... oh wait ... i'm not rich :|
(Btw good job for the deck, the 16680 dust just make me laugh)
I've been having fun with this deck! Love playing Warrior anyway, except Patron, and was interested to see how this would do. I had to swap out Justicar Trueheart for Emperor Thaurissan as I haven't yet had the luck or dust to get Trueheart. But it has really helped to reduce the cost of the big minions in this deck.
Anyway, I made a deck spotlight video to add to my ongoing series, I hope you like it!
Using my own variation of the deck with a little more dragon synergy.
Poor lil priest :(
PS - The 43 armor is due to Justicar Trueheart
Haha, nice. What changes did you make?
I made quite a few changes actually just to try some things out with the synergy and for more survivability early game due to all the Rush/Aggro decks that are currently being played.
-1 Execute
-1 Fiery War Axe
-1 Armorsmith
-1 Cruel Taskmaster
-1 Death's Bite
-1 Blackwing Technician
-1 Twilight Guardian
-2 Acolyte of Pain
- Ragnaros the Firelord
+1 Shield Slam
+1 Faerie Dragon
+1 Sparring Partner
+1 Bash
+1 Twilight Drake
+1 Brawl
+1 Master Jouster
+1 Shield Block
+ Rend Blackhand
+ Emperor Thaurissan
It's worked out pretty well so far, still fails to keep control of a few of the quick Hunter and Shaman aggro decks that are being played constantly though. Works VERY well vs Dragon Priest and other decks so far though.
If you took out 1 deaths bite, how come you have two on the picture?
Yep, drew it off Chromaggus :) @Hoorah1500
Dude this is a friend game
No it was a casual game to try out the deck, not a friend game
LOL yeah Nefarian stole that for me lol
Chromaggus
