Card explanations:
- Mana Wyrm: Strong 1-manacost minion, good against all kinds of decks. Cannot be replaced.
- Mad Scientist: One of the "perfectly balanced" cards in game. Cannot be replaced.
- Sorcerer's Apprentice: Has a great synergy with cheap spells.
- Unstable Portal: Amazing card. Buffs Mana Wyrm and can be played cheaper with Sorcerer's Apprentice. The chances of getting a decent minion are quite high.
- Flamecannon: Very strong early game removal. Gains huge tempo when played along with Sorcerer's Apprentice on turn 3.
- Frostbolt: No need to explain this card.
- Fireball: No need to explain, an autoinclude card in any mage deck.
- Loatheb: Great card. Shuts your opponents spells and has good stats - must have.
- Sludge Belcher: No need to explain how good this card is.
- Sylvanas Windrunner: One of the best cards in the game. Can put your opponent in an awkward position, force him to make an unfavourable trade. Cannot be replaced efficiently.
- Dr. Boom: Blizzard fix this one please.
- Ragnaros the Firelord: Can snipe out a big minion or deal 8 damage to the face. Cannot be replaced efficiently.
If you have any questions about muligans, some match ups or replacements - feel free to ask in the comment section.
Dumpster everyone. Remember to UPVOTE for guide and continued updates and decks!
I feel that this deck is too greedy when it comes to late game minions. Archmage antonidas + rhonin makes a good late game; but antonidas + rhonin + Dr. Boom + sylvanas + ragnaros is just insane. That's more late game cards than control warriors have. On the other hand, where is your 4 drop and taunt? How do you plan to survive long enough to play all those big drops? no flamestrike is not the answer. You don't see freeze mage without doomsayer and explosive sheep even though they have 2 flamestrikes.
rhonin is pretty with archmage antonidas
got some troubles with face and druids
Testing Now! :D WIll post results soon.
2 losses against totem shamy and ramp druid.
toshley is very good, loadtheb
Rhonin: replace with toshley or mechanical yeti (preferably 2, it's weird that this deck has no 4 drop at all)
Rag: replace with pyroblast
Sylvanas: does not have synergy with this deck, simply replace with any 6 drop you like.
I am a fan of Tempo mage, it's gotten a lot harder to play in the current meta. I am a huge fan of Control Mage now.
Yes i love control decks! they need to be good vs aggro tho or else they fail to become popular
how come you have 2 mad scientist in this deck with only 2 secrets on it??...
without even mentioning the 2 secrets are effigy. I don't know if you have seen it but if your secrets haven't come so far in a game and you have your mad scientist on board, as long as your opponent kill your mad scientist it will bring effigy and instantly active its effect, bringing you another 2manacost-minion by the exchange of your 3manacost-card effigy.. effigy is a good card but it work efficiently on 4manacost-minions and above
That is actually incorrect. Deathrattles trigger after the minion has died, so therefore the secret comes into play after the Mad Scientist is dead, meaning that while Effigy is in play, the Scientist did not die and therefore cannot trigger Effigy.
I honestly don't know this deck works in this meta. No early game board and takes way too long to setup... I don't know how people find success with this. All that dust gone :(
0-5
I think you may have revised this deck too much. It is not working well in the current meta. I do not recommend this deck in its current state.
no offense but if youre 0-5 with the deck then it the player lol , theres been too much recorded success for it to be considered outdated, try the deck again
How can you even have a record of successes when you have revised this deck 16 times in 6 days? Which version of this deck are you claiming success? If you want to get upset and just blame it on me playing bad, then feel free if that makes you feel better. Clearly something is wrong with this deck, otherwise you wouldn't feel the need to constantly be tweaking it. You aren't even happy with it.
aaaaaaaaaaaaand checkmate
it is an adventure card, friend.
then u cant play this deck tempo mage needs flamewaker if u dont have it either buy the wing or play another deck there is no replacement
I don't get the deal, how to you hold off aggression to the point where you can start dropping good minions (at turn 5+)?
There is no heal in here either, so my idea is that Tempo should be aggressive, as low cost spells combine well with Sorcerer's Apprentice, Flamewaker, Archmage Antonidas.
In this deck I only see the late game combo's but no way to survive vs aggro
I don't have the required dust for Rhonin is there anything I can sub it in for?
toshley
Amazing deck man, i only did a few changes
-1 ragnaros
-1 mad scientist
-1 effigy
+1 mirror entity
+2 water elemental
that resolved the lack of turn 4 big minions, so you dont have to pray for a lucky flamewalker combo
