Hello Everybody !
i though about this deck list cuz' Malygos druid had quit a bit of success in the past and i am here to push this well known combo with Malygos to the next level
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that being said let's take a look at the deck
The goal with this deck is to get to turn 10 and pull an insane combo to just OTK your opponent
-This Combo works by abusing the mana reduction of Aviana and the ability of druids to get aditional mana by using Innervates.
Once you have Aviana innervate out a Malygos, then copy it using double Faceless Manipulators to accumulate a total of 15 spell dammage on your board, Moonfire your opponent's face twice to deal a total of 32 dammage (16 per Moonfire)
Gameplay
Spend the first few turns trying to keep the board as clear as possible. Try not to use your second Innervate to keep it for the AvianaMalygos shenanigans, Remember that when the combo works as it should, your opponent's life total will be irrelevent unless you are facing a warrior with tons of armor because the combo deals 32 dammage right away
In the mid-game you keep playing like a normal druid that aims for early board control and win in the late game by playing huge minions or a ForceRoar combo
Card choises :
Azure Drakes are great to powerup your spells and keep the board clear but more importantly to help you cycle through your deck and fetch for your combo
Emperor Thaurissan is here to act as a sudo Innervate cuz' we got the confirmation that the mana reduction of Emperor Thaurissan will go over the 1 mana and you'll be able to get out your minions for 0, Faceless Manipulators or Malygos for instance or to get your combo sooner if you do have all the combo pieces in your hand
(Second Edit : sorry i misunderstood the relation between Emperor Thaurissan and Aviana so empror is here just to reduce the cost of Living Roots or Aviana to help you get the combo sooner sorry for the mistake thanks to the community for the feedback)
Alexstrasza is here in case you're missing one Moonfire or one Faceless Manipulator you can use Alexstrasza instead cuz' she will cost only 1 mana
Living Roots is here to give the deck more consistency since it hits the face if you stack cards like Moonfire it creates a redundancy that makes the deck more consistant just like running a Crackle and a Lava Burst in the same Malygos shaman
i also put in good support cards like Ancient of Lore and to have board presence and trading tools
the rest of the deck is pretty standerd it helps you keeping the board clear and draw to get your combo
Possible replacements:
- if you are suffering from card draw consider adding a Gadgetzan Auctioneer
- if you don't own Bloodmage Thalnos replace it with a Loot Hoarder cuz' card draw is more important than spell dammage in the early game
- Obviously Aviana and Malygos are irreplacable this combo won't work without them.
Conclusion:
Tell me what do you think about this deck list in the comment section below i'll be keeping track of that also if you have any ideas of how to improve this list make sure to let me know
on a side note i'd like to point to the fact that this is a rough theorycraft that needs to be improved if you think it's bad i'll appreciate if you constructively criticize and not just scream that this is trash

if you did like the deck list
i do't have much to say to reply to that pour pretty much said everything
this first edition contained Tree of Life to create more survivability against those early combos but i ended up cutting it for card draw
Coldlight Oracle is worth consideration but i can't really find room for it cuz' cutting a Wild Growth seems a bit awkward to me
yeah i know that patrons mech and zoo ruins everything i'll play it mostly for the fun of it
You can change a zombie chow for that new Gadgetzan Jouster. You have a lot of high mana cost cards and that heal can be a issue with otk. You can play a ragnaros in combo like additional dmg. And of course you can play a Astral Communion but issue with it is that you can discard your combo.
The thing is, if you have your full combo, that's 32 damage, so the heal is kind of irrelevant. I would also say it's not worth the risk.
Gadgetzan Jouster is worth consideration against aggro decks
Astral Communion is definitely not a possibility the deck is already suffering from card draw and loosing your initial hand would most likely loose you the game cuz' you would be depanding on top decks
i think Astral Communion should be played with a deck with a lot of late game minions like Deathwing and other things like that and even thow you'll need to be very lucky cuz' the card is kind of dead after turn 6 so you'll need to get it in your oppening hand
You guys really over-estimate Gadgetzan Jouster. This deck has 10 cards or so that cost 3 mana or less. That's a full 1/3. Remember that jousts lose ties. Hence at least 1/3 of the time, your Jouster is guaranteed to be a 1/2. Then, there are an additional 4 cards that cost 4. If the opponent's aggro deck has even a 2 4-cost cards, the odds begin to sink to something like 60 percent. So, roughly 2 out of every 5 times you play the Jouster, it's a 1/2. Why not just play Zombie Chow?
he is not in the deck any way and i ended up cutting the chow for the second living roots the two 1/1s or even the 2 dammage are good to counter early game aggro
Jousting reveals minions only, not any card from your deck. So it's plausible imo in this deck.
i am considering the second living roots instead of a zombie chow against aggro
for the healling the initial version contained tree of life but i ended up cutting it for more card draw
thanks for the feedback mate i'll keep it in mind
If you're able to Emperor some spells, Avianna + Loatheb will be pretty good to allow Avianna to maybe survive. Then Maly + Faceless x2 + any spells to do dmg.
might fit if you tweak the deck a bit more but it's already very gimmiky i can't quit tell
dont u want tree of life there?
the initial version contained the tree of life but i ended up cutting it for more card draw
I truly apologize for being Buzzkill James here ,but 7 cards for an OTK is a little to much and will not happen very often. At this point I like the following OTK better although less flashy: Force of nature + 2x Innervate + 2x Stonetusk Boar + 2x Savage Roar for 32 damage also. It is also 7 cards but can be split easily if you manage to deal early damage to the enemy hero. Anyways deck is still pretty awesome hope you all have lots of fun trying it out.
I have to agree. The OTK requires a lot of cards and there's no draw engine to support it. Not to mention the fact that you're never going to get to turn 10 against any aggressive deck with this basically.
It's a fun and gimmicky deck but it's never going to be more than that I'm afraid.
Just add in more tech cards to beat agro. You win against control with your combo so not getting value is irrelevant. The issue I see here is grim patron. It comes before your combo and you just get wrecked. Fucking grim patron ruins everything.
I don't think this deck has any good matchups honestly, aside from maybe like fatigue mage. Because of how many cards you need for your combo, you need to get through basically your entire deck every game and that requires a huge draw engine, which this deck doesn't have.
Teching against aggro isn't as easy as it sounds, there aren't a lot of cards that are replaceable. I might be wrong about the aggro matchup, but I don't think I am.
It also doesn't automatically win against control. You still have to draw your entire deck with no hard removal and frankly not a sufficient draw engine to make it happen in time. Control warrior is almost an auto-loss with this deck for instance.
For this deck to stand a chance, I think it needs to take a completely different approach, more similar to mill druid than a standard druid. Like at least one Naturalize for hard removal, Starfall for AoE and Coldlight Oracle for draws. I don't know exactly, but something to that affect. Druid needs to fight for the board to survive and you can't do that with this deck, you're going to get destroyed by both aggro and control i m o.
i completely agree with you, i think i'll play this mostly for the fun of it
i mean from my perspective playing this in the rank 14 sweet spot of cool decks would be fun even if i end up loosing up to 4 stars the fun was had the rest is irrelevent and i could always re get my stars back easily with a real deck
the idea of a mill approach is intresting to solve the card draw problemes i'll try to think about something along those lines
thanks for the feedback i'll keep that in mind
And for that, you're the real MVP. Some people just forget sometimes that having fun while playing is the most essential part. I completely agree with you on that and that is why I will try this deck as soon as I have all the cards. And the idea from McBeard to build a triplicate your legends deck is amazing too. The three Kel having aviana on the board. How crazy could that be !? xD
