Hi.
I know the title looks misleading but it's true. I had an insane win rate from rank 3 to Legend. I might have also been the luckiest guy but let me explain why this deck worked.
First, I would like to detail my background a little. I started playing last May and besides the first two months, always been consistently rank 5 or better. I didn't have the time or energy to grind it out to Legend. This season was the first time I've achieved Legend. I was actually not planning for Legend this season but the deck just worked extremely well and got me there.
I was using different decks to rank 4 and 3 this season when I saw a shift in meta where there were more midrange/tempo and control decks appearing to counter the amount of zoos and hunters. I decided switch to Mech Shaman to counter those decks. Mech Shaman's pressure and progressing board presence with beefy minions performs very well against most control decks (Warriors and Handlocks, etc.). It's also good against Mech Mage (faced one) since shaman Mechs out values theirs. The weakness to Mech shaman according to Tempostorm were Zoo and Hunters. I faced a few but were able to pull off wins against them. Against them, it's all about the start and if you can get your early 1 or 2 drops, you can win. Rockbiter is good if you have coin. My matches against Hunters were Very Close! Fel reaver/bursts helps A lot.
Questions you might have:
Why two earthshocks?
- Pros - Helps against Twilight Drakes, Taunts, Mad scientists, Eggs, even a leper gnome/loot hoarder.
- Cons - Sucks have have two in your hand. You can replace this card with another mech, flame tongue, or Ragnaros.
Why Fel Reaver?
- Fel Reaver is a great body for 5 mana. The discard/burning of cards is not a huge drawback since you will win the game most of the time without going through your entire deck. Even if your opponent have a removal for him such as bgh, hex, siphon soul, execute, they would have wasted their removal and you still have big dudes coming in such as fire elemental and dr. boom.
- Play Fel Reaver as soon as you can and hopefully on curve (turn 5 or 4 with mech warper). Try not to play two Reavers at once. You will fatigue fast in that way.
- Weaknesses - cheap taunts (mirror image, annoyatron), sludge belcher, aldor peacekeeper, and bgh.
General Mulligan:
- Mulligan for 1 or 2 drop minions or a nice curve such as 1 drop, 2 drop, then 3 drop minion.
I usually won't keep a 3 drop minion unless i have something to play on turn 1 and 2 or if I have coin.
Priority cards are Cog Master, Mechwarper, Annoy-o-tron in your starting hand then Whirling Zap-o-matic.
- Depending on the match up, there are situational cards I would keep in my starting hand such as Earth Shock, Powermace with coin, and Rockbiter Weapon(with coin).
Some Tips on how to play:
- You first 3 turns are very important. If you have coin, mechwarper and annoytron in your starting hand. Don't coin mechwarper on turn 1, instead play mechwarper, coin annoytron on turn 2. This way your opponents will have more difficulty removing your two minions on their turn. Find ways to protect your mech warper or at least use its discount.
- Annoy-o-tron is a great card to protect your mech warpers, whirling zap-o-matics, and big minions.
- You want to play your minions on curve and do not hold back unless you suspect an AOE clear. This is an aggressive deck, you want to be playing minions every turn. If they do stabilize, you still have burst that can win you the game such as crackle, lava burst, rockbiter, doomhammer.
Combos - Rockbiter with doomhammer (10 damage). Rockbiter with whirling zapomatic (12 damage).
- Depending on the match up, you will need to control the board in the early turns, This is not an all face deck. Once you control the board, your big minions will do their job and can kill the opponent in two/three turns. *Don't use Fel Reaver to trade or attack their minions unless you need to prevent lethal, 90% of the time, he attacks FACE.*
- Power mace is a great weapon to gain tempo, it usually clears two enemy minions and can give your mechs a buff.
Additional comment added June 5th
- I just watched my friend play this deck and now I understand why some people are having trouble with it. The Early Turns are extremely Important! Sometimes they play themselves because of your starting cards, but there's definitely some decision making for optimal plays and what to trade and how. These are the tough decisions when you don't have an optimal starting hand. It can win or lose you the game by turn 4. Unfortunately, I can't elaborate more since it's depending on the match up and what minions your opponent have on board. As stated above, this is not an All Face Deck. You need to control the board in the early turns.
Substitutions:
Fel Reaver - Fireguard Destroyer, Mech Yeti
1 Earth Shock - Clockwork Gnome, flame tongue totem, Hex, Kezan Mystic
Doomhammer - Sorry, non replaceable. Too much burst potential
*New* Here's My Video Explaining the deck.

Thanks for reading. Feel free to ask questions below.
Hey this seems like an awesome deck. Currently im short of 1 doomhammer, 1 fel reaver and 1 dr boom. What should i replace them with,
Hi, there are no replacements for doomhammer, you can replace fel reaver and dr. boom with other mechs. :)
Replacement for Fel Reaver? Well, Millhouse Manastorm and Majordomo can lose your game almost as well. Rag has at least decent hero power, but if it seems like you're about to win, of course you can just afk.
I swear, this deck is psychological or something. When the Fel Reavers come out people give in to their darkest impulses, trying to mill you down. (That's a good thing!)
haha. I should write an article how to play against this deck. I haven't lost to mech shaman when I play against it on ladder.
Hey, awsome Deck! Thanks!
I played it a lot now and i rly dont like Flametounge Totem...what do you think is best replace fot it?
I am thinking about: Mechanical Yeti, Tinkertown Technician, Blingtron 3000, Enhance-o Mechano, Harvest Golem....
one flamtetongue is alway good. gives totoems attack value and land it beside a zapomatic for 10 damage
I find one to be fine as sometimes you don't have a good play and have to hero power a totem. If you don't like it, i suggest replacing it with a clockwork gnome. It will give you another early minion to take advantage of the board.
How would you respond to critics who say this deck is almost 100% reliant on a great opening hand, and terrible if you don't get that? Also I'm starting to see a lot of Harrison Jones right now so playing doomhammer can be an instant loss much of the time.
You can still do well with a decent opening hand even if you don't have a one drop. Having the coin (which is 50% of your games) will give you more flexibility on your starting hand. I have posted a picture on one of the past comments with having one of the worst possible starts with all 5-6 mana cards in mulligan and still came back to win. Of course this will not be the case most of the time but it's possible.
Another response may be, a lot of decks relies on a good or great opening hand. If you are playing a control deck vs an aggro and you don't have good efficient cards to deal with their early threats, you will most likely lose. Example is Warrior needing war axe, paladin needing zombie chow or shielded mini bot, druid needing swipe, wrath.
The same is true for playing an aggro deck, if you do not get good one or two drops, you are screwed in most match ups.
The deck has 8 minions of one or two mana costs and sometimes I sub in a clockwork gnome for a 9th minion. The majority of the time, you will have at least one of these minions in your starting hand with mulligan. If you have the coin, you can consider keeping a 3 drop such as power mace.
This is not the fastest aggro deck but each minion has good value and will trade well.
:) Have fun and thanks for trying out the deck.
You can watch me ;P
Since I do not stream, I recommend watching Professional players play the deck. You can check out Savj's stream from last month. You can also google mech shaman deck in tournament play to find some vods. You can also use this website to do a video search of pro matches.

Personally, I haven't play the deck much this and last season as I wanted to ladder to legend with different decks.
Cheers and have fun. :)
I have a couple questions for my friend. But to start off your deck is amazing. I subbed the Fel Reavers for Mech Yetis, its gotten me to rank 5 so far. I currently have dust for 2 Fel Reavers but I don't if there worth crafting. I'm also reluctant because I don't know if this deck is viable anymore in Season 16. After the season reset haven't been seeing much results as in Season 15. Once again thanks for your deck list.
Hi. I know it's quite a dust commitment on the fel reavers and if you want to craft more flexible cards, then I would skip this deck and skip fel reavers. The deck is a lot more consistent with fel reaver and I recommend playing it with them. The deck is a meta call and just like any deck out there, there's a time to use it and a time not to. Currently, I'm seeing a lack of zoo and hybrid/face hunters/paladins and it may be a good time to use this deck as it is favor in current match ups.
Thanks for the comment and have fun laddering.
What program did you use to track your games?

How About -Loatheb, +Harrison Jones ?
I haven't tried it so can't give you my exact thoughts. I would think it's fine but also think maybe an acidic swamp ooze will do the job in replacement of a harvest golem or flametongue totem.
Okay I made a comment previously but after 300+ games with Mech Shaman not necessarily this deck I think I can make a "informative" comment. Before I make comments I've made some changes, -Flametounge Totem and -Harvest Golem for +Ragnoros the Firelord and +Mechanical Yeti. Season 15 I made it to Rank 4 with your current version but this season i'm sure i can hit legend on the first day I made it to Rank 11 even beating Orange and ErA with my modified version. I do agree Face Hunter and Zoo are our worst matchups but for me Aggro Paladin has been too this deck is fine against Midrange Hunter as well. This deck if you get the early drops can beat any deck but without them you're going to lose to any deck. With the current Meta control in the 5+ Rank area this deck isn't too bad but there aren't enough Handlocks and Druids to feed on. Grim Patron for me is around 60% win rate and control Warrior a little higher. The Fel Reaver are very strong as if you get them out on turn 5 against an aggro deck your chances of winning are higher. With Rag in this deck your chances of winning are way higher against Freeze Mages becuase if they keep freezing your board you can't attack and the Fel Reavers just mill you out right away. For this Season I think Legend is possible but you do have to get lucky with your opponents this deck can be amazing and horrible Rank 5 is super easy to get with this deck but further on you need way more luck and skill GL to everyone and have fun laddering this Season may Vol'jin guide you.

Thanks for the comment. Your changes are fine and i think those changes reflects my friend phonetap's deck in his esl tournament. Both his and my version have pros and cons. Mine will try to secure more board on the early turns where his/yours will focus more on mid to late game. This deck will have unfavorable match ups against fast hunters, zoos and aggro pally because they are simply faster and gets more minions out. If you are facing those match ups often on ladder, i would suggest to use a different deck or make a slight change to have more ealry game minions. one change would be to add in two leper gnomes, two clockwork gnomes and take out the fire elementals, dr. boom and/or earthshock. Making these changes will make the deck weaker to patron warrior and some other control decks as aoe becomes more devastating.
it's always most difficult to climb the ladder in the first two weeks as you are playing some the best legend players on ladder who knows how to play the match ups correctly. it's little things such as tweaking the deck or switching to a different deck to fight against the meta that will help you go further.
Happy Laddering :) and GL on reaching Legend this season.
