I've noticed many decks have erred to some degree in the control side of the game since Blackrock has been fully released and people have become more familiar with all the new shenanigans that have come with it. While aggro is certainly still a thing and a weakness to this deck, I've been doing okay enough against them to reach rank 11 this season and 9 last season.

As the deck name suggests, your matches against other control decks will be favorable, but don't take this to mean it's an auto-win; you'll have to put in some work. Allow me now to take some time to explain my reasons for selecting and omitting a few of the cards I did.

Taunt Minions - There's one taunt in the 4, 5, and 6 card slots each, which I believe has allowed me to more consistently have one up when the need arises. Sen'jin Shieldmasta is your earlier one which is nice for taking out your opponent's early aggro game or just eating a weapon charge intended for something else. Sludge Belcher is simply good all around and Sunwalker is just a pain to deal with for both aggro and control.

Heals & Card Draw - For the heals I used to run Antique Healbot but it became apparent that it either just didn't do enough for the 5-slot or the heal simply wasn't going to keep me alive. Because of this I cut it in favor of Lay on Hands which heals for the same amount and draws 3 cards, but more importantly it frees up a 5 mana card. You might consider adding the Antique Bot in, but truthfully if you're in dire need of a heal you're toast anyway. You will see after playing this for a while that when the Control Warrior or whatever else plays the bot it merely buys them a turn at best.

Rend Blackhand - Poor ol' Rend, he's been getting a lot of flak lately. He's actually very good and pulls his own weight when you need him to, wrecking the opponent's BIG Play for free and whatnot. If you play him while you have a creature on board he's also a large threat, and even if he eats a BGH your opponent just wasted his or her hard removal on 4 HP which could have been used on Dr. Boom instead. Oh, and the animation is satisfying as hell.

Coghammer - One issue control decks have when facing more aggressive decks is the difficulty of trading very early on. Well, Coghammer allows you to give whatever minion you're using to trade with divine shield to take out another creature, taunt to take out another, and yourself a 2\3 weapon to help slay another to boot. Bonus points if the RNG gods bless your Hungry Dragon.

Kezan Mystic - Despite being potentially game changing when used appropriately, I believe this to be the weakest card in the deck. It does serve you well, yes, but it can easily be replaced. I have it added currently due to the popularity of the Flamewaker mage decks which run Mirror Entity, making most of our plays extremely awkward. Keep this card if you think it's appropriate, or pray for a chow topdeck.
