Thanks for front page, here's a more detailed strategy guide!

-----------

Mulligan for: cleave, fiery war axe, sheep

How it plays out: This is another one of those bosses where if he wasn't an idiot, he'd crush you. If all he ever did was hero power, you'd be dead real fast. Fortunately he likes to play cards in his hand instead! And those are terrible. His deck mostly consists of dragon minions and shadowflames / soulfires/ dragon's breaths. He will use those spells as soon as he can on basically anything. That's why 5 health minions are so awesome against this guy. All his spells deal only 4 and he usually shadowflames for 4 as well.  It's not uncommon to see him 3 for 1 himself on a sen'jin.
He starts with 30 armor. Once that's gone, he will summon Onyxia with a 2/6 weapon and 30 health. Her hero power is that Nefarian starts shooting fireballs at you each turn.
I believe the sequence is 1-2-1-4-0-20-20-20.... Something like that. I only let him get to 20 one time on purpose to see, but that means you have to kill Onyxia in about 6 turns.

When she dies, Nefarian comes back and kills all your minions.  Then he's mad and you kill him :,(

Strategy: This is a general survival game. Just survive his early damage as best you can and use your aoe / mctech to max value. DON'T EVER PLAY MCTECH WITHOUT IT TRIGGERING. At some point it's almost an absolute and total guarantee that he will have 4 minions. Your 5 health minions stall him out quite perfectly and weapons / aoe can finish off the larger minions. Try to get him to be Onyxia as fast as you can so he stops spamming 4/2s.

Once in Onyxia mode, this is where you set up for the win. She doesn't draw any bonus cards or do anything useful and she will just play as poorly as Nefarian, but without 4/2s to help. So just sit there building your hand and health as best you can and setting up deathrattles on board. If you can, leave her at 1 hp and set up a taunt too.
Trade away all your non-deathrattle minions into hers before you kill her as they'll die anyway. Ideally you want to kill her with a full 10 mana open to you for after she dies. So the turn before, you'd play a bunch of deathrattles and then the turn you kill her, you play 10 mana worth of other stuff.

Once Nefarian comes back, he should be greeted with a nice empty hand and no board on his side. So sad. At this point, just play a bunch of taunts and race him, don't waste time eating his 4/2s unless you're really afraid of shadowflame. Just stay above 4 health ( which isn't hard for warrior ) and kill him.
He does have a spell that deals 2 to all minions, so if you have a bunch of 2 health minions leftover, prioritize trading those away even if they're behind big taunts.

Replacements:  The legendaries are fairly replaceable.  Alexstrasza is the best one, but antique healbot could do the job ok here.

Legendary replacements:  Cairne, Chromaggus, Ysera, harrison jones, grommash, dr.boom, feugen/stalagg The idea is you just want value legendaries.

If you don't have more legendaries: Mountain/sea giants, piloted sky golem ( though the 4 hp is sort of bad ), siege engine ( lol why not ), arcane nullifier, darkscale healer, fen creeper, stormrpike commando

Shield slam / brawl: Those two cards are semi-important, especially shield slam. You can put in bouncing blade / crush if you have them. Otherwise harvest golems and mortal strikes could do.
