Well this guy's kind of a pushover really. 
He plays a somewhat slow deck, so don't rush to play spells to grow his weapon. 
Most of your cards will easily destroy his so just out-value him until the midgame where you start to freeze him every turn or where you destroy his weapon.

Then just remove his board once or twice or hide behind belchers while you work on his face. 

I ended up just Alexing down to 15 and punching him with my board, but I can't imagine having lost this fight as I had a 10 card hand thanks to Dr. Jones. I will say he's not necessary though.
