Hey guys! I'm Evangelion, a legend eu player member of the Samsung Gaming eSports Spain team. Shaman it's my main class, so im trying hard to find a useful deck in this meta!
I'm playing right now with this deck and I made it to top 50 legend. It's really good vs agro, and decent vs control matchups. Only handlock and rogue are hard right now.
The mulligan it's pretty standard. You want some cheap removal, one or two eggs and feral spirit. Against agro a fast start it's 70% of the game; if you can argus one egg with just a totem usually you have a huge advantage. Lava shock it's decent in my opinion, you have 7 overload cards; if you time it well it's useful in many situations.
The new grim patron deck it's a bit annoying I must say. You want to control the board since the beginning and try to push for damage early on. In my experience, if you have azure drake + storm one or two times when he's doing the combo, you have a huge chance of winning.
If you're playing against druid or handlock, keep one Hex if you can, inervate into something it's too much to handle sometimes. On the other hand, I find fireguard destroyer pretty awesome vs druid, he trades so well a lot of his stuff.
Oh! You can add a healbot and -1 piloted shredder if you're fighting a lot of face hunters. It's useful against the grim patron deck too and sometimes against druid or zoo. That hp its good enough to run out of the combo zone.
Love you all!
Works perfect! Gain control early, and win the game.
Replaced Neptulon and Al'Akir with belcher and Totem golem.
This deck feels very strong and well-rounded. I love the shaman legendaries, but in most decks they are too slow. Not in this one, where dragon eggs can give you the early explosive tempo required to survive until the late-game. Definitely one of my favorite shaman decks, right up there with Crusher Shaman. Cheers!
I want to start to play shaman, but I don't have any of the shaman legendaries. I got 1600 dust, which one should I craft. (I have all the other cards).
Al'Akir the Windlord. He functions as big finisher in this deck when coupled with 1x or 2x Rockbiter Weapon, giving the deck burst finish it otherwise wouldn't have.
Hi! The deck is good against aggro, not so good against control.
I complete my version of this with 1 bloodlust.
I don't have Alakir. Is it worth to craft or is there any replacement for him?
really high winrate. Looks like people forgot how to play against a shaman
i banged neptulon while al'akir watched... thoughts?
Don't laugh, it's not true and it's not even funny.
I haven't really messed with it that much yet but I noticed that a lot of games I'll end up with several eggs on the board and nothing to do with them so I took out the Piloted Shredder and replaced it with a Bloodlust. Now I only tried it in 1 game so far but that actually caused me to get the win as the warrior was ignoring my eggs and most of my totems. Thoughts?
I did that with al akir since I don't have him and use bloodlust as a win condition.
Could you please do an update on this deck and it's status? Do you even still use it as a main deck?
Siempre te veo en los streams, excelente como explicas. El deck muy bueno!
Regarding Piloted Shredder ... I find that this deck needs more taunts... Or something to deal with the agro that is prevalent at mid ranks
Thus far I have tried subbing Antique Healbot for Piloted, Sludge Belcher & also tried Senjin Sheildmaster... Thoughts?
I'm having trouble breaking the 12ish rank level.
i can't up from rank 16 with this deck :(
I was looking for a deck to place my Onyxia in. So I made a few changes:
- Lava shock
- Neptulon
+ Onyxia
+Bloodlust
turn 9 play a 9 mana minion then turn 10 buff them up! what could go wrong!
While I totally see your point, I have to think that Onyxia drawing one hard and one aoe removal might be a good scenario for you. And if Onyxia get's destroyed and the whelps live: gg with Bloodlust. I'd never rely on that combo to win me games all the time, but it's an additional threat in exchange for another threat in the case of Onyxia vs. Neptulon and the other part of the combo already synergises pretty well with the rest of the deck and will therefore not only be useful as a card in that specific combo.
Solid deck here. Kudos to Evangelion for putting this together and doing well with it on the legend ranks.
The beauty of the deck lies in opponents not wanting to touch the eggs so you can build a board in relative peace. For the ladder, try this
-Feral Spirit +Sunfury Protector
-Piloted Shredder +Dark Iron Dwarf
Sunfury gives you earlier taunts as well as a decent 2/3 body. DID is a huge tempo swing on turn 4 if you can pop an egg and take down an opposing creature at the same time.
The eggs really are a stroke of genius!
It's crazy how the BRM cards addressed Shaman's biggest weaknesses! Often we're... in theory... playing Totems early to have some board to pull off massive Flametongue combos, but as we all complain about, they just get run over and you stare at the FTT and cry... enter Dragon Egg. I'm a little disappointed because the 2/1 Whelp dudes just die due to Hero Powers, but with Shaman more than any other class, you'll have that one mana left over during a turn... and turning that one spare mana into not crying as you stare at your FTT, then killing a Knife Juggler and THEN wasting 2 opponents' mana on a ping? Hell yeah!
Add in Fireguard Destroyer that OWNS the mid-game, as your opponent sets up early aggression as you set up little eggs... then Fireguard is like RAWRRRRRR THIS BOARD IS MINE and wins. Can't believe how good of an anti-aggro tool he is, no matter the roll. :) It also is the perfect way to use the Coin, as sending this dude out turn 3 is almost unstoppable, while you don't feel guilty about your little Spirit Wolves. Haha.
Lava Shock is the icing on the cake, as it has certainly overperformed for me. Great deck! Thanks!
