Update: Having trouble getting it to work? I have substitution ideas later on in the write up. Maybe try this strategy with a different class, each class can work with this strategy, some better than others, I personally have won using this strategy with Warlock, Priest, Mage, Hunter, and Warrior.
Take advantage of drakkisath's Mindgames with the only minion in your deck, Majordomo Executus. and Lightbomb.
Mind Vision and Thoughtsteal can be used to fish for his copies of Drakkisath's Command and Twisting Nether if you don't start with Lightbomb
He plays Mindgames and summons your Majordomo Executus, you use Lightbomb(recommended) or other removal, then race ragnaros' hero power with spells
Here is some game play video courtesy of Kizaru1
Note: I tried to make the deck as cheap as possible, but I needed 29 spells, so some were bound to be useless. If you have the cards though, you can replace 1 or two of the useless spells, such as Shadow Word: Pain with a second Lightbomb or even your very own Mindgames
Having trouble getting Drakkisath to play his Mindgames? Consider adding 1 Doomsayer to your deck, turn 1 this can force Drakkisath to play Mindgames if he has it in his hand.
Proof of top three decks for BRM wing 3
Doesn't work anymore
I hated this boss so much. Beating him with mostly basic cards was a pain in the ass, even with the Majordomo cheesing approach. Definitely one of the least fun bosses, IMO.
Took me a few tries
I subbed in some newer cards like Mass Hysteria, Shadowreaper Anduin,Entomb, and Shadow Visions
Great deck, second try :)
Took me like 10 times but that's rng for ya. Thanks!
Mindgames picks a random minion Your chances would be insanely slim it would pick Majordomo Executus, way slimmer than him even playing Mindgames on Turn 1. The point of this deck is that there's only one minion in your deck for Mindgames to pick.
This is awesome! It took about 7 tries but I got it. Can't thank you enough. I tried a few other decks about a zillion times yesterday and failed.
Finally got it on my 947th go. Thought stole a twisting nether turn 1 & he played MG then drew into mindblast and embrace the shadow/light of the Nauru. Won with 2 hp.
Wow, win on first try, major domo'd turn 1, i had lightbomb and light of naaru, RNGesus on my side as rag hit my face twice, healed myself and killed him with lightwarden
Thanks a lot!
Worked like a charm, first try.
I don't have Lightbomb but Shadow Word: Death did the trick!
I must have just been extremely lucky, but got him first try with this strat. I had mindblast and power word death in starting hand, he plays mind games first turn, (i then draw Majordomo but luckily he had grabbed him in time), I kill majordomo, he does his thing, I draw my second mind blast and race him to the finish. Really couldn't have gone any better.
I didn't have Lightbomb but i got really lucky with SW:Death, Holy Fire x 2 on mulligan, He plays Mindgames Turn 1. GG.
thanks!
The main drawback of this deck is that a huge number of cards it does not work (Silence, Circle of Healing, Power Word: Shield, Shadow Word: Pain, Mass Dispel) or does not give you any advantage (Light of the Naaru).
Also, the main card of the deck Lightbomb was left in wild mode. New players haven't it and doesn't make sense to craft it. Optimally have two Lightbomb, and not one.
Next big trouble:
Definitely need put Doomsayer in this deck. And you must mulligan it and play on the first turn.
I tried this deck more than 30 times and all of them were a failure. Then I created a Mage deck (with freezing and removals) and it worked for 3rd time. I hope it will be useful to someone.
My deck. Open it and see perfect plan on match.
2nd try and I get it, thanks
This deck is the one that won me the challenge. A doomsayer on turn one (1) does not guarantee he will play mind games, but once he does, it makes all the 'restarts' worth it.
Excellent contribution!
It took about 30-40 tries for the RNG to fall right, but it works.
Beat him 3rd try turn 3. Honestly just takes luck, keep conceding until you get mind control/shadow word death in your hand, he turns 1 mind games and core hound, turn 2 mind control, turn 3 shadow word death and hit face
Been trying for 90-105 minutes.
He plays Force Tank and then Mindgames... and it grabs my doomsayer. AND I HAD MC AND SW:D IN HAND.
I was so bothered but could only be mad at myself for putting the doomsayer in my deck.
So I immediately take it out and next attempt he does the same exact thing and I manage to kill him; yasss.
But still... almost 2 hours of trying.
Thanks for help. It took at least 50 trials. I still don't know if it's worth it. This is not a good deck. But also, this is the fastest way to beat him probably. For those who will try this and for those who won't read the next pages of comments:
1) if you dont have both Mind Control and Shadow Word: Death, hard mulligan for them. if you don't have them both again, concede.
2) if you draw Majordomo Executus after mulligan or at t1 draw, concede.
3) if General didn't use his Mindgames at T2, concede it. Otherwise, even if you pass the first phase, you won't be able to stand alive.
4) Some people says you to include a Doomsayer in your deck. Don't! You have a very tiny chance to get correct sequence already, Doomsayer will divide that chance by 2.
5) if you complete those 4 steps, but General uses Kidnapper on the Majordomo or if he destroys your Mind Controlled minion by his "destroy a minion, gain 10 armor" abilty, concede again. You will definetely need that minion to kill Ragnaros, spells won't work since you will have 1 or 2 mana.
6) if Ragnaros kills your minion by his hero power or remaining minions (if three is), before you kill him, concede again. Even if you have Mind Blast, it won't be enough.
7) For the God's sake, notice how Blizzard games aim to make you sit in front of the pc. Don't be a loser like me, get a life!
It took me over an hour to get lucky with the RNG, but it finally worked after ~50 tries. Thanks for the deck, good idea.
