Mulligan for Kel'Thuzad to second turn (or behind a taunt).
Didn't need KT but you would need a really good hand. 2 taunts in the opening hand is great. Either taunt + divine shield or belcher.
Got him on the first try. Such skill!
did this with luck yes basically took manipulator got lucky he didn't kill kel at all had taunt up copied kel he flamedstrike killed 1 kel but it came back to life with 8 life only problem is u tend to have to many minions on field so u have to choose the minion u want to come back to life by killing it first and so on since your board will be filled from 2 minions coming back plus a kel
Finally! After countless attempts with various decks, I got him with this one. That's not saying that this deck is any better than any others. As I'm sure you've seen by now, it's all, literally, luck of the draw.
I decided to dedicate my lunch break today to getting through this and it worked!
To save you time as you try to beat this guy, here are a few "auto-concede" situations:
If any of those things happen, there is a really good chance you are going to lose quickly.
I got lucky and had KT and Tirion in my opening hand. Played Tirion on turn one. He then played Sprint and Kidnapperand threw it back. I put Tirion back out on turn 2. He survived by just losing his shield. I ran him into a minion to kill him and then played KT.
It was all over after that.
As others have pointed out, for some reason, if you have KT and a taunt on the board, Drakkisath simply won't attack. At all. He keeps loading up his board, but never does anything.
So I just kept loading my board. Used the weapon to clear a few scary minions and then just went face. A few turns later it was over.
But, as you see, the key here is that he never played Twisting Nether or bounced Tirion back with another Kidnapper or killed him with that annoying spell. He ran one Flamestrike at the end, but it didn't do anything or matter.
Beating this guy has a little bit to do with your deck and hand and a LOT to do with his hand.
Oh yeah, and I did it all on my iPhone. Screw you, Drakkisath! :)
Never even got KT but got this on my first try. Just good trading and went for face when I thought I was getting close and he had to start trading. Only changes I made was to add some belchers but never drew them either. Tirion saved me at the end.
Tirion was the reason I chose Paladin. Glad you made it work.
It really doesn't get any more ideal for turn 1 than this...yet, I still lose to that MFing kill+armor card! Maybe one day I'll get the RNG right, but who knows.....
I'm sorry, that's why I recommend Kel'Thuzad for 2nd round.
Update: Finally won (oddly enough, without seeing this reply yet) by waiting for 2nd turn for Kel'Thuzad :O
Congrats. =D
It only took me five hours...I have to wonder where Blizzard gets the idea that fights like this are fun for people.
Turn 1 Belcher into turn 2 Kel'Thuzad is a very strong opening. I did it first try, but i got very very very lucky.
He had no Twisting Nether and by the time he killed my Kel'Thuzad i already won. It's not a reliable deck but if RNGesus is on your side you should be fine.
OMG in your video where you won he doesn't once play twisting nether, kidnapper or that deal 10 damage gain 10 armor spell which constantly kill my Kel'Thusad over and over and over, like 54 tries in.....
You are SO SO lucky my friend.
loot of lucky
I passed this boss even without Kel'Thuzad. I just tried to trade well every turn. For me more important card was Stormwind Champion. It helps trade each turn with profit. Also taunts like: Tirion, Sun walker, Sludge Belcher helps to win some extra time.
But in general I think you need some luck: if he plays some removals like Twisted nether it can destroy all your plans.
Good luck!
Haha, if you were just "making trades" you weren't playing heroic.
Well, please have some patience. I didn't pass this boss from the first time either.
In general most dangerous minion of Drakkisath is Force-Tank Max because it has 7 attack and divine shield. Other minions has 6 attack. So with Stormwind Champion you can buff your minions and make favorable trades.
Try not to play Ragnaros on the empty board. For some reason in my case it always hit enemy minions and AI tries to kill him first.
I like Palladin because of Tirion Fordring. But probably Shaman with Ancestral spirit should also work.
Well, don't forget about Sylvana, Foe Reaper 4000, two Force Tank Max and Tirion Fordring has divine shield, plus I receive nice sword from his deathrattle. Ragnaros kills minions without receiving damage so with this minions you can trade more than 2 for 1.
In some bad situation you can clear board with Deathwing. So you can win even if Kelt'Thuzad didn't come to the second round.
Try yourself and you will see. I won with this strategy 3 times.
