In light of the new Blackrock release, I thought I'd make a deck that may prove effective on the ladder. This deck is partly based on Bloodlips' Tempo Mage deck that reached Top 1 EU, and it seeks to utilise what I consider to be the most powerful cards in the blackrock expansion for tempo purposes.

Card Choices:

Flamwalker is simply a great card, and will add more tempo to this deck than would otherwise be possible with mage. The card combos well with the spells in the deck and has a decent body.

Mirror EntityCounterspellSpellbender - I like to have a variety of secrets in my deck, as it makes it difficult for the opponent to predict your play. Spellbender is in my opinion potentially the best secret for this type of Mage deck, as it is often not expected. Some would argue that having both counterspell and spellbender will often work against each other, however, I have found that playing both secrets at the same time can make the opponent assume his/her spells will not be affected after he has first triggered counterspell. I have subsequently often found myself in situations where the opponent has used a very strong spell such as Blessing of Kings only to buff up my 1/3 spellbender target or, if you are lucky, use Mind Control.

Kezan Mystic - because of all the Hunters and Mages on the ladder.

Hungry Dragon - a very good body for 4 mana. Given that most 1 drop minions will only have 1 health, it is especially good to play a hungry dragon at turn 6, which allows you to use your hero power immediately onto the summoned minion.

Dr. Boom - still a very good 7 drop.

Emperor  Thaurissan - arguably the best legendary in the new blackrock expansion. The fact that he reduces the cost of all cards in your hand is almost silly, and I would argue that he will still provide good value even if removed immediately after you play him.

If the deck gets voted up I will expand on the card choices, include a mulligan guide, and elaborate on potential card swaps.
