How I muligan.
Mostly I just pick early stuff.
Without coin I don't keep truesilver neither shreder.
With coin you can try going for muster for battle + quatermaster.
Against druid, warrior, handlock I always keep aldor peacekeeper
I keep Consecration against paladin and never knife jugler due to minibot.
I don't like keeping knife jugler against druid due to keeper.
I guess that's all what I wanted to add in my small muligan guide. If you got some questions or just want to see how I'm playing this deck just follow my stream www.twitch.tv/11point5ft For real, follow or Sludge will eat you. Thanks and Gl on the ladder!
What would you replace with Emperor Thaurissan ?
Harrison Jones since Oil Rogue isn't very popular atm.
What would you replace with Emperor Thaurissan.
Replacement for Harrison Jones Don't have The Black Knight
Currently climbed to top100 with paladin that is very similar to this.
+ Acolyte of Pain Defender of ArgusRagnaros the Firelord Quartermaster
- Zombie ChowSludge BelcherMind Control Tech Kel'Thuzad
Personally I am just not that fond of Zombie Chow anymore especially since Undertaker nerf. I also really enjoyed Ragnaros as of late; really improved rogue, mage and hunter match ups for me since none of those decks really run the greatest answers to him and all of them are really popular.
Nice deck! Gonna try today.
didn't play this season up until a few days ago, climbed from rank 21 to 10 with a deck like this in just a few sittings. subbing out Dr. Boom, Kel'Thuzad, and Mind Control Tech for The Black Knight, Ragnaros the Firelord, and Coghammer
Was doing beautifully with this deck till I faced 4 Face Hunters in a row. MCT doesn't get its value in a lot of my games, might go with Earthen Ring Farseer or Cogmaster. Maybe even a Kezan Mystic?
I feel like +1 Zombie Chow for something else might be more reliable vs Aggro meta too. I lost some games vs Mech Mage cause I drew the bottom end of my deck.
Yeah I swapped out mct for kezan and I am very happy with it. I was getting destroyed my aggro before I made the switch and now I'm very comfortable with it.
please help!!! im wondering about when to mullagain adlor peacekeeper and muster for battle. Muster i allways mullagain against druid and rouge, unless im going second and have a zombie chow cuz then i can chow and then coin it out and usually get 2 turns of value out of it before they get swiped.
Aldor peacekeepr im having a lot more trouble figuring out. can someone help me answer the following question
When should i mullagain aldor peacekeeper when im going first and have no lower cost minions?
When should i mullagain aldor peacekeeper when im going second and have no lower cost minions?
Against certian classes should i be more inclined to mull it? (I usually mull adlor peacekeeper agains druid and warrior, keep it if im playing hunter/warlock/mage)
If I may ask... What deck tracker are you using to record your games? I've seen others use the same tracker but I haven't a clue what it is. Thanks.
Apart from the amazing matchup that Paladin has against Warrior, the rest are more or less 50-50 unless you are facing rogue, where it's almost an autoloss.
No matter how you twist and turn it, the midrange list is exactly the same during the last 2 months (1 zombie chow, no zombie chow, 2 zombie chows, Ragnaros over Kel'thuzad....or a Coghammer over a 3 drop....that's the sum of the differences between lists).
It's typical that you struggle in the ladder because most of the times the outcome of a game is a cointoss. Midrange paladin is a solid deck and it can get you to legend but you need lots of time and patience to do so.
I saw Massan running this deck a week or two ago, and I'd have to say it's probably one of the more flexible decks out there. The only deck I'd say I have trouble against at the moment is Face/MidRange Hunter, which I am seeing less and less on the ladder. I do think that Kel'thuzad can sit in your hand for a bit too long sometimes though. Overall, this deck is very flexible, but unless you know for a fact that your opponent has used his AoE, hold back a bit and play conservatively. The only draw you have is Lay on Hands, so if you dump your whole hand just so it can all be destroyed in one turn, you're gonna have a bad time.
This deck has quite the heavy dust cost to it, and rightfully so since it's such a sturdy deck. I won't touch the rares/epics, people will have to bite the bullet on those (and naxx cards), but I'll put in some strong replacements for the legendary cards; to make the deck a bit more accessible to newer players without a bulky collection stocked up and try to supply reasoning as to why I chose each card.
Harrison Jones taken out for an Acidic Swamp Ooze
-Both cards have the same function, but Harrison allows you to gain much needed card draw. Although on some classes this may feel like a dead card, as it's basically a reverse Chillwind Yeti that costs 1 more mana. Acidic Swamp Ooze is thankfully a 3/2 for 2, relatively standard in stats and can destroy a weapon potentially. If you take this card and are replacing other legendaries as well, I suggest something that does card draw in some way. Also Ooze is available to all players, as it is basic.
Tirion Fordring taken out for Stormwind Champion
-I'm not gonna lie, it sucks to replace this card. It REALLY sucks to replace this card, but some people don't have the ability to put their faith in the light just yet. The Stormwind Champion boasts solid stats with a solid ability, and is worth the singular deck slot if you have a few minions on the board already. It's quite the surprise too, almost no one expects it. I did personally swap my Tirion for this card just to make sure it was functional before posting this. And as Tirion would surely be stronger of a choice, Stormwind Champion can fill his shoes until then, and he's part of the basic set to boot.
Sylvanas Windrunner taken out for Faceless Manipulator or Stampeding Kodo
-Another difficult card to replace, as it's function is so unique, no other card really acts like it. Faceless Manipulator can potentially copy something very large, or you could try the Aldor Peacekeeper -> Stampeding Kodo combo to clean up a singular, very large minion.
Dr. Boom taken out for Stormwind Champion or Guardian of Kings
-They occupy the 7 mana slot, and are all quite strong. Although the difference is that the Champion can't really be played on an empty board, you need board presence established to make him a worthwhile play. Guardian of Kings on the other hand is a solid minion with a Holy Light to yourself attached. Pretty nice, and both of these cards are part of the basic set (although you must level up paladin for Guardian of Kings).
Hope this helped newer players! If nothing else, it'll still be a solid ladder climbing deck to play around with. I personally enjoy it quite a lot and use it whenever paladin appears on my daily quest.
As expected, a very sturdy deck. I don't have a Harrisson so I put in TBK instead since Druids are a thing and most decks run sludge belchers
maybe is not playing the game since was launched, why are you hater? its not your problem if he doesent have those cards, insead giving him an advice you jump on him. get a life kid
I've been experimenting with card substitutions and was curious what your thoughts were, specifically removing Zombie Chow and Mind Control Tech for more consistent anti-aggro cards like Earthenring Farseer. I kind of feel the deck lacks a non-conditional 3 drop because you want to save your Aldor Peacekeeprs until they can get value, Mind Control Tech usually takes a token or nothing at all and Zombie Chow, while really good, makes a slow clock even slower some times.
Like Truesilver, I really like it when your healing options are also your offensive/removal options rolled into the same cards, I'm also kind of hoping 2xEarthen could potentially replace Healbot as a low value card in the control mirror but 8 life is so clutch vs aggro.
I made changes like this and it's greatly helped me out. I didn't make the same change as you, but it was the general concept. I was trying to play mid-range Paladin with a deck that felt it had too many tech/conditional cards. I removed a Coghammer for a second zombie and defender of Argus for a Sky Golem. Even with missing the 3 and 4 drop, I've felt much better having a greater chance for that chow and also an additional option on 6 other than Sylvanas.
What do you think about taking out the Mind Control Tech for a second Quartermaster? Is second quartermaster bad? I want to run a second one, and i think Mind Control Tech is the one to take out.
Yeah MCT seems the most dispensable card in the deck. Looks like a good swap for another QM.
