OP Af . 9 and a half hours to legend from rank 16 was the third or fourth person to hit legend this season.
WARNING: for all the people who does not understand the concept of meta i will explain it. I played this to legend in the first two days, there were no heavy control decks so this list is made to beat aggro which is why there is no owls etc. If your playing this now you would need to change the list. I have posted the deck i used a couple off days ago to reach #2 again in the comments and a deck similar to this would be good in this meta. You will most likely need to change the deck until it works the best against what your facing on ladder so if you do not understand how to make decks this is not something for you
@Xzirez - I always like your decks and write-ups. Thanks so much for taking the time to put these together and answering so many questions. What are you playing during the new May season? Grim Patron has become one of the most popular decks due to Xixo and it being so cheap and is heavily favored against midrange pally.
I dont know yet i havent played much before today. I played a mixture of paladin and flamwaker aggro mage from 9-3 today which i think is both pretty strong decks, but i am not sure what will be good in the coming weeks.
This is the mage i played which was the best and ended up streaking the most

Removed 1 Haunted Creeper for an Ironbeak Owl to deal with the filthy Midrange Druids and Sludge Belcher. Carried me to Rank 5 within a couple of days(I don't play much because of college) Great deck!
Because this is from the first two days off the season were people weren't playing the same decks there playing now.
I play a lot of face hunter (hate all you want, it is a good deck) and I'd say this list as of today is inferior to more typical face hunter decks with double owl double worgen infiltrator. This deck had a good little run, but for some reason seems like it is just not as good any more. lack of owls makes it much less consistent then typical face hunter mentioned above, and high curve can lead to bad draws. normal face hunter highest drop is 3 mana (unless you play leeroy, which right now seems weaker). it is fun to win some games later then turn 6, 7 and 8 with this deck with an unexpected dr boom, especially when they played BGH as an not stealthed jungle panther earlier in the game to try and remove your smaller crappy minions, they just get devastated.
Currently, I think the face hunter topping out at 3 mana is the best iteration. Something like chakki typically plays, with just two explosive, or you can sub and play around with misdirection or even freezing. so many good ways to run it, but pure super aggro double explosive seems very strong right now imo- ESPECIALLY now that people think zoo is "making a come back" - which in part it has. Thanks to the tempo mage that has been popping up, zoo is back around because they out tempo that tempo mage most times, also zoo does fairly well against midrange hunter, which seems suicidal to play right now on ladder.
A hybrid is at least for me the best thing. I have played this deck three times now this season with different cards for different metas and every time ive ended up getting a couple wins into #2. I dont know why people do better with normal face hunter as i find it to be an auto lose to druids, warriors and a about any deck with a good heal/taunt draw. This list is kinda out dated now but i only changed 2-4 cards the last two times i played it. With aggro decks its very hard to make a good list but when you find 1 there usualy extremly op and easy to play. Last time i played i added highmanes and an owl to deal with warriors/druids and streaked for 18 games before losing some in a row. Dr boom and loatheb was only played because of all the fast decks. alot of these cards are meta cards which are swapped in and out depending on the meta. I would assume people arent swapping cards out and are going full retard face with this decks is the reason why s standard face hunter is easyer for them. Chakkis hunter is 100% worse then this deck and that i can say for certain. with only small minions you have no recovery option its either full yolo no aoi or nothing. Imagine opponent druid innervates kepper into swipe turn 4 how are you supposed to win if all your minions gets killed by swipe? You have no way to win if you only go face since druids are gonna put up a huge amount of taunts and combo you for the win when there board is big enough. If you play bigger minions and freezing your gonna make there removal be less effective and slow down there tempo by sending there minions back. Normal face hunter has so many weaknesses that i think its a miracle people can even think its better.
The reason i make it this far in legend every season is not because i play well its because i know how to adapt and make decks. I can write something like "add different cards for different metas" but if i were to i would have to make maybe a page or two about possible cards to use, when to use them and it would basically be a full guide on how to make decks as this is what is needed. Knowing what cards to replace when and with what is not something i can just write short in the desc. If people would be interested in this i would make something like a guide but no one has ever asked for one. If i had a lot of views on my decks or i knew i would get a lot of views on a guide i would make one for every possible archtype in this game an update it once a week with new meta cards and possible replacements but as long as very few people actually notice my decks i won't use a lot of time making long guides no one will read. I like taking my time making thing to make sure there good.
You don't know shit then lol
Xzirez,
Just registered to say I would be very interested in these kind of guides. I can play to legend given a list, but adapting is one of my weaknesses. So count me as the first person to ask! I am sure other people will follow.
Hay there, a noob here! Stuck at rank 17 with "most of this deck" (I replaced Mad Scientists and Loatheb with Stranglethorn Tiger and Ironbeak Owls until I collect enough money to finish Naxxramas and Leeroy Jenkins with Argent Commander and Dr. Boom with Ragnaros the Firelord since I have neither currently. I know it's a lot of replacements but I don't have the ability to get the others at the very moment so bear with me)
Most of the games I lost I lost to card disadvantage. To clarify, I don't go for face all the time, I go for trades when I feel the need. So I was wondering shouldn't aggro decks have some draw mechanism somewhere? What am I doing wrong? Are my replacements terrible and there are better ones?
Thanks in advance to anyone who answers <3
Tiger for loatheb is fine but i would rather play a second arcane golem instead of ragnaros and a clockwork gnome or a second glaivezooka instead of argent commander. U should try and get scientist but you can play without it, i made legend on na without him
Okay thank you both for the help! I am currently saving for Naxx and I will try around with some of the replacements you both suggested, mostly to Argent and Ragnaros (with another Arcane Golem and Clockwork Gnome) because I feel they are both pretty slow and I suppose that defeats the purpose of the deck
Thanks Xzirez for the amazing deck
Make sure from turn 3 on you are using your hero power every turn, unless you have a very good reason not to. That will aid you in not running out of cards.
Also you want to try to hit face almost every time. Trading as this type of Hunter is usually not a good idea. You can trade some of your health with weapons for a board that your opponent can't deal with, but other than that, it's almost always a bad idea to trade. Maybe that's where you need to get better. I'm not saying that's the definite cause, but you may want to watch some streamers play similar decks.
Sorry about the brief description! Good luck!
I'm wondering what could be subbed for ironbreak owl/hunters mark? Facing a lot of taunts.. thanks!
I have made mulligans for other decks but its hard to make a good mulligan guide because there is so much variance i mulligans and when i do end up making one people still ask what to mulligan for so i just couldnt be asked making a half decent guide. If i were to make a guide it would be because one of my decks were to be featured somewhere . If one off my decks get a lot of attention i also try to make one.
I like the deck, but i replaced the Leeroy with a Kezan Mystic, and the card alone have won me 3 games out of 8. I think you should consider it
That is true. I was facing lots of mages and hunters(with this deck), so i had alot of succes. I am not playing hunter when i get past rank 8. I just play it for the fast wins, from 15-9, where there is alot of secrets.
After playing few games and witnessing some ragequits, i'm starting to feel guilty for playing this deck lmao >.<
You should feel more 'mentally slow than 'guilty bud.
