edit after TGT launch: This was the only high rated Paladin Murloc deck pre TGT. It might have inspired Blizzard to create Murloc Knight!
edit after LoE launch: Thank you for Sir Finley Mrrgglton, Blizzard!! He fits 100% in this deck. Anyfin Can Happen IS SO AMAZING!! The deck is now more midrange / control.
I reached Legend with this fantastic Murloc-deck at the end of January 2015. Originally it was designed as a fun-deck. I used it only for the final push from Rank 1 1Star to Legend. I was on a roll, so maybe it was a little bit lucky.
Mulligan:
best: Zombie Chow, , Sir Finley Mrrgglton, Shielded Minibot, Haunted Creeper, Muster for Battle
good: Argent Protector (only with Zombie Chow or a good 2 drop with coin), Avenge, Murloc Tidecaller, Knife Juggler
ok: Puddlestomper, Murloc Tidehunter, Bluegill Warrior
never: all other cards
Strategy: Originally this was an aggro deck. But I recognized that this midrange version is a lot more stable.
The first 3 turns are the most important. If you can establish board control, you have a high chance to win the game.
Trade your divine-shields against minions or use it to protect key-minions like Murloc Warleader. Keep your murlocs alive as long as possible and then buff it up with Coldlight Seer.
If you have Divine Favor on your hand, try to use all your mana crystals to empty your hand as fast as possible.
The disadvantage of this deck is the difficulty to handle it. It needs a lot of practice.
Matchups: (Pre TGT!)
best: Midrange Druid, Priest, Mech Mage, Warrior, Shaman
50/50: Hunter, Ramp-Taunt Druid, Handlock, Rogue
worst: Zoolock, Midrange Paladin
Hero Power to choose from Sir Finley Mrrgglton:
1. Warlock (only when low on cards and no Divine Favor or Coldlight Oracle in hand)
2. Priest (if you have already a minions on the board you can heal)
3. Rogue (if you need help to gain boardcontrol)
4. Mage (if you need help to gain boardcontrol, but weaker than Rogue, because you deal only 1 damage for 2 mana, and your hero-health doesn't matter)
5. Druid (worse as mage or rogue)
6. Hunter (only if you need the final burst)
7. Shaman (don't choose)
8. Warrior (don't choose)

Man I'm getting a lot of hate for playing this deck. I'm not even doing that well with about a 50% winrate, but its basically a non stop barrage of emotes and friend requests just to shout at me. Isn't this deck something different to play against at least? I find it takes more thought and strategy than zoo lock / hunter too.
Lost the first try against a shield warrior :c
gonna try again
Didn't had avenge so I put juggler and blessing of might instead. Instead of light's justice used justice sword
It's a quite interesting deck. I'm super excited to play this. I'll test this out and get back to you!
Don't waste your time, effort or dust on this deck. It's fun to play around with in casual mode, but don't expect to win. Today's meta is completely geared towards stopping aggro and they stop this one quite easily. The minions are too small and easily removed before buffs and not that hard to do after. I spent the better part of the last three hours trying to make it work. I lost 3 levels before I finally deleted this deck. It was funny when it worked. I just wish it work more than 15% of the time. I still gave you a +1 for the effort.
I'm obsessed with murlocs, but mechs as the new "tribe" are just so, so much better. I feel like Blizzard had a fun idea with murlocs, but really perfected the execution with mechs. Murloc synergy is significantly worse, it seems to me, than mech synergy.
Couple this with the new meta atmosphere, and I agree that murlocs are pretty much a non-starter right now. Which breaks my heart, because I'm obsessed with goofing off with off-beat murloc decks.
if you could put muster for battle and quartermaster in this it would be incredible
by turn 4 or 5 you can have several 9/6s on the board, four or five
how you say?
warleader, 2, and if you want to rock somebody, like some giants, faceless your war leader and you'll have 3
i'm goint to try this deck
Just went from level 17 to 20 with this BAD boy. Lost 10 of 11. I gave it a good try but it did awful against everybody. I used to do very well with Shockadin before Belcher. Everybody is ready for aggro these days and this deck cannot get over the hump :-(
How is this favored against handlock?
Turn 3 = hellfire
Turn 4 = 8/8 or 4/8
Turn 5 = Sludge Blecher
how do you beat that?
we will have to agree to disagree. I played for six hours yesterday and every other match was handlock. i saw hellfire every single match on turn 3. Turn 4 was either ancient watcher, 4/x drake, or giant. turn 5 was belcher. Please tell me how you beat that? board wipe, big minion, taunt tha death rattles taunt.
start of a new season means lots of handlock it's everywhere and they all run double hellfire. when i play handlock and see paladin i mulligan for it thinking muster fir battle. murlocs is just as easy to clear.
Lol I like how you're getting criticized for telling people how to play your own deck, which you did, to much greater success
Unless you made these changes and hit legend, I"m still going with the kid who hit rank 2. There is a reason for each and every card in his deck, and this is coming from someone who has spent hours studying murlocs and thinking about deck archetypes. @Fliesnmalauk I love this deck. I think people are misunderstanding how the deck works, because this deck wins every time unless you get a terrible (and I mean terrrible) draw. I am not criticizing you Llynok, your deck is fine, but it does not accomplish what Flies' deck wants to accomplish! And bro, if you get farther up the ranks than Flies, which you most likely wont, great job m8ie.
The lack of any evidence that this deck got to legendary should set alarm bells ringing.
But this season is february, not not january as you said? :p
Nobody posts proof of legend these days everyone just says it.
after few games I felt like it's a waste of dust. (Rank 13, not legend even). I won only against people who didn't get early board control.
crafted some cards to try this deck.
wasted dust
Definitely a fun deck, but gets destroyed by big minions with taunt. Would probably recommend something to deal with handlocks playing 1 mana 8/8 giants. Will probably try an Equality like you said.
Proof of legend would be nice, because in 4/5 times I get absolutly crushed with this deck at rank 4-5.
Love the deck, very fun to play. Thoughts on a Quarter Master? Sometimes I get a bad draw and count on my hero power. I Might cut some of the lesser value minions for a muster or two aswell. I'm going to test -2 Murloc Raider, and +2 Muster for Battle. Also I will drop one Agrent Protector for a Quarter Master.
