StrifeCro took the originial deck to 33 ranked wins in a row on EU in January.
KEY UPDATES:Basic mulligan lists, new meta changes!
I managed to reach legend with this deck! (rank 5 - legend)
My record starting from rank 5
I chose to swap out a number of Strifecro's original deck as the meta is shifting and I am testing out new choices. Feedback appreciated.
CARD CHANGES:
+1 Troggzor the Earthinator
-1 Dr. Boom
+1 Cult Master
-1 Acolyte of Pain
+1 Blood Knight
-1Mind Control Tech
+1Acidic Swamp Ooze
-1Knife Juggler
I was not getting much value out of Acolyte of Pain and am testing out a Cult Master in his place. The synergy with Muster for battle and the general number of times you hero power really help Cult Master see value.
As for Dr. Boom, I found that with the abundance of BGH out there, it was seeing very little value as the only 7+attack minion. Troggzor has great stats without being in BGH range, and combos well with this deck and Tirion.
I believe it is important to note that before you make any changes to this deck, look at the curve and try to stick to it. The curve of this deck is a large part of why it works so well, and fudging the numbers could hurt chances of having good plays turn after turn.
Update 2: Will be looking at the decklist as meta stabilizes post-undertaker nerf. Also, Tales of Lumin put in the time to create a quick overview video of this deck and agree it should be on this page.
Update 2/3/15: New changes to move with the meta post-Undertaker nerf. Mech mages are rampant so I am testing to increase this decks odds of winning that match-up while remaining strong against other classes.
General Mulligans: Shielded Mini-bot, Knife Juggler, Muster for Battle, Aldor Peacekeeper
Against Aggro: Consecration
Mage specific: Blood Knight
Rogue/Warrior: Acidic Swamp Ooze
Paladin: Acidic Swamp Ooze + Blood Knight
Priest: Piloted Shredder(If you have coin)
Warlock/Druid/Hunter/Shaman: Follow general mulligans.
Replace 1x Shielded Mini-bot with a Holy Shock (or whatever that 2/6 health recovery card is called).
Going to give it a whirl, no Dr. Boom though :( think I'll sub in KT or Rag maybe? See how it goes.
^ got downvoted just because he said no Dr.Boom. I lol'd
The guy who posted the deck said that be subbed troggzor and got legend, so you should be fine with KT or rag. I would use KT though because everyone runs bgh these days to counter boom so why not give your opponent a dead card?
Why the Piloted Sky Golem over Cairne Bloodhoof? for 1 less stat on the initial body you have a guaranteed yeti on death with Cairne while with piloted shredder you get overall worse minions.
Also why the Acolyte of Pain? Is it to counter Muster for Battle and Snake Trap?
EDIT: It's quite sad to get "disliked" just for posting a question aimed to make you understand the deck better.
Piloted Sky Golem because in Strifecro's own words, he feels that Cairne is often ignored, while Sky Golem is a bigger initial threat and must be dealt with while Cairne is just a yeti body.
The big reason a lot of people prefer Piloted Sky Golem to Cairne is that the Golem trades with the prevalent 5/5s, including Loatheb, Sylvanas, and a lot of the new GvG cards. Before Naxx, Cairne was better since there weren't many (any?) of these cards.
Now chows, now coghammer, this must get rekt by aggro. Also, why only one equality?
Because he knows how to play his deck?
I would love a guide for this deck. Not really sure best way to mulligan for match ups. I am just learning Paladin and am running about 50/50 around rank 5. I hope there are some Vods for his run. If anybody else feels inspired to do a write up or post some video it would be well received!!
He used [card]Sylvanas Windrunner[/card] instead of [card] Piloted Sky Golem[/card] because he doesn't have [card] Piloted Sky Golem[/card] on his EU account. I watched most of his run and he explicit stated that he thinks Golem is better in the deck and he runs it with Golem on NA (#1 legend)
Thanks, someone misinformed me on Reddit.
