StrifeCro took the originial deck to 33 ranked wins in a row on EU in January.
KEY UPDATES:Basic mulligan lists, new meta changes!
I managed to reach legend with this deck! (rank 5 - legend)
My record starting from rank 5
I chose to swap out a number of Strifecro's original deck as the meta is shifting and I am testing out new choices. Feedback appreciated.
CARD CHANGES:
+1 Troggzor the Earthinator
-1 Dr. Boom
+1 Cult Master
-1 Acolyte of Pain
+1 Blood Knight
-1Mind Control Tech
+1Acidic Swamp Ooze
-1Knife Juggler
I was not getting much value out of Acolyte of Pain and am testing out a Cult Master in his place. The synergy with Muster for battle and the general number of times you hero power really help Cult Master see value.
As for Dr. Boom, I found that with the abundance of BGH out there, it was seeing very little value as the only 7+attack minion. Troggzor has great stats without being in BGH range, and combos well with this deck and Tirion.
I believe it is important to note that before you make any changes to this deck, look at the curve and try to stick to it. The curve of this deck is a large part of why it works so well, and fudging the numbers could hurt chances of having good plays turn after turn.
Update 2: Will be looking at the decklist as meta stabilizes post-undertaker nerf. Also, Tales of Lumin put in the time to create a quick overview video of this deck and agree it should be on this page.
Update 2/3/15: New changes to move with the meta post-Undertaker nerf. Mech mages are rampant so I am testing to increase this decks odds of winning that match-up while remaining strong against other classes.
General Mulligans: Shielded Mini-bot, Knife Juggler, Muster for Battle, Aldor Peacekeeper
Against Aggro: Consecration
Mage specific: Blood Knight
Rogue/Warrior: Acidic Swamp Ooze
Paladin: Acidic Swamp Ooze + Blood Knight
Priest: Piloted Shredder(If you have coin)
Warlock/Druid/Hunter/Shaman: Follow general mulligans.
i switched a knife juggler with harrison jones.. works better for me at rank 7 + , amazing deck thanks !
I really like this deck and has a fair chance of wining. I don't have Tirion but Rag works out great in his place. I also run Sylvanas in place of Sky Golem and works out well. However, I am unsure about Purifier. Some times works out great but other times seems like there could be something better. Also, Dr. Boom tends to get killed off by BGH. I mat craft Sky Golem in his place or maybe next pack I will get lucky.
I really liked the deck but I don't have BGH, Troggzor and Black Knight, so I replaced them with 1 more equality, 1 sun walker and 1 defender of Argus, was that a smart thing to do? If not, please give me some advice on how to make my deck better :D (I don´t have many epics or legendaries and sorry if I misspelled something, English isn't my main language)
I'd like some thoughts on this as well. I too do not have troggzor or black night. Any replacement suggestions would be appreciated.
When I replaced acolyte with Cult Master it seems to be doing even better how do you feel about the it and it's place on the curve?
It is a possibility. It's a slight change of the mana curve so it could work out pretty well.
The new weapon / miracle Rogue has an edge against this deck, but this is pretty much the best all-around deck you can find now. Used it to get up to rank 1, then aggro mech mage to legend.
Yes, after the undertaker nerf I feel that rogue will become more relevant in the meta, which can be troublesome because of the blade flurry/fan of knives potential on our Muster for Battle and general massing the board strategy.
It's a trade off though, since hunter has disappeared... for now.
Woul kt be good here for boom/troggzor
It can work because we generally end up with a decent number of minions on the board, but I feel that KT works best with a good number of taunts to help protect him. This deck only runs 3 taunts.
Instead of using an Acolyte of Pain or a Scarlet Purifier I've chosen the Sword of Justice and it's treating me just good. What do you guys think?
BTW, Nice deck. Really fun to play with.
EDIT: Just found out that Sword of Justice is an excellent combo with Muster for Battle !
I thought about trying Sword of justice, but I felt that with 2x Muster, 2x Truesilver, and Tirion weapon - this deck has plenty of weapons and can be a bother to play this weapon around those. It only really combos with Muster for Battle and just about nothing else.
This makes the card very hard to play and instead I would rather field another minion in the card slot.
I Dont feel safe playing one equality
I think it's fine running one since you have a multitude of removeal options in this deck and good board presence if you play it correctly.
I also just reached legendary this night with a somewhat similar deck. I also only used 1 equality... and I never missed the 2. one
But I dont like the choice of piloted sky golem... (why at least not the cairne?)... in stead I used sneeds old shredder, and that gave me an edge in pala vs pala.
I also played with kezan mystic... So many mage/hunters atm.
the reason they dont user cairne is because it doesnt trade with sludge beldger well, if it was mage it would be ok cuz you can ping it etc but pally can struggle doing one damage. im sure the shredder works out great in the control matchup, anyway congrats.
Thanks for the explanation :)
I love this deck against everything but aggro. I often have a good play for turn 3 onwards, except stupid op stuff like undertaker and micro machine is too far ahead by that point. Find myself burning through my consecrates and belchers and never catching up. Once the ut nerf is put in place, maybe it won't happen quite as much.
Cro addded another antique healbot instead to deal with agro u noobs :D
wooo troggzore addition! i had 3200 dust when gvg came out, made malorne and trogg because of the hype, and i only regret malorne. troggzore is amazing value in the right locations, so long as your opponents on-board damage is less than 6+tauntwall value, then he is an amazing play, especially since no one runs a charge big enough to kill him suddenly. love the change
