StrifeCro took the originial deck to 33 ranked wins in a row on EU in January.
KEY UPDATES:Basic mulligan lists, new meta changes!
I managed to reach legend with this deck! (rank 5 - legend)
My record starting from rank 5
I chose to swap out a number of Strifecro's original deck as the meta is shifting and I am testing out new choices. Feedback appreciated.
CARD CHANGES:
+1 Troggzor the Earthinator
-1 Dr. Boom
+1 Cult Master
-1 Acolyte of Pain
+1 Blood Knight
-1Mind Control Tech
+1Acidic Swamp Ooze
-1Knife Juggler
I was not getting much value out of Acolyte of Pain and am testing out a Cult Master in his place. The synergy with Muster for battle and the general number of times you hero power really help Cult Master see value.
As for Dr. Boom, I found that with the abundance of BGH out there, it was seeing very little value as the only 7+attack minion. Troggzor has great stats without being in BGH range, and combos well with this deck and Tirion.
I believe it is important to note that before you make any changes to this deck, look at the curve and try to stick to it. The curve of this deck is a large part of why it works so well, and fudging the numbers could hurt chances of having good plays turn after turn.
Update 2: Will be looking at the decklist as meta stabilizes post-undertaker nerf. Also, Tales of Lumin put in the time to create a quick overview video of this deck and agree it should be on this page.
Update 2/3/15: New changes to move with the meta post-Undertaker nerf. Mech mages are rampant so I am testing to increase this decks odds of winning that match-up while remaining strong against other classes.
General Mulligans: Shielded Mini-bot, Knife Juggler, Muster for Battle, Aldor Peacekeeper
Against Aggro: Consecration
Mage specific: Blood Knight
Rogue/Warrior: Acidic Swamp Ooze
Paladin: Acidic Swamp Ooze + Blood Knight
Priest: Piloted Shredder(If you have coin)
Warlock/Druid/Hunter/Shaman: Follow general mulligans.
What i really think would help us lot is for the author to include exactly which cards is he looking for to mulligen agaisnt each class and archtype. Also to figure when to coin swarm the first and 2nd round for defense and when not to.
After that i believe everyone could manage to work with this.. Or it just doesnt work in the current meta, i made it to rank 8/9 last season, now i cant break rank 16/17
Maybe it's because the season just started.
Legend players start at rank 15 so you are going to be running into players that made it far higher than you until they grind ranks.
I made a mulligan list to give you the general idea of what to mulligan for when playing against any class. No descriptions yet though.
You can't base not putting a card in your deck on one offs. It's well worth the risks. As long as you have two recruits on the field then cast quartermaster. I can honestly say their have been situations where I really needed to play quartermaster with only one recruit on the field. I also forgot to mention that Mind Control Tech is great VS zoo as well. I also play with a second equality instead of Purifier. Purifier, only helps in certain situations. However, having two equalitys really helps. One for early and one for late game.
Having two quartermaster's is important to increase the chance of drawing into one of them by the mid game
Don't use this deck high in rank because everyone runs zoo/mech mage/hunter and this deck is trash against those decks.
Agreed.
Registered just to say that if you dont swap some knifes for either blood knight or whatever mech mages are gonna be hard, and as far as zoo locks are concerned this deck is very weak against them you need at the very least to add some zombie chow
Actually, this deck does quite well against zoo. You want to make sure that you mulligan for Shielded Minibot, Muster for Battle and Consecration. If you have coin bring out minibot. In most cases you can take out their first creatures. Otherwise, bring him out on the second turn. Then muster on the 3rd to finish off anything else. Consecration is great to remove anything else rounds 4 and 5. Otherwise, keep bringing out a recruit each round. Most people fear that you have a Quartermaster in your hand and will keep attacking them and not you. This buys you time. It's just learning how to play their decks strengths and weaknesses.
Thats great IF you can start with those cards. If not then GG. Thats what... 1 in 200 chance to start with all 3 of those cards?
I usually get those in a mulligan or by turn 4. Yes, the chance is high.
I currently have 1600 dust.
Should I craft Tirion or TBK.
I am currently running it with Bolvar , Sylvanas and Dr Boom.
Tirion I believe.
Guys, Warrior & Priest shit all over this deck, any tips to beat them?
it doesn't suck. Trades extremely favorably with most popular minions atm.
Ehh, I use cairne
farm arena runs :)
I've tried a lot of different paladin decks this season and none of them have been as stable as this one.
I have discarded the jugglers.. they are way to random in situations where they need to perform same goes for the acolyte I never get enough out of this one either. Dr. Boom is not to find either due to everyone running bgh and ALWAYS have it. BlacK knight. never shows up when I actually need this card and therefore its not on my list either.
Replacements are the following.
Dr boom > Sneeds old shredder for the time being.
Acolyte > Cult Master
Knife Jugglers and BlacK Knight. > 1 argent protector and 2 bloodknights Reason behind this is I face to many annoy o trons, paladin mirrors and some times it makes sense to remove the shield from minibots to buff a BloodKnight
I need to say its a very stable Deck! I replaced some cards so im now playing 2 equalitys, 2 Zombie Chows (did not switch that after Undertaker nerf so I need to think about it), 2 Harvest Golems instead of Juggler cause I was not getting enough value out of it, Mechanical Yeti instead of Shredder, Sylvanas instead of Sky Golem and as well a Troggzo!
So these were my changes I would like to get some feedback :)
Good Luck 4 yall in the new Season tho
Yes, that's what I run.
It's a decent replacement. Sky Golem is better at staying on an empty board. Sylvanas has potential for high value steals.
There are a good number of times I am throwing Sky Golem onto an empty board which requires a silence AND clear to actually kill. A druid say could swipe+hero power a Sylvanas and she's gone. You can't do that to Sky Golem.
