this deck is a mess. bad players with no skill end it. sad. i want something good with priest soon.
Any replacement for Vol'Jin and Harrison?
Sorry this was supposed to be a reply....
Yeah if yer playing Velen, definitely play both Naarus. Control warriors aren't easy. You don't wanna silence the armorsmith because every decent control warrior runs Sylvanas for the brawl combo. They like to drop her the turn before they brawl and it becomes a win/win situation for them. That's really your best silence target vs a warrior.
Armorsmiths can be annoying. Your best bet is to try and hold your cards until you have a sure way to deal with them. It's ok to cabal them, especially if you've already dealt with an acolyte or two.
An overly aggressive start can be good vs warrior because it keeps their armor low, and if you have board control armorsmiths are easier to deal with. I find that dumping pyros is good here because they eat war axe durability, and the pyros are mostly worthless (or worse) late game. Don't worry too much about a warrior having 10+ armor. Just try to figure out a way to make them waste their shield slams before you drop your powerful minions. You will catch them in the long run if you're smart about playing your deaths. MC may be the best card you can have in this matchup. Some games you'll find MC + silence are simply better than Velen + Naaru. In general though, Civila's deck is solid and probably superior in the current meta.
This deck is really nice in a control heavy meta. Aggro, but very slow against aggro with no early counters.
A big part vs hunter and zoo are holy smite or other cheep spells with wild pyro.
They allow you to cheaply clear lots of small minions.
Another big early game play is injured blade master with circle of healing for a 3 cost 4-7.
I almost always try to mulligan for pyro and a cheap spell this is one of the best things vs minion heavy decks.
I hope this helped.
The agro isn't what's giving me the most trouble with this deck. It's the handlocks and rogues.
I subbed out Baron Geddon for Mass Dispel since this deck lacks a silence. It saved me quite often.
I tried 2 thought steal, it is great card draw and helps you stretch the game out when you are running out of steam.
I took a look at this deck 20 days ago, i was a bit surprised as a priest player and i tried it but it didnt work, now that i've been building my own decks and testing stuff, i figured out civila made an excellent deck, and the people that were suggesting cards or changing them were wrong.
It's the strongest priest deck I've seen. You'll find yourself lacking certain cards from game to game, but there's nothing I would encourage changing except perhaps swapping the black knight for a swd.
Any joe should be able to play this deck to legend just as civila has it listed.
Edit: That being said...figure out a way to get Malygos on the board with Velen, and have some fun (protip - add mindblast).
I was mostly joking, but 20 dmg for 2 mana is serious business.
Great deck. I started to play with Priest (last no 60lvl hero). Actually I did 9 wins in row on ranked (after reset). My first games with Priest.
Why are there no Mind Blasts? I really like the setup but it seems like MB could be put in somewhere.
anything replaceable for Dr. Boom & Vol Jin ?
Dr. Boom is just "you must get this card". This is the best G&G's card.
Yeah, both of those are great cards....
Can I ask a question about this deck... no taunts??
Is the idea that you have to heal the hell out of lethal range, so combos and charger minions can't kill you? Otherwise how do you protect the lightwardens without, say, a belcher or two...
Oh, and could you please (!) add a matchups and mulligans section :) ?
i use 1 belcher instead of the velen. works fine probably better. velen doesn't seem to fit in this deck imo.
This might be the only deck Velen will ever fit in. I'm not sure what yer getting at.
Edit: You don't really need belchers because the idea is to create enough pressure that your opponent has to face your minions. Your minions are pretty substantial in this deck, so you don't need anything taunting for them. I've had several games with 7-11 dmg lightwardens that didn't get dealt with soon enough because there was already too much pressure on the board. This deck isn't isn't quite as slow as your usual control priest. You get overrun some games, but in general, the taunts aren't essential. I just dropped a priest from 30 to 0 n one turn with Velen and 2 other minions (cabal / voljin) on the board....
In a sense, the wardens themselves represent a taunt. From a 1 cost card, they present a threat that has to be dealt with. Often, your opponent will overspend valuable resources dealing with a 1/2 minion when you have already generated value from the 3 point heal.
Thanks for the clarification. I guess if you are getting "low" on health, you can just drop Velen + Lightwarden (self heal) + Hero power -> Healed for 10. Next turn, Holy Fire - heal for another 10.
But, you are still vulnerable to one turn kills like Raging Worgen, or druid if they have minions on board that you cant get rid of.
