A Pirate deck made by Xixo on Jan 6th. He had a 10 win streak from rank 5-4.
EDIT: Xixo is currently Rank 1, almost legend.
EDIT2: Xixo reached Rank 18 Legend with this deck! Proof of legend (Jan 7)
EDIT3: VOD for anyone interested on how to play this deck -
EDIT4: VOD links are down, sorry! I'm sure a google search will show some results.
This is a very aggressive and backspace-rogue like deck!
King Mukla is to lower enemy's Jeeves value.
EDIT Jan 7 - Took out an Argent Squire and Patient Assassin for another Blade Flurry and a Salty Dog.
EDIT Jan 8 - Salty Dog is not a serious addition to the deck and can be swapped out for whatever you guys see fit! (Thanks Infiltrator!)
EDIT Jan 11 - I think the general consensus is that Loatheb is much better than Salty Dog (RIP Reynad), so I have edited it in. Thanks everyone!
His stream can be found on http://www.twitch.tv/xixo
Hey! Man this post is old but I am just wondering if there is any other place to find videos. The Xixo VODS were deleted, so I was only able to see the 2 vids that were in the comments section. Thanks!
Hey I found a short youtube vid of him playing, I didn't know the links were dead, sorry!
this deck works really well if you know when to all in and when to play it safe and are good with rogue i went 10 wins and 2 losses. The one thing i change is a captains parrot instead of an argent squire
Well the deck does have Loatheb to buy a turn against most AoE threats, but beyond that it's just a matter of considering their options and making sure not to overextend.
I can't figure out how to actually get anything onto the board. Everything seems to out tempo me :( I want to be able to play this deck so bad.
I added 1 oil into the deck and i got a 11 attack weapon with the other weapon buffs and etc lol. Definitely a fun deck!
17-13 with this deck. Owned by all warriors and Handlock. Fun deck but i dont see how legendary was possible. That's unbelievable.
Warrior is, unfortunately, not a great matchup, due to taunts, armor-producing minions, etc.
Handlock, though, I haven't found to be too much of a problem, since we have so much burst. More recently Xixo was playing a build like the above but -1 Argent Squire, -1 Loatheb, +1 Sap, +1 Haunted Creeper. I assume that the Sap would help vs. Handlock.
This is a fun deck because it has pirates. It is not a good deck. It rolls over to a sludge belcher or any deck with removal basically. Maybe it's good for ranks 5-legend, I wouldn't know.
if someone can play a deck to legend, and you cannot, that makes you the baddie, not the deck
Well the meta also shifts, come on now.
okay you can come back and say this in like 3 months when the deck hasn't been updated and legend wasn't achieved within 5 days of the last update perhaps?
You know, oddly, I don't speak Spanish very well, but I've been learning for awhile. I find it much easier to follow a language I'm learning when they're talking about something I find interesting instead of, you know, what Raul had for Breakfast and if Julio likes the red jacket or not. I may seek out more videos on Hearthstone en espanol.
Been wanting to try a fun Rogue deck again (enjoyed the days when Backspace/Coldlight worked) and Pirates seems like a fun way to do that. I don't have Captain Greenskin (nor can I bring myself to craft him even though I have plenty of dust). Perhaps add a 2nd Goblin Auto-Barber or Tinker's Sharpsword Oil if all the Cap'n is in there for is weapon buffs?
Thanks for posting this - having quite a bit of fun pirating the ladders :D
The tempo swing can be tough sometimes with this deck though, my first game I was so disheartened because I mulliganed into a ship's cannon that got frozen trapped and then I kept drawing 3+ minions and trying to come from behind vs a aggro hunter board but definitely a fun deck -- glad I stuck through with it.
I dislike Salty Dog (if only it had a bit more health... or less attack and cheaper) in the deck and I think Loatheb is a much better addition. It protects your board and is overall a solid play when an additional 2-3 damage will kill you but one more turn means you win. A Haunted Creeper is also a great addition for early pressure and Cold Blood targets. I could see going with Xixo's old build and adding a one of Patient Assassin as well.
Good feedback! I have opted Salty Dog out for Loatheb. I also use a single Haunted Creeper myself and I personally really like it!
GvG made pirates viable lulz ._.
whats wrong with that, I want pirates to be viable
Cool deck. I love tribal themes. I dropped Salty Dog in exchange for Sap. I also dropped Argent Squire in exchange for a Bloodsail Corsair. I defin like the Sap since it handles giant monsters you can't normally deal with and also has nice synergy with Jeeves. The corsair is questionable over the squire, but it's kinda cool because you can trigger a cannon with it, trigger One-eyed cheat stealth and it can get buffed by the captain. It's even helpful against most weapon decks. It's important to have cheap drops in this deck and not glut your hand with expensive cards otherwise they are hard to dump and get Jeeves online when you finally draw him.
Good call on the Sap + Jeeves synergy. I was thinking of switching out Argent Squire myself for a Bloodsail Corsair, I'll have to try that. Glad it's working out for you! :)
