Focused around early game advantage and mid game pressure with 1-1 removal tools such as Soulfire.
There are a number of early game combos that can be seriously hard to fell with only 2-3 mana such as Tidecaller + Hungry Crab. I chose Warlock as the complementary class for Murloc due to the fact you have access to the hero ability Life Tap which is crucial in fulfilling the role of hand replenishment as you drop your hand a lot and sometimes it won't be enough.
I've also gone ahead and dropped two [card]Power Overwhelming[/card] in there for obvious OTK reasons. Old Murk-Eye obviously also helps with otking. A couple more techs I've added in are Soulfire, generally you're dropping your hand fast so the negative -1 cost for Soulfire doesn't phase you too badly. Bloodmage Thalnos has won a spot here because quite frankly he's the best card in the game right now and should be in pretty much every deck going. He complements low cost removal, as well as replacing himself.
Overall the deck works like it should, you either win early or the game goes on long enough to see yourself smashed. Due to the fact your largest monster is Old Murk-Eye you need to establish early control and dominance or else you will lose.
The mirror match seems to work very much in your favor with this list due to the fact I see few people using Hungry Crab, don't forget you can eat THEIR Murlocs as well, gaining yourself a +1 and a big monster, even bigger when going against Murlocs as they are naturally small and wimpy.
UPDATE (16/1/14)
-Removed Blood Imp in place of Young Priestess as Blood Imp is now unusable.
-Added Leper Gnome in place of Shadow Bolt. Leper is 1 drop that speeds up the grind game essentially taking 4 life with 1 attack unless silenced. More valuable than the 1-1 of Shadow Bolt.
-Removed Hungry Crab in place of Voidwalker. Does the same thing as Hungry Crab, the difference being Voidwalker is a 1 drop and thus making the deck more consistent, Hungry Crab was in there to halt Murloc mirror matches, which is what Voidwalker essentially does, with his big 3 life early game.
-Removed Bloodmage Thalnos in place of Leeroy Jenkins. Leeroy's finishing capabilities are much needed in rush decks now, and since I have removed Shadow Bolt there is little point in now having Bloodmage Thalnos in the lineup.
Unfortunately this deck will not be updated frequently due to me taking a hiatus from the game. I will however do my best to update on each major update if I'm playing.
So please do not feel I am ignoring any of you, It's just that at the moment I have no advice to give as I do not play.
Hope you enjoy, don't forget to upvote if you liked it. If you didn't send me some feedback, I've worked long and hard on this deck and genuinely believe It's one of the more solid and together builds I've seen with this variant so far.
I replaced Leroy Jenkins with for aKnife Juggler and got great results.
I replaced Leeroy with a Doomguard and it won me a couple games so far. I'll try the Knife Juggler out also, though. I knew these would fit very well into a deck like this but I'm just not sure what to replace.
I've been running a very similar deck a lot recently. It has its ups and downs. Over all up though. In higher ranks it gets beat a lot by smart players and AOE. If you want to see me run it and how I play it you can totally check out my twitch stream sometime.

This deck is incredibly fun to play, thanks to the overwhelming amount of low-cost cards. Like the description says, you need to take a very big lead, because this deck crumbles apart in late-game. That said, never a dull moment!
You got that right! You have no idea how many games I've ended up losing after getting my opponent to 3 or less before turn 6.
I'm 18-0 with the deck in casual. Can't speak for ranked but I am a rank 5 currently and have seen the Murloc deck played against me many times.
It's extremely strong but people make many many mistakes both playing WITH and AGAINST this deck. Let me outline a few:
WHEN PLAYING WITH:
- send back all your spells
- send back anything that costs more than 3 and only keep one 3
- always cast the most creatures possible
- it's almost never correct to trade for their creatures
- if you have to use power overwhelming to clear taunts, don't use your murlocs
- don't ever life tap until you have nothing to play, then life tap every turn. I see many murloc players tapping turn 2-3. NO YOU FAIL
- cast leeroy even if it's not a kill. protect him with voidwalker. He often will still deal his 6 and then trade for a big guy. His 6 power means he kills almost every taunt creature in the game and they often will spend their entire turn playing a taunt after being leeroyed, which means that leeroy just dealt his 6 AND traded with their defense, as opposed to just running into a taunt later for no gain. If you have power overwhelming + anything, they get Leeroyed twice instead.
- Always use mortal coil to finish off minions. Let's say they have a 3/5 taunt and you have two 4/4s. Send one at it, then mortal coil. Don't try to "save it for later". That's a giant tempo loss for you: You wasted one mana, missed out on 4 damage, damaged a 4/4 and didn't draw a card.
- Use soulfire early, don't wait until you have no other card in hand. Discarding ANY card is worth being able to kill their turn 2-4 play for free. This allows you to often push an extra 3-10 damage for 0 MANA.
- Don't play around sweepers except by casting health-buffing murlocks. Murloc is too fast for flamestrike to matter in time and the other sweepers deal only 2, which is not enough to kill murlocs buffed with the +2 HP one. Only hellfire sweeps your team fast enough and it damages the other guy and wastes their entire turn, giving YOU the opportunity to put pressure right back on the board and keep punching.
- Let them have their value trades. Yes they will often 2 for 1 you by eating 2 creatures with one of theirs. Doesn't matter as you'll have dealt 4-5 extra damage instead. That's a free fireball for you that cost you no mana. Your hero ability lets you refuel and you will not take any damage - anyway so you should have 25+ lives to lifetap with.
- ignore hero abilities. Sure they can kill your leper gnome "for free". if they spend most of their early turns doing nothing but killing your guys with hero abilities, they will have taken 10+ damage, stopped almost nothing and will not have developed their board at all. Yes it sucks that rogue can kill two guys with 2 mana, but they'll have to take the damage to the face anyway and eventually you will kill them as they run out of ways to kill 1-2 new creatures per turn.
WHEN PLAYING AGAINST:
- Kill the murloc lords, not the "bigger" buffed murlocs. this seems obvious but I can't count the times people kill the 5/3 instead of the 3/3 that gives +4 to my team.
- Kill murlocs before any other creature. When they have the chance, people often go for flame imp or voidwalker instead of murlocs. wrong wrong.
- always trade your guys into their murlocs and use spells to kill them
- don't get greedy with taunts and start attacking their face thinking they'll trade into you anyway. soulfire, mortal coil and power overwhelming might just blow your taunt in a horribly bad way and you will then proceed to take an extra 4+ damage.
Having played against murloc at higher ranks, I can tell you they are definitely beatable ( I played druid ) but sometimes there is nothing you can do at all. You just need to be smart.
Well hope this helps some of the people trying out this deck.
Playing this exact list right now, its completely horrible. Went from rank 7 to 5, then back to 7 again, just too unstable to be played competitively.
Hi,
I use your deck list and I honestly don't understand what I'm doing wrong but I can't get past rank 20... I'm a MTG player so I believe i know what I'm doing and I'm used to rush decks but I can't win more than 2 games in a row... The deck is fun but it seems like my opponent always have a few cards that deal damage to all minions or a lot of characters with ''taunt''. Since I used almost all my dust to craft this deck I was expecting something stronger, do you have a solution to avoid having all my minions killed at once ? I read in the other people comments that this deck is viable at rank 10 and even better, but I frankly don't understand how to get there when I can't get past rank 20.
Thanks for the help and for sharing your deck list !
why priestess over blood imp? they cant target blood imp so you constantly get the buff. where as priestess they can take out fast. i actually have both blood imp and priestess on my deck for the buffs along with 1 brewmaster. i think the brewmaster has good synergy with a lot of the cards here. i also dont have 2 warleaders or leeroy .
I've been having issues with Mages and their removal/damage all minion cards. Other than that, this deck is crushing, but It seems like every time I begin to amass a Murloc army I get shut down by a damage all spell or what have you. Anybody have any tips?
+1
How far have you gone in ranked play with this deck out of curiosity?
I would like to know this as well. =]
Wow, what a great deck. Unless you get a horrible run of bad cards, it's unstoppable. Not uncommon to go 10 wins in a row. Thanx. I will check out your other deck Shaman Totem Control next. It looks fun too!
Love this deck! Btw, i'm considering changing 2x Young Priestess to 2x Abusive Sergeant . What do you think?
love this deck, it's really helping until i reach those better druid decks like i did before the reset (just started from the reset). As for that guy who gets upset at druids i recommend the legendary pressure rogue which i normally main which is a good counter to mage druid paldins, but has trouble too rush downs.
I logged in just to ask this question. I noticed you aren't running Knife Juggler, and have opted into running mortal coils instead. Any specific reason?
Great deck man !! I love it a lot, but since I miss some of the high ends cards I made some changes.
Since I only have 1 x Young Priestess, I use that + 2 x Blood Imp and I think blood imp are great in early turns.
Argent Commander instead Leeroy Jenkins
only 1 x Murloc Warleader and 1 x Coldlight Seer but I added 1 x Coldlight Oracle instead, gonna switch out asap.
So far I've been smashing kids from rank10-11 to rank7, and still going stronk. I cant wait to get another Coldlight Seer or Murloc Warleader in this deck. and once agian thanks for this deck man amazing!
I have this exact deck. I am having a lot of trouble getting past rank 14... Can you give some advice on how to play this deck? I am stuck and just getting taken to like turn 9 and 10. Needs to end quicker !!!!
Yeah i am now trying this deck without Hellfire and added in Shadowflame ... Still not great, but better (the combo with PowOver is insane and helps with all of them taunts.
How much should i be life tapping ?
Sorry meant Soulfire, not Hellfire!
