Hello everyone I'm GuN, Legend player from Delirium Tremens and today I'm introducing my new Zoo. I used this deck to get legend this season 9.
The main strategy of this deck turns around playing minions on curve which synergize with Hobgoblin and Deathrattle to control the board efficiently and pressure the opponent's life.
Proof:
Why play zoo?
It's a solid deck in this meta and doesn't have a real counter. It's a fast, cheap and effective deck. Do you need more reasons to play this decklist?
To play this deck It's very important to make good board trades and know when to attack the opponent's face and when to clear the board.
General mulligan tips: Board position is everything with this deck so you really want to mulligan for one drops. Abusive Sergeant works very well with Argent Squire. I don't like to keep Nerubian Egg if I don't have an Undertaker.
Using Life Tap: Tap before play. If you have enough mana to play a card and two more to spend in hero power use always hero power FIRST.
Strong matchups: Xixo's Zoo, Fast Druid, Warrior, Aggro Mage, Midrange Paladin.
Weaker matchups: Handlock, Hunter, Priest, Shaman (still about 50%).
The cards:
Abusive Sergeant: It helps us to make good board trades.
Argent Squire: Nice one drop that synergizes with Hobgoblin.
Flame Imp: Really good mana ratio stats.
Leper Gnome: Good one drop that synergizes with Undertaker.
Undertaker: OP one drop card and synergizes with Hobgoblin.
Voidwalker: Nice one drop that protects other cards and synergizes with Hobgoblin.
Annoy-o-Tron: Nice two drop that protects other cards and synergizes with Hobgoblin.
Dire Wolf Alpha: It helps us to make good board trades.
Echoing Ooze: It synergizes with Hobgoblin and Knife Juggler.
Haunted Creeper: It synergizes with Hobgoblin, Undertaker and Knife Juggler.
Knife Juggler: Really good card in aggro decks.
Nerubian Egg: It synergizes with Undertaker and prevents board wipes.
Hobgoblin: The bread and Butter of the deck.
Dark Iron Dwarf: It helps us to make good board trades.
Defender of Argus: It helps us to make good board trades and synergizes with Echoing Ooze.
Doomguard: Really good mana ratio stats. It's our finisher.
Card Considerations:
Loatheb: It's really powerful to prevent board wipes and put pressure.
Ironbeak Owl: Owl is the best silence in the game.

Those two cards are extremely strong in this deck. Changing them out can be a challenge, but any other cheap 1 attack minions could perhaps be swapped in their stead.
I've had Hobgoblin combined with Wisp used against me before. Nothing like a couple of 0 mana 3/3s.
Interesting combo - with wisps in an opening hand I'd keep a hob
Deck seems solid as hell.
One question though--is Power Overwhelming too much of a sacrifice, in terms of not having two creatures, to include in the deck. It turns any 1/1 on the field into a Doomguard. Flame Imp could be taken out, as it's easy to kill, and hurts you to bring out.
Is it viable with only 1 hobgoblin? If it is, what would be the replacement? Im really low on dust and i was saving up for legendary crafts, i'd rather not craft a second hob :p
As Gun says, it's not optimal with only one, but I've won many games where I didn't see either of the Hobbers. Great deck.
Strictly speaking, it's a normal undertaker zoo deck minus some deathrattles and using cheap 1 attack minions instead. In this sense, it's not as fast as the undertaker zoo, but it can certainly overwhelm certain opponents. I'd say on 75% of matchups the hobgoblin is required to secure the win.
I realize that it's all RNG, but I have not found Hobgoblin to necessary to win with this deck. While Hobgoblin can certainly make a lot out of 1-attack minions, it doesn't do jack when it doesn't come up and I've had more games without it (or without any minions with which to use the combo) than I have with it. I had the same experience with Undertaker decks, although I didn't seem to be able to win with them when Undertaker didn't come up or work as much as I can with this deck without Hobgoblin.
Perhaps you're not doing the mulligan right - I always toss anything that's not a one or two drop, and get rid of any eggs unless I have the undertaker.
I find that the hobgoblin is a bit slow against faster decks, and control decks have an easy time removing it. How do you mulligan for each?
Very interesting. I've had to wait until turn 4 to start the combo but that's way too slow.
I find that throwing away anything that isn't 1 mana, with the exception of maybe saving an Annoy-o-Tron if I have the coin, is essential to winning with this deck. Ideal combo to begin with seems to be Void Walkers and Flame Imps.
Sounds like a good deck, will try it out in the future. Will probably replace echoing ooze with loot hoarder though.
If you can't draw hobgoblin, then echoing ooze will be very average as a standalone.
The echoing ooze is pretty sticky for a two mana minion. There's no way the loot hoarder is a better choice.
Do you think homogoblin is better than enhancomechano?
This deck looks amazing! I have been experimenting with a similar style, but for Warrior which is mech + Goblin + weapons. Somehow your death rattle + Goblin seems a lot stronger. Maybe it's also race dependent as Warlock has stronger aggro class cards. Here is my deck: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/148497-g-v-g-aggro-goblin-mcreaver I'm going to try out your style to see if it helps with a warrior deck. Love your addition of Echoing Ooze. You might want to switch out the Defenders of Argus with the Enhanc-o Mechano as they are slightly stronger IMHO random windfury, divine shield, taunt on all cards on the board, although less predictable. Thanks
Cool. Agree on the Argus + Egg synergy. Yup. Warlock > Warrior for this style of deck. Card draw is a serious isssue, but not for Warlock.
Just wanted to bring your attention to this other Goblin deck which seems the only other seriously viable variant i've come across: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/147214-top-50-hobgoblin-token-druid
Would you run soulfire/darkbomb in this deck? The versatility of the damage and the repeatability of minion damage makes me think I might put in one or two darkbombs.
