The title of the deck is in reference to my previous deck post for this Tavern Brawl with the same core concept:
Steamcleaner removes every card except for your starting seven, so if you can find it in your mulligan and play it on five, you now effectively have access to your starting seven, and ONLY your starting seven cards.
So, how can we win with only six cards (seven minus Steamcleaner)?
Well, the Norgannon method from last time is certainly inefficient, so let's try something a little more straightforward: some good old-fashioned Tamsin nonsense, along with the fact that our opponent now ALSO has almost no deck due to Steamcleaner.
The goal of this deck (post Steamcleaner) is to play Tamsin, play reverberations on her, and just cast a bunch of Curse of Agony's. The Tidepool Pupil is there to get an additional Curse plus however many you can generate off your Tamsin's.
Don't be afraid to use Emperor Thaurissan: My first game I reduced the cost of both my Curses to 0 and still won, thanks to the additional Curse in the pupil always costing 1.
So yeah, a bit more straightforward this time around. Steamclean both decks, and then shuffle a few dozen fatigue cards into your opponent's deck. Still pretty fun though.
And watching Steamcleaner destroy 30+ cards is always funny.
More nonsense to come
Easy pack. Thank you!
Just a note that the Emperor you used is the Caverns version, not the Blackrock Mountain one that most folks would have in Wild. For a second I thought I had to craft him, even though I KNEW I've had that card forever.
Personally really dislike the spaghetti code they used to not address those near-identical card situations.
Oh thanks for the tip! I didn't even realize myself, until you pointed it out. I don't even have the caverns version, I have the Blackrock versions, I must've just clicked the other one when I was building the deck on here.
I didn't have Tamsin on my two free to play server accounts, so replaced that, the Emperor and Reverberations with 2 Augmented Elekks and 1 Educated Elekk on one account. Worked awesome! On the other I only had one each of the Elekks, so, used Photographer Fizzle, and got away with that, too.
i'd suggest Fanottem, Lord of the Opera to keep alive , as the game begin in turn 6, after Steamcleaner does its magic and by then we get very short in lives.
The thing is that Fanottem is a dead card until you play steam cleaner, and you're often winning one or two turns after playing steamcleaner anyway, so there's not a huge window for it to be useful IMO. And even if its in your hand the turn you drop steamcleaner, you'll almost certainly still have two or so cards left in your deck, so you can't play it on the same turn as a way to try to stabilize before you combo.
Thanks for the suggestion though, I appreciate it!
Fun deck, catches some people off guard.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
