How win elemental mages ? give deck do destroy this bithes
cool deck!
For those of us with a bit more legendaries in our collection, which ones might be a good fit in here? To maximize its power?
Love the deck! I'm coming back to HS after around 5 years off, and this deck is the perfect level of fun+competitive+budget for me.
Question about playing, I noticed in the video that you ditched the glacial shard during the mulligan. I'd assume that's because you want to keep the freeze effect for later, but if you happen to end up with it, should you play it turn 1? Should I only mulligan for the turn 2 plays, or are there other mulligans to look out for?
Thanks again for the deck, you've got my upvote!
Unless your opponent has no hands, this deck is terrible.
TL;DR - Fun, low-dust-cost combo deck, but won't get you through higher ranks.
It has potential, but loses to pretty much any decent deck. It has too much draw, too little control.
Note: I personally swapped 2x Slippery Slope for 2x Remorseless Winter at some point, but it made no difference.
The OTK is impractical, since you need to basically draw your entire deck. Early game is exceptionally good, sure, but at turn 8, you usually end up with 3 dead cards (used for the combo), 2-3 weak minions and 3 card draw cards, while your opponent has out-tempo'd you and has either a full board of minions or 3-4 strong ones. At that point, you cannot stall more, and the partial combo doesn't cut it. It doesn't even clear the board most of the time. Even if it does, you won't have enough damage for the full OTK (30 health) later if you drew the rest of your deck.
Your only option really, is tempo turns 1-6, into partial combo with i.e. 1 Death Growl (and that's if you're lucky), at which point you either win or are 1 turn away from winning, HOWEVER if your opponent heals/clears your board, you can basically concede.
I feel like I have a pretty good understanding of the game and the deck, reached legend multiple times, but went 1-12, which is 7,6% wr (although on a small sample size). I would've played more, but every game felt the same and was pretty unenjoyable. Also, in the video, deck tracker stats for the deck (w/l) are disabled, which is why I feel like I should've known.
What level are you considering to be a high level? I'm not gonna claim that this deck will hit legend or anything, but at diamond it seems perfectly reasonable. It's an interesting deck to me because the main combo to kill is simultaneously your main board defense. A lot of times you need to decide whether you're going to use your combo pieces to clear the board, or keep them for a bigger combo. Using a partial combo + slippery slope can often save you and keep you in the game.
I might agree with your assumption once I get to the highest levels (I'm returning from around 5 years, so don't exactly know what the legend meta looks like anymore). But for a budget friendly fun deck, and for around 80-90% of players, this deck is by no means terrible.
Perfect for jumping back into the game after not playing. Rushing through those low ranks!*
Good work dude!
Awesome deck! Doing good with it.
