Who said Warrior was dead? It's okay, most of us thought the same. But it turns out all Warrior needed was a little refinement, and a meta that cannot deal with massive armor, or massive burst combos.
IF YOU ENJOY THESE DECKS, POSTS, AND VIDEOS, PLEASE CONSIDER GIVING THIS DECK A THUMBS UP TO HELP ME OUT!!! THANK YOU!
(Want to see the deck in action? Check out the video below for some insane highroll turns/highlights, as well as a Deck Breakdown to help you learn how to break the meta!)
Gameplan:
Control Warrior is back. The deck can balance survival turns with a burst combo to end games. Outvaluing with armor is possible against Miracle Rogue and Quest Fel Demon Hunter. You can stall aggro decks and eventually kill them with a burst combo involving To the Fronts!, Brann Bronzebeard, Astalor, the Flamebringer or Alexstrasza the Life-Binder.
From the Depths is STILL GOOD, even at 4 mana. The meta isn't the slowest, but it's slow enough for this card to see meaningful play. Most games, you will need at least one combo piece discounted to generate the insane burst turns. If you discount multiple cards, it's possible to set up Brann + Astalor, + Alex. The potential of this deck is extremely surprising. You'll be shocked at how quickly you can draw your deck with this list.
Mulligan:
ALWAYS KEEP: From the Depths, Outrider's Axe, Weapons Expert
SOMETIMES KEEP: Sir Finley, Sea Guide (with Depths or slow match ups), Shield Shatter (against aggro), Igneous Lavagorger, Shield Block, Frozen Buckler (with shatter against aggro)
Sadly enough, in some matchups you cannot even afford to spend 4 mana on From the Depths
I get what this deck is trying to do but its just too slow in this meta.
Outvaluing Quest Fel Demon Hunter, Miracle Rogue and Hunter is almost impossible to pull off. You'll really need to be fortunate to draw into the right cards and play them on time.
You'll often find yourself dealing with the board rather than being in able to play the cards you want. In a few games I tried to ignore the board a bit and go for the draw but that means you'll be dead at turn 6 or 7.
Another thing i want to mention is that you'r often not able to deal a bit of damage to the face before you pull off the combo. You'll often destroy minions with your weapon which leads to your opponent staying on 25-30 health. With hero cards and Astelor, the protector being in most of the decks nowadays, it means you'll have to deal damage to 25-30 health + 5-10 armor. Its almost impossible to pull of with the combo.
This deck might be insane in a meta that is a bit slower, but for now its just to slow and not steady enough. Probs for the guy that manged to get legend with this tho
I actually had to make an account just to point out how dumb and wrong both of the only other comments were....
To clarify the 2nd person is dumb for saying astalor is a bad craft like... WOW
The first person is dumb for playing the deck like a combo deck....
I rest my case
didnt won any game except 1 vs DH. i actually had the cards except Astalor, and i crafted it becose is useful for others decks, but darn is so bad
Made an account just to comment because I was foolish enough to waste my dust on this. Played 10 games now and I’m 1-9.
You spend most of the time just waiting and hoping to draw the right cards, and when you finally have them the finisher is too weak to actually kill the opponent.
16 damage is usually what you manage to pull off on the combo. That’s not enough in todays meta.
Brann Astalor is literally 32 damage....
64 if you live the dream.
