Short description: Control the board and go FACE. LETS FIGHT THOSE BLOOD DK!!! FROST TEAM LETS GOOOO ^^. MY DAY 1 DECK.
How broken are Frost Rune Cards for Death Knight? - Hearthstone Mathematics help.

Burn deck. Squize as much dmg as you can and make the opponent feel the frostbite.
Card choices:
- Bone Breaker - Best 1 drop to play on turn 1. 8 dmg for 1 mana is just great. Try to always mull for it.
- Thassarian - great tempo play on turn 4. Probably best turn 4 play.
Burn/Frost package:
- Frost Strike - helps with tempo and create's value. You almost always find (and pick) direct/face dmg with it.
- Glacial Advance - 4 dmg is OK. Good for tempo with our cheap spells.
- Howling Blast - Board control OR Burn. Freeze also helps a lot.
- Remorseless Winter - Board control with Burn and draw. Sweet.
- Frostwyrm's Fury - Finisher. Our best card in the deck.
TRAP cards:
- Horn of Winter - Does not ramp. And the tempo is not worth the card. We need as much burn as possible. You have cards that tutor frost spells and you never want HORN... However sometimes usesful so I take it as per discover, if no better option (no burn)
- Invincible - slow and we do not have a undead package. Not worth it to keep a 8 mana card in hand... And sometimes without target on turn 8.. BAD... Our deck needs all the tempo it can get.
- Irondeep Trogg - NOT GOOD IN THE META. ONLY good vs coin. 2 health? Not worth it with a lot of DK having great turn 1 non spell removals for it.
- Runeforging - Overseer Frigidara
- Ymirjar Frostbreaker - only good in a 30 card deck. As we are playing 40 cards, its difficult to have 2 frost spells in hand (start of the game).
Draw:
- Lady Deathwhisper - Copy your sweet Frost spells? Deal!!!
- Harbinger of Winter - Good card to play on turn 2.
- Chillfallen Baron - staple in each DK deck.
- Nerubian Vizier - great disc card. With hero power/undead dying it is a sweet tempo play. You can get any rune card with it, therefore it helps in any situation.
- School Teacher - super flexible card with tempo potential. Great turn 4/5 play. Can get any 3 less rune spell card.
- Venomous Scorpid - DK has a lot of OP SPELLS.
- Overseer Frigidara - Great stats: 5/6, draw 2, deal 2 to all enemies? Wow!
- Bloodmage Thalnos - stample in any burn deck. Helps to make our small AOE really good.
Cards to consider depending on meta: Switch depending on your needs.
- Sylvanas, the Accused - just a good card. 5/5, destroy a minion? Nice. Do not expect to trigger the steal effect, but sometimes it will happen. Clean (and only in FROST) answer to tempo Sire Denathrius - as we dont have kill spells (but we can freeze him ^^)
- Deathchiller - Helps with tempo and there are not a lot of good on curve 2 mana minions for this deck.
- Vicious Slitherspear - Nice 1 mana play. 3 health is key as it is easy to deal 2 dmg byt the opp.
- Frostmourne - Slow but still... 15dmg
- Body Bagger - fine card
- Crooked Cook - Fine to include. You will draw a card in most cases.
- Incorporeal Corporal - Good 2 mana play and really strong + 5 face dmg OR board control.
BIG UPDATE (Reason: NERFS - Deck adjusted for new meta - tested by me - currently over 60% WR)
Removed:
- Sire Denathrius - NERF to infuse 2
- Queen Azshara - No space and slow.
- Defrost - not worth it, we need the corpses for other stuff.
- Theotar, the Mad Duke - no need as we want to burn our op.
- Prince Renathal - 35 health = BAD and not worth it for tempo decks.
- Might of Menethil - No space.
- Astalor Bloodsworn - SLOW and with Renathal nerf, the meta will be faster
- Brann Bronzebeard - No space and slow.
- Marrow Manipulator - SLOW
- Rime Sculptor - SLOW
ADDED:
- Rimefang Sword - really good to reduce the cost of our burn spells - you almost always keep it in the opening hand
- Guild Trader - our main finisher with burn spells
- Icy Touch - cheap burn spell that also freezes face/minion if needed
Will try it. I've played around 20 games with the Renathal version of the deck, but I'm suffering of bad draws - it took me 20 cards to get the Viper I needed to counter Cariel. I wanna include one Rustrot Viper, probably in exchange of the 2 drop. So far is the best tech card I've found.
This deck is WAY too top heavy to survive consistently in the MotLK meta... decks now are as fast as they've ever been, and this one is packing an obscene amount of high cost cards that make one bad draw/mull into a sure loss to practically anything else built to win.
Lose Renathal, Sylvanus,
Azshara(Deathwhisper, see below), Theotar (I was using Frostmourne in his place anyway), the Might of Menethils, the Schoolteachers, Brann, and Thalnos. It's still a bit top heavy, but with nearly 2/3ds of the deck now 3 and under... there's at least a much stronger chance of a survivable draw.
*EDIT* - Lady Deathwhisper is mostly a waste as well... you've got a number of cheap frost spells in the deck, but you're using these at a fair clip to keep board control AND... she's got to die to get the copies.
Deck was not updated after nerfs untill now - wanted to do some testing. Thank you for the feedback. The deck will evolve accordingly to the changing meta.
Just FYI - you have Rimefang Sword (optional) in the card stack rather than Remorseless Winter (main write-up).
Thank you :)!!!
love the deck, still lack theotar and azshara :(
Tried your list with some minor tweaks and having a ton of fun and success so thank you!
sup everyone, tried out your deck, if anyone interested in gameplay video u can check below :)
got a bit owned but not sure if I could have won these games, maybe should have try to be more aggresive
I personally have a positive (over 50%) winrate with this deck. It requires some learning curve. You need to understand the matchup goals. How to fight vs ea deck is a little complicated. TIP: In most cases try to not TRADE when there is no need to do so. Focus on small cheap FACE DMG. Opponent will then focus on (he thinks) value trades - we do not have healing so its beneficial for us if they trade). Why they just think they had a great value trade? Because we have a lot of small/cheap AOE/DMG via a lot of spells/minnions. So a lot of creatures after value trade have 1/2 hp left and we just clean them up with our small AOE.
My best matchup currently: ANY MAGE/WARRIOR/SHAMAN/OTHER DK/Priest/Slow Warlock (unless they are lucky with Reno) (3 blood DK is such an easy matchup - they cant keep up with out tempo and the SIRE will not be big enough to kill us (we are too fast for them with out face dmg via minions or spells). Other classes: TO be seen. EVEN Matchup: Aggro Druid/Any Rogue. Worst Matchup: COMBO DRUID. - Thats my personal experience with the deck so far. There are sites with probably better data.
Conclusion: Its a versatile deck that can win with any Deck, which is sweet to be honest.
You might be on to something with limiting the frost spells and not running Deathchiller, interesting deck overall.
2 things to consider: I get that there are not enough standalone decent 1-drops, but I would rather run Irondeep Trogg or Ymirjar Frostbreaker than Bone Breaker (seems mediocre, gives no corpses). Also you're running 5 weapons with no Runeforging, I would definitely put in at least one or cut some weapons.
Regarding 1 drops, its hard to predict what will work best. I like Bone Breaker as it controls the board early. I dont like Ymirjar Frostbreaker and Irondeep Trogg seems meta depended. But maybe it is not a bad idea to add 1... Anyway, Runeforging is good I agree, however I excluded it due to Overseer Frigidara.
