🥶 Winter is here... and it's cold! 🥶

Welcome to my modern freeze shaman deck guide. I've been using this deck to climb in wild, and I'm currently around the low diamond area, but I haven't been seriously grinding or anything. Before we continue, you should note that this isn't a super meta, competitive deck by any means. It's meant to be off meta and fun.

You should play this deck if...

  • You like the keyword Freeze
  • You enjoy slower control decks
  • You have a spare copy of Moorabi lying around.
  • You have a tolerance for a little bit of RNG

You should not play this deck if...

  • You're looking to climb competitively
  • You want a deck that's 100% consistent
  • You dislike slower decks

🧊 Gameplan 🧊

The way this deck wins is by reducing our opponent's health to zero.

Joking aside, this deck has a few win conditions. First, there's the obvious one - Sire Denathrius. With invoking Galakrond, the Tempest and our normal hero power, we create a lot of expendable tokens that we use to trade, buffing up Daddy D and our other infuse card, Insatiable Devourer, which can chew through tough boards.

Before then, we can also use a fully powered up battlecry from Galakrond, the Tempest for some big 8/8s to push damage to face.

We also run Shudderwock because of our previously talked about battlecry minions, and because it is one of the stupidly good cards Blizzard has ever given us. Even if we only get Denathrius down with 10 or 20 damage, being able to repeat it with Shudderwock and eventually repeat that with our two Brilliant Macaw

AND if that's STILL not enough, we have the best card ever to be released for Shaman ever - Moorabi. On a serious note, Moorabi is quite slow, but can steal some high value minions from your opponents, such as a questline reward. Even if your opponent has no good targets, you can freeze one of your Insatiable Devourer and get it back for next turn. This is why we run a lot of 1-mana freeze spells, like Windchill and Invocation of Frost to steal some things.

🧊 Notable Combos 🧊

This deck has a lot of cards that can interact well with one another, and below is just a short list of my favorite ones - obviously there's more to be used, which you'll find when using the deck.

Brilliant Macaw + Any of our powerful battlecry effects

Bearon Gla'shear on one turn, then either Cheaty Snowbold or Moorabi the next turn to surprise your opponent with a burst of damage or a bunch of stolen minions. Note! Cheaty Snobold works when you freeze a frozen character! With this in mind, we can have our Frozen Stagguards deal 6 damage when they attack instead of 3!

MoorabiSnowball Fight! to freeze a bunch of minions and fill our hand

Ice Fishing is only there to tutor the Toxfin and Firemancer Flurgl board wipe combo. It's saved my ass quite a few times, so I kept it.

Zentimo is here for a variety of uses, mostly for freezing enemies 3x with our 1 mana spells. Very rarely have I found use in the 3x Snowball Fight combo, but it definitely exists.

🧊 Mulligan Guide 🧊

Most of the time, you're going to want to keep one or two freeze spells - either Windchill or Invocation of Frost, during your mulligan. These cards are invaluable to slowing the early game down and helping build pressure.

You also want to keep a Sleetbreaker or even Zentimo as well, as they can also help you get ahead.

If you think you're going to be against a slower deck, I would consider keeping Sire Denathrius in your hand to start infusing early and using it later on to secure a massive amount of damage and lifegain.

Other than that, this deck is still a WIP - right now, Lady Vashj is a bit of a placeholder, but it's nice to draw your freeze spells and have them cost 0 for later use.

That's all! Hopefully this deck works well for you.
