xBlyzes has created a monstrosity of a deck that centers around activating Vanndar Stormpike while he's at 2 mana. Which is achievable with Shadowstep or Shadowcrafter Scabbs hero power.
And if you look at all the minions, discounting them by 3 is insane to think about, let alone see in action. (Game clips in video below)
Mulligan:
ALWAYS KEEP: Vanndar Stormpike, Shadowstep, Cutlass Courier
SOMETIMES KEEP: Preparation, Shadowcrafter Scabbs (against slow match ups), Azsharan Vessel (w/ Prep), Blackwater Cutlass
Gameplan:
First off, this deck is insanely fun, but very difficult to pilot. If you wish to play this deck, it may require some test games while you get used to it.
There are two gameplans to shoot for. Tempo win con or Scam win con.
In games where you do not get your Vanndar Stormpike highroll, you are pretty much playing a worse tempo rogue. However, with the inclusion of Scabbs Cutterbutter, Edwin, Defias Kingpin, and School Teachers, you have a way to fight for the board while removing your opponent's board. While doing this, you can try to draw as much as you can to hit the Vandarr highroll with Shadowstep or Scabbs hero power.
Once you hit your 2 mana Vanndarr, there are two scams to shoot for. Mr. Smite OTK w/ Edwin + Azsharan Vessels or insane milling/stealing from Pirate Admiral Hooktusk. If you get lucky, you can steal 10+ cards from your opponent's deck, Zola the Hooktusk, then set up another turn where you steal the last cards they have in hand. This deck is supposed to be SUPER FAVORED into Control Warrior, but TERRIBLE into Demon Hunters. (Don't complain if you can't beat DH, it's not what the deck is designed to do)
Hi!, first of all I wanted to thank you for sharing your decks. I love them. I discovered you through BIG DRAGON (Very fun and need to think) and about of 60% winrate doing well.
And now I discover this deck and also the most recent rogue deck you have posted and it already forces me to write a comment. Thanks again ! They will be more or less effective but at least they are a bit off the beaten path and are fun and luckily for me, of my two favorite classes.
Do you have something planned for shaman ? or maybe Kazakusan mage ? Dreaming is free :P
One more question: Scabbs Cutterbutter is completely necessary ? I'm very tempted and it's the only one I'm missing.
I love this deck! I'm only down in Silver but it's a ton of fun. One cut I made was a SI:7 Extortion for Sir Finley, Sea Guide. Most of the early minion decks I face are Mech Mage or Mech Paladin and the Divine Shield makes that card awkward. Most of the decks I face are spell based, which means SI:7 Extortion is just a pure trade. I often find that I mulligan into my big threats like Mr.Smite or Hooktusk and Sir Finely lets me put them back in the deck for Vanndar to reduce later.
EDIT: After a few games, I have realized the problem with this. It stops the Van/Shadowstep combo. Opps!
