With the nerfs to Druid live this gives Warrior control decks a chance to come back.
In aggressive matchups you will want to mulligan for your control tools and armor - Guard the City, Rancor, Shield Shatter + Frozen Buckler (I wouldn't keep shatter without buckler though). Outriders Axe is also a crucial keep as draw is very important.
Against other control the key is getting as much value as possible. Mutanus becomes key here as you can usually snipe something big in the late game. Against control Paladins you will be looking to hit their Smite as he is getting some buffs. You also have Viper to ensure you can win in the late game against Cariel.
One thing to note about mirror matches with other Control Warriors is you want to avoid drawing as much as possible. I see others make the mistake frequently and then they have to dump cards or overdraw. Equip Outriders axe but avoid using it on minions for draw unless absolutely necessary.
This deck runs 6 dragons + Kazakusan so activating him is usually left for late game as an out against other control decks. Although I have found that getting Smite off Nellie along with some other decent pirates can win the game as well. Especially when you fire off Alexstrasza for extra burst.
This deck has a great combination of survivability, burst potential, and late game value. It feels really flexible and well suited to the current meta. If Druid becomes popular again then this deck will struggle but it does well against everything else. Let me know if there is anything you would change or how the deck is performing for you!
Provoke and executes are definitely bad here. Provoke doesn't really do enough to justify a card slot, and if you need execute to kill something you're not managing your other removal well (Brawl+onyxian drake+shield slam already take out all big threats). Also looking pretty weak on draw, I think 2x shield block is a no-brainer, and 1x forged in flame is most likely worth it as well.
The value payoffs are good, though like was already said I would drop the azure drakes for amalgams, Cheaper, usually more value if played on a dragon, and generally less awkward. Also can grab a beast in a pinch, so the card is almost never wasted in the deck.
As an alternative to from the depths + faelin, which you said gave you some issues against aggro, consider from the depths + sir finley. At his worst, finley is a 1 mana mulligan with a 1/3 attached, which is great if you're playing into aggro and your hand is too heavy or too value oriented. At his best (with from the depths) he generates insane value by letting you instantly receive the full benefit of the FTD discount.
im using a similar deck but instead of azure x2 and guard the city x2 i used one amalgam, and starfish for pally matchups, also in place of guard the city i used man the cannons and one from the depths for cheap kaz ,onixia or rokara
I really like the idea of amalgam's. I think those might be a decent replacement for the azure drakes. I will have to try that out and see if I still feel like I am hurting for card draw. I originally had from the depths along with faelin in order to try and cheat out some big stuff but I think it hurts the aggro matchup too much. I managed 9-2 yesterday with the current list but I think amalgams are a good swap.
