UPDATED LIST:
Troggs out for obvious reason. Instead went for 1 mana 1/3 which scales. It's better than 1/3 run in DH because we don't have many spells, but it actually gets honorable kill quiet often. I took it over 1/1 divine shield because there is no target we want to protect (except face but in case of DH it doesn't work anyway. Multistike and other things). Besides it's better buff target because with blessing of kings 1/1 is still only 5 health (bad spot for warrior games and usually not so much challange for DH to deal. IBut 7 health is something extra. It's also better target for your divine shield 2 mana buff.
I put out 3 mana 2/1 buffers because they are just low board impact also I wanted to make deck faster, curve smooother and the extra discount on battlecry actually helps you play this deck more efficently and faster as well. Any discount is good for you. And 2/2s stealth is good minion to buff or trade into 2/2s of DHs.
Other cards without changes.
===============================
So yeah... try it guys and tell me if it's that good or i was just lucky in my games.
Few extra things to say:
1. 2 mana legendary - you can play it on curve if you have nothning else, no big deal! Is it essential? Should say no but it really delivers some extra stats in mid-game if you don't have lethal yet. So if you have him - give him a shot. If don't,just add 2/2 stealth minion so you could play on curve.
2. Samuro - your only comeback. Must have. I've almost lost to druid once but i discovered 3 mana make his giant a 1/1 and the buff landed on Samuro. He played more stuff into board and my samuro just killed it in one swipe.
3. 2 mana 1/3 - excelant 2 drop! Discovery pool is small and it's easy to find good spells like another buffs or AOE. Must play! Besides the pool of 2 drops is really small, except 2/2 stealth there is nothing interesting there. I guess you can always run 1/1 divine shield but curve is important. Also we don't have much spells in deck so this provides you a holy spell for your next turn fish.
4. Smite - if you're funny enough try run Lady Prestor. The dragon pool is very small and they are all amazing. You can suddently play kazakusan, ysera or alex in your deck which is higher satisfaction than smite face ;-)
I would run 1/1s but there is no room in this deck... i have no idea what to cut and trogg actually gets you win more vs. quest hunter or druid. It's your choice. Druid is now very popular so i switched to trogg but it might get changed if meta will shift.
Recommand and waiting for any update of it's performance.
This is my favorite deck I've played so far in this set, it reminded me of why i main paladin
4-3 at low legend.. beat both Pirate Warriors, other matchups win/loss. Was fun.
How exactly are you clearing Mech Mage boards without sweepers? I don't see you ever beating a Druid without sweepers either.
I made this deck before druid was everywhere. There was just few of them and I guess people didn't know what to mulligan for? I even don't play anymore (at least for now), as a returning player I guess HS is not for me anymore. It changed into direction I can't accept. And on the brackets I played people didn't play mech mage at all, don't ask me why.
Played 10 games from d4 to d1, went 8-2. Four wins vs warrior, two vs mage, 1 dh and 1 hunter.
The two losses were both vs druid. Apparently turn 6 Onyxia is hard to beat. Nice and balanced :)
Overall pretty powerful deck I'd say. I guess priest would be annoying to play against as well since they can easily silence your stuff. Still should be winnable though, just not consistently..
I actually myself started to lose with it a lot but you know, legend is a weird place, if people get into the most powefull stuff. And as you said, turn 5 onyxia is just - well, that's game. I'm actually suprised how quickly the fun I had this expansion turned into total torment of druids and pirate warriors. So I'm out and waiting for nerfs (yeah, alread). I just can't stand druids and I don't want another 3 months of countering one deck.
