Final List for the Deck POST PATCH. Its a little slower, but more consistent against control and midrange. I call the deck "Trick Attack". Its got some teeth and is VERY fun to play. Features Maestra of the Masquerade and some nice potential high rolls. Here is a summary of the deck
TLDR then Breakdown
--------------------TLDR--------------------
Mull for Double Agent or Wildpaw -->
Keep Pressure on if you get ahead
***IF TEMPO gameplan is working, continue pressuring with big plays such as:
Strong Mana Cheat w/ Swiftscale or Coin + Crabatoa -->
***IF THIEF gameplan (BlessRNG) has provided the heart of the cards (OR your just facing Control):
Continue to Juice your THIEF Pool, and plan for multiple waves of pressure w/ Tess and Contraband
------Breakdown------
With such a board based and FAST meta atm, I've settled on this as the final list.
Here is a quick summary of the changes :
1.) This final list is more consistent in its mid-game threats. Adding in Queen Azshara gives you more options to follow up your Swiftscale + Blood in the Water or your Reconn plays.
-----Mulligan-----
Standard thief rogue w/ Maestra. Mulligan hard for Double Agent or Wildpaw Gnoll + Blackwater Cutlass
-----Mid Game-----
Here is where the deck gets spicy. You have three main routes:
1.) Leverage Swiftscale Trickster to cheat out Blood in the Water.
2.) Leverage a combination of Thief + Draw Cards (Vanessa, Reconnaissance, or Parrrley) to stabilize into hopefully a strong mid-game play such as:
Crabatoa OR Coin + Blood in the Water or a Queen Azshara
-----Closing It Out-----
Continue rounding out your Thief Cardpool w/ Ambassador Faelin , while digging for your finishers : Shadowcrafter Scabbs or Tess Greymane
OR Send Waves of pressure by dropping a well juiced Contraband Stash followed by more
-----DISCLOSURE-----
This deck is very RNG dependent, but very fun. I beat a Mech Mage with a bonkers Contraband Stash . As long as you don't take it too seriously, the fun times can happen.

2x (2) Reconnaissance
-----Mana Cheat/Big Spell-----
2x (4) Swiftscale Trickster
2x (5) Contraband Stash

This deck is nothing more than FUN! Against a secret hunter i got Vanessa on my starting hand. Hunter played the quest, so on my next turn i Coin+Vanessa to steal the quest :-D With all the damage spells in deck and from other classes quess who got the quest done faster?
Soon i also got Scabbs, played him and finished the quest. Then next turn it was spell, hero power and repeat until the hunter conceded xD 10/10
Any replacements for Crabatoa?
I just wanna share a funny game I've had with the deck + Discovered a new hunter deck to try?:
I got The Rat King through Reconnaissance and then Revive Pet through Swashburglar
I think you see where this is going.. with Tess/Stash, had a board full of Rat kings.
I wonder why I haven't seen the rat king/revive pet deck at all in Alterac Valley expansion
And in sunken city you can even make revive better with Twinbow Terrorcoil and Emergency Maneuvers
(Unfortunately I don't have the rat king to try this out, but it could work!)
too slow, no way to work. had a similar game at stormwind expansion
This deck is so much fun!
Especially when you manage to get (or even better, copy with Venessa) a good card
For example, a colossal minion (in particular: warlock's, warrior's or druid's because of the taunt)
AND ESPECIALLY if you shadowstep and play it again...
Then summon it with contraband or Tess.. over.. and over.. and over and over and over again
You can just feel your opponent soul being crushed.
Edit:
And btw, I'd rather lose a cutlass or parrrley for Faelin'. Shadowstep is too important imo.
I haven't tried it with him, but it's true he can make the deck more consistent to insure you get a good card.
Good call! Ive been feeling the same, cuz the Meta has slowed down a bit. Seeing more Ramp Druid and Silence priest, and Faelin gives quite a few consistant outs against those. I really like Cutlass to speed up the early turns for the super fast decks, but agreed! Get him in there!!
yeach you either crush your opponent or you lose badly..
i play steal rogue decks since forever and they are my favorite to play, anyway they are very rng and i never had deck with above ~65% win ratio..
gonna try this though..
With this deck you don't really crush or lose badly
it's very attrition oriented
But you do crush their souls!
Always play Okani and counter a spell before druid's turn 7, watch them play Scale of Onyxia... and concede.
Have you considered Ambassador Faelin for Tess/Contraband synergies?
Yes!! Another person mentioned this and I think it’s a great idea!!
if your at a rank where your playing a lot of ramp druid or other slower decks, then put it in!!!
Really fun deck. Thank you for posting. I swapped out a Shadowstep for an Ambassador Faelin, for the chance to have off class colossals in the tess & stash pool. Struggling with Pirate Warrior, but I struggle with Pirate no matter what deck I'm playing.
Yeah you gotta get ahead if its a pirate. By any means possible because then you have a chance to keep the board. Just played one a minute ago and the reason i won was i was able to kill The Fister and the cannoneer the turn they came down. Weaving in a dagger early andf holding it can get you a nice nefarian tooth clear on a the 3/4. But yeah, its essential you go first and then its essential you have like double agent immediatly on 3
It's very fun and I have a 75% winrate with this deck, cool !
75% at what rank? this keeps getting wrecked even vs mech mage at legend ranks.
im struggling to keep above 50% with this
This is not the deck to climb legend. At best you will climb to Plat 1, maybe Diamond 10. But its high variance will hold it back from beating consistent decks at legend. Better to play it for fun, and change to something better for climbing
Thanks! I didn't have much fun with this expansion until I found this deck :)
Appreciate it man! It’s not the best climbing deck, but I sure enjoy playing multiple Gigafins sometimes!!!
Any recommendations for alternatives to Crabatoa?
Ohh dang the Crab man is so important haha. Let’s see here. He’s there for a tempo board swing + chip face damage. Not many other rogue cards do that effectively
I was toying with the idea of adding Queen Azshara cuz three spells isn’t that hard with this deck. Could still pull you a nice turn 6 tempo swing if you have her
Your best bet tho is probably to toss in a Trogg as another good mulligan target
Thank you!
