Pure * Frost * Mage * ⛄🏂🍧
"I will burn the whole worl... wait. nvm. *casts Cone of Cold*."
Gameplan
Control the board by freezing and stalling enemies, shattering them when needed, and build up larger minions Ice Revenants and Ice Ogres to close up the game.
Cards
- Frostweave Dungeoneer : MVP. put a body, summon 2 1/1 that freeze, draw a spell, no brainer curve
- Cone of Cold: MVspell. mandatory for this deck to work, does little bit of everything, freeze, AoE, damage
- Ice Revenant : Good buff effect. finisher enabler. snowball hard if not removed :D discounted by Kindling
- Amplified Snowflurry: 0 mana hero power that freeze is useful
- Flurry: must have, very very strong in this deck at T10, useful at T5 already
- Blizzard: obviously awesome skill in this deck, just. awesome.
- Build a Snowman : more control. compensate the somehow lack of draw. 9/9 ogre help finish
- Shattering Blast: board clearing
- Kindling Elemental : useful discount on Amplified Snowflurry and Ice Revenant. the only fire outcast in an entire army of freezing ice snowmen :D
- Snap Freeze : useful control. cheap spell to buff Revenant. destroy frozen enemies, and you will have a lot of them
- Oasis Ally: water elemental at 1 mana discount. trigger for sure with this deck
- Floecaster : free 0-mana 5/5 drop, if not, at least very often discounted, makes you calculate your freeze moves :D
- Kalecgos: can discount Ice Ogre 9/9 to 0 for a very strong T9 turn, provide value and endgame this deck needs
- Sivera: compensate the lack of draw, adding our played frost spells back in hand to keep pressure and stalling the board, easier to buff Revenants when we played spells before them
- Rustrot Viper: yeah meta is crippled with weapons atm :/
Ice Barrier, Snowblind Harpy, Herald Lockhart cards not used because slow and there are better options at same mana cost (3-4)
Notes
The deck is good against aggro as a direct counter (stalling) but honestly average against control because it does not flood the board much nor provide hard to remove states. your best bet would be uncontroled Revenants, Floecaster free drops and Kalecgos push. Okani would help there.
Frozen enemy hero discounts Floecaster drop
Deck has all the necessary tools to control the board, you should achieve it and no minions should be able to reach your face
Having frozen enemies on the board is good for this deck. dont be eager to clear everything, they will be frozen next turn anyway :D (that being said....)
Make Taunts explode with Snap Freeze or Shattering, obviously ^^
Play discounted Revenant for good combos, you can free drop Kindling before playing Revenant on same turn if you arent able to discount before
Drop Floecaster before killing frozen enemies :D
Mulligan
Kindling Elemental or Amplified Snowflurry / Build a Snowman / Ice Revenant (as standard)
Cards to consider / Alternatives:
Queen Azshara: activated quickly with this deck, give more value to the deck
Okani: would be good in the deck to protect the board against control
Deepwater Evoker: the deck lacks a bit of spell draw now , this could help, i just like 1-drop sorceress better, i dont like "doing nothing on T1"
Wyrm Weaver: def needs to be tested in this deck given the amount of cheap spells
Snowblind Harpy: can work if you have a more defensive deck, stronger finishers
Rimetongue: i think it would be a very strong card in this deck. more freeze more fun more control
Varden Dawngraps: no brainer legendary which is perfect for this deck. cant craft it atm :'(
sorry but you're not allowed to attack xD
Thanks for reading.
no more f2p friendly but sivara is rly good in this deck (perma snowman , perma freeze / stall, buffing revenants more easily, help tons with the draw), if you havent closed the game by stalling their minions, exploding their taunts, trading advantageously and playing your big bois then its probably lost anyway, a "magic endgame card" wont help you much , kalecgos is the last "hmpph" to the archetype imo (free 9/9) , or your last option go kazakusan version of the deck
This deck looks like free.
Do you recommend this vs Aggro DH ?
yeah f2p ^^ recommended vs aggro can frustrate them because you stall the game a lot, freeze the hero and his weapon. you need to mulligan flurry for defense and frostweave to start controlling the board (best entry), and use the tempo Ice Revenant + Flurry (best at T5), usually they dont have a removal for 7HP and then you snowball. Floecaster is also a good tempo at 0 mana. deck has no issue tanking aggro tbh, its more lacking endgame after your revenants and ogres get whiped and a bit of draw.
you need to achieve absolute control of the board (especially vs aggro, since you are not running ice armor and they like to go face) its doable with all those frost spells and frost minion. "auto-curve" snowman is good to maintain presence. it takes a while to get accustomed to have frozen enemies instead of killing everything, so to say
vs DH its recommended to freeze the enemy hero whenever you can instead of minions. most damage come from there, you need to manage this with amplified hp, 1/1 ice elementals and snowmen
if you like the deck and want to improve it, recommend adding varden (top prio) and queen. and queen / malygos might be a better combo than queen / kalec. to be tested. a kazakusan version of this is also possible and might work fine for endgame (azure drake, faerie dragon)
whenever i play this deck i think this: "this deck has so much potential but hard to pilot :)"
Good, thanks!
replace Ysera by Queen Azshara (quickly activated) if you want more value (imo) , i havent the card
taelan too slow, added rustrot for weapons meta and draw 1 on trade, we have 2 endgames dragons anyway
