The era of flesh has ended... again. I haven't had the pleasure of piloting this deck in quite some time, but I imagine it will need some tweaking to be consistent. The new control spells along with Vanndar makes this look almost oppressive on paper, considering how most players will be trying to continue abusing Questline Warrior and Odd Questline Hunter for easy wins early next expansion, but at least the former of those has an endgame that may still be difficult to contend with. Even Mutanus can't eat the Questline reward if the opponent chooses to complete the Questline and play their reward in the same turn, so I thought it better to focus on drawing through the deck and surviving.
The one thing that could alter this deck going forward is the need to play every card before winning the game, unlike Mecha'thun Warlock which would be able to discard their unused cards. Snowed In requires a damaged target to play, but otherwise the cards are reasonably flexible as to when you can play them. The exact endgame combo will depend on the circumstances, any of Provoke, Shield Slam, Iron Hide, Snowed In, Sword and Board are your friends here, along with a potentially discounted To the Front! and of course Mecha'thun.
Potential inclusions: Reno Jackson (but you have so much armor so... eh), Sleep with the Fishes, Man the Cannons, I guess whichever Warrior control spells make you feel the most comfy (Brawl, Plague of Wrath, Reckless Flurry, Bladestorm, Warpath...). Really, this deck can go in a lot of different ways including choice of endgame combo. Jepetto Joybuzz?
With so many
assholesquests (pirate and hunter), I'd replace Snowed In with Rancor. I'm playing it for the achievements btw (To the Front! and Iceblood Garrison). You have to draw the entire deck to win and there's only 4 drawing cards. How are you supposed to do that?
You have a point, definitely. I believe the original version of the deck used cards like Acolyte of Pain along with whirlwind effects to draw multiple cards, which of course is an issue with Vanndar. Stage Dive + Claw Machine, as well as Cornelius Roame look to be the few options not included which could help with draw and not impact Vanndar, that or altering the deck to include more weapon tutoring spells along with Blacksmithing Hammer + Cutting Class, or maybe Outrider's Axe. Thinking on it, there may be some Whatley draw package you could create with Azure Drake, Stonemaul Anchorman and Claw Machine... I may post a list that looks a bit more like that if this armor version doesn't last out long enough.
