Hero Power Mage is a sleeper archetype and it is fun as hell! I have been making Mordresh decks since his release and honestly, this is the strongest the deck has ever been. Constant draw and discover makes sure your hand rarely runs dry, and the amount of times I've ripped someone's quest reward with Mutanus? Priceless. Give it a whirl! Let me know how you like it. I'm sitting at ~60% win rate climbing to legend after about 75 games.
- 2 Scorpid +2 Big Game Hunter
This change was due to the lack of agro in plat/early diamond. The BGH is so useful against things like handlock, libram paladin, and quest minions (all 7/7s).
-2 Orb +2 Cone
The Cone makes it so if your frostweave draws not wildfire, you get an extra benefit! and cone of cold helps stall, and works with your frost boi as well. It works, trust me!
-2 Firebrand +2 Death's Head Cultist
The majority of the time you lose with this deck, especially against agro, is the lack of defensive options. The cone of cold helps, but this gives just enough healing and defense to give you those few extra turns to smash.
52% winrate at over 100 games in ladder
-2 Wand Thief, +2 Armor Vendor
-2 Death's Cultist, +2 Imprisoned Overseer
-2 Cone of Cold, +2 Fire Sale
-1 Jandice, +1 Coldarra Drake
The changes make the deck more resistant to agro and direct face damage. A lot of wide boards are generated and so we want to be able to clear without any worry, but be able to trade it away if we're playing against spell mage. Wand Thief ends up being a 1 drop we cant play on 1, and the mana in this deck is pretty tight per turn, so the armor vendor ends up being a great backup, 3 health is beefy and 4 armor is nice! Coldarra for if you haven been using that hero power enough and you need a turn to set up Mordresh. Imprisoned overseer for more anti-agro (fuck you pirates!).
