As I promise, here is the deck guide! I think this deck very easy and fun to play. Very cheap to craft, no Epics, no Legendaries. You can climb ladder fast with this deck and it's designed to destroy Warlocks.
As this is the budget version of the deck, I'll talk about some better replacements at the end of the guide
General Idea
United in Stormwind introduce a new play style of Druid based on Attack with our hero and this is a good opportunity to build an Aggro Druid around that idea. This deck aims to beat down the opponent with little buffed minions and your hero itself. This isn't a Zoo-ish deck that cares about board control that much, as this is an aggro deck, you need minions to beat your opponent's face like in every other aggro deck. Of course you should do some trades but mainly, you want to go face.
Most of times your gameplay will be play your cheap minions early like Vibrant Squirrel, Intrepid Initiate, Wandmaker and Wickerclaw. Then play your spells to buff your minions with Adorable Infestation, Sow the Soil, Kodo Mount and Arbor Up. While attacking with your hero, using your hero power or some attack spells like Feral Rage and Moontouched Amulet. Because you are playing bunch of cheap card, you'll be out of gas quickly. To prevent this, we are playing some card drawing cards such as Faire Arborist, Twilight Runner and Voracious Reader.
Mentionable Cards and Tips
Sow the Soil: Flexible card. Both choices can be good but you should be careful. You have to decide to have board presence or extra damage.
Wickerclaw: One of the best cards in the deck. When you play this, your opponent will got scared, try to remove it as soon as possible and spend extra resources. If your opponent can't remove it, this bad boy may became a 3/4, 5/4 and broke your opponent into pieces.
Park Panther: Probably "the best" card in the deck. This deck is mainly builded around this card. Huge tempo play with 4 mana 4/4 Rush with extra 3 Attack for your hero. It helps activation of Wickerclaw and protects your other little minions.
Kodo Mount: This card is just insane. For just 4 Mana, it grants quick damage and stickiness on board with health buff and Deathrattle.
Nordrassil Druid: Very underestimated Core Set card. 4 Mana 3/5 Taunt with 3 Mana discount for your Feral Rage, Moontouched Amulet, Kodo Mount and Arbor Up. Basically 3/5 for 1 Mana. Almost always, you need tyry to use this card with its full value, which is spell mana discount. It can grant an early swing turn from turn 4.
Arbor Up: Generally good card. Grants you extra damage and board presence. You should be careful! You shouldn't be greedy with this card. Most of times it is good enough to play Arbor Up on just 1 or 2 minions. You need to finish your opponent fast with this deck, you can't risk it just for more tempo.
Voracious Reader: This card can be very important in midgame and endgame. You need all card draw you can.
Wandmaker: This card is especially good with Druid. It can grant you extremely good cards with Guidance, Nature Studies and Resizing Pouch or gives you tempo with Adorable Infestation and Sow the Soil. Worst card you can get is Partner Assignment which is not a bad card.
Matchups
I think our worst matchups are Quest Mage and Quest Shaman. These decks have a lot removals and defensive plays which can destroy our game plan. You should go extremely aggro against these matchups kill them as soon as possible, otherwise you'll be the who is killed.
Our best matchups are combo decks like Quest Warlock(our main target), Miracle Rogue, Demon Hunter etc. You can quickly beat them down while they are trying to survive until their combo plays.
Against other aggro decks like Face Hunter and Shadow Priest, we are pretty good. We have a lot of damage as they do but we have a lot of sustain that they don't have. Such as Feral Rage, Moontouched Amulet and Nordrassil Druid.
There are very little control decks out there for example Quest Priest and Big Warrior but we are pretty good against them too. They are very slow and we can easily kill them.
For mulligan there isn't much to do. Just try to keep your early drops: Adorable Infestation Vibrant Squirrel Wickerclaw Intrepid Inıtiate Wandmaker
Possible Replacements
Since this is a budget guide, we use the cheapest cards that we can and of course there are better choices.
For an example, you can play Cornelius Roame instead of Faire Arborist to draw more cards. Or you can play Composting for card draw but it isn't as flexible as Cornelius Roame. You can even try Peasant but its pretty risky.
You can play Greybough to have more defense.
Nordrassil Druid does not have taunt. Great deck though! It's been treating me well, thanks!
What do you think about adding the Quest to this deck, I have it laying around and wondered if it was possible to add in
This version is much more aggro than the quest. We don't need the armor so we can beat the opponent faster.
Guide is up guys! Enjoy it.
Thank you! Great guide! Do you think this deck would benefit from robes of protection at all? -Maybe just one? What rank are you running this if you don't mind me asking?
I'm at legend and it is tested in a different account which is diamond too. Robes of Protection is a decent tech card to be used in this meta and it can fit this deck pretty good if you want to protect your minions against spells.
Neat deck, very budget!
Made a couple of changes:
- 2 Feral Rage, -1 Faire Arborist
+2 Animated Broomstick, +1 Cult Neophtye
Definitely seemed to help out a lot!
would love a guide :)
I'm preparing a guide but there is an interesting situation. Deck can't be edited right now on Hearthpwn. I'm waiting response from mods about that.
6-1 so far in D5/D4 played against anything but Warlock and it ramms the fck out of the opponent...
so far lost once to Quest Mage (in the name of god please NERF IT - even after nerfs their draw is absolutely ridiculous.......)
hope you share some guide to the deck, much appreciated!!!!
I'm glad you did well. Yes mage is kinda this deck's worst matchup. I think I'll prepare a guide.
very cool and original deck, thank you.
Enjoy it!
