My hope for this list is to created the number 1 Rogue deck. As a community, I believe we can refine this list and bring rogue back to the top where we belong. Help me through this journey and making Rogue #1.
As it stands, the purpose of this deck is to overwhelm your opponent with tempo through the SI:7 package + Questline and finish them off with chip damage + Wicked Stab or 10 mana Tenwu of the Red Smoke + Alexstrasza the Life-Binder 16 damage combo. This is a theorycrafted so who knows if it will actually be a viable pick. Regardless, I hope you have fun with the new cards I included into this deck. Best of luck on ladder!
***I will keep a section of edits I make to the list so you can follow along with the deck progression. This list is subject to change and alterations as the meta evolves over time***
ALL POSSIBLE SPY GIZMOS
10 mana Tenwu of the Red Smoke + Alexstrasza the Life-Binder combo can be achieved by discounting the cards by a total of 2 (whether that be through Shadowstep, SI:7 Skulker or Efficient Octo-bot). Essentially the combo goes like this.
I only included the SI:7 cards I think would be useful to include in the deck. I wanted to cut some and in order to mitigate that so that I can still find success finishing the questline, I included 2 copies of Entrapped Sorceressfor potential generation of another copy. If I can't copy another SI:7, this card is still effective with other spells generated as well as a solid stat baseline.
In other match-ups (aggro & tempo), your goal is to control the board with tempo cards like SI:7 Skulker, SI:7 Assassin, SI:7 Agent, SI:7 Operative. As the game progresses, you will accumulate the Spky gizmos and will hopefully complete your quest that will assist you in your journey for board control. If you are able to stick a board against aggro and other tempo decks, you are usually in good position to finish them off Alexstrasza or just through face damage.
Additional keeps against Control: Kazakus, Golem Shaper
The tempo Jandice provides might prove to be too valuable to leave out. If you find that Battlemaster is often a dead card. Swap it out for Jandice.
Wicked stab might need to go if we decide the deck needs more flexibility with tempo plays with Augmerchant or Plunderer. Both of these cards can also manually trigger Octo-bot which is an added bonus
If we begin to feel Nobleman is not the correct choice and feels clunky in our hand, I recommend we swap it out for mailbox dancer as this will provide a card for combo activators as well as instant tempo.
All in all, this was a fun deck to mess around with and imagine its potential. This deck might be terrible, but as the meta slowly refines itself maybe this can be a solid foundation for a future archetype. If you enjoyed viewing this guide and theorycrafting with me please upvote this deck and leave a comment with your thoughts and suggestions on potential upgrades to the deck. I welcome all friendly advice. Thanks again!
