Hey everyone! My name is Funki Monki and I'm a world famous off meta deckbuilder! I build and refine new off meta decks every day to break the meta but my most famous creation is Libroom Paladin! I hope you enjoy this fun new off meta deck!
A lot of work goes into refining each deck so if you enjoy this deck, don't forget to upvote it! :)
I post daily off meta decks on my YouTube -> Click Here

General mulligan:
Studies, Custodian, Wandmaker, Naralex, Vashj, Marshspawn (going second), Dungeoneer, Portal, Scorpid, Surge/Landslide (vs Aggro)
Quick Notes:
Control Shaman needs to be very "tempo" focused to control the game/board and close out games with burn. That's why you don't see cards like Ysera, C'Thun, Al'akir, Malygos, Primordial Protector, etc because Shaman doesn't have efficient healing cards to stall games for very long like a Priest does so we have to discover cards that help us clear boards while developing "tempo" to eventually bring our opponents health down to 0.
Warning: This is a very difficult deck to play because there are so many discovers and decisions to be made each game (like a Priest) but that's what makes it so versatile and good. Depending on each matchup we can discover different things as the game goes on to find our win condition or help in any matchup.
Stats are from D5-Legend and from 2k-1700 Legend:
Really fun deck but also really bad against DHs both of deathrattles and OTKs.....
I agree completely with this.I had games where everything fell into place, with discovering the right cards at the right time to win.
But a lot of games ended with a loss because I didn't get the cards or draw Bru'kan.
Its not that this deck is that difficult to play. Its shaman itself that is a difficult class to play, given the cards that are available to it.Primal is not enough to raise it to the same level as the other classes. But kudos to Funki Monki for this deck.I think it shows the possibilities of what shaman could be.
deck often relies entirely on discovering several burn spells to finish with bru'kan, might as well just play a straight up burn deck in the first place, or basically any other shaman deck. there's very little reason to be playing this control shell over priest right now outside of enjoying the discover/rng generation aspect (which priest also does better)
Yup, the win condition is to draw Brukan and face damage spells. Why not just have the face damage spells in there to begin with?
Dude this deck is awesome, I've been playing at shamans for 6 years and after the last addon, I thought that control shaman is dead, but you showed it wasn't, thanks for that.
p.s I think mo'arg could be a good option for this deck, it's just a little short on healing.
p.p.s Everyone who has a win rate below 65% just doesn't know how to play this deck, learn to play this isn't your hunter or aggro shaman (I have a win rate at 80%).
Thanks for the deck! I didn’t expect it to be so interesting to play, I use it from rank 5, 16 - 8 count. I thought about adding yogg-saron here, against the control warriors and priests, but so far I come across only demon hunters and shamans
You're welcome, and glad to hear it's been working well for you! Yogg is definitely an interesting card! Feel free to add him for a fun factor, but I probably wouldn't recommend it because, like you said, there's a lot of aggressive decks right now with Shamans, DH, and Hunters so in a lot of games you might not even make it to turn 10 or afford an expensive card like that in hand
Just played a no minion mage with this deck. He had 1 card for 4 or 5 turns but I couldnt find a way to deal enough dmg to his face.
Probably a deck for more skillful player then me lol.
aw, dang! The deck does take quite a bit of practice for sure! But sometimes you'll just get unlucky and/or your opponent will get lucky and that's the nature of card games
I will give you a vote if you change that stupid 79%
Not that he needs the clickbait number. Pretty sure lots of people check his deck out anyway. A lil disappointed.
I don't see what's wrong with including the WR in the title... It's not like it's clickbait because it's an honest WR from a pretty decent sample size to show that Control Shaman can be good since a lot of other Control Shaman decks have been underperforming lately. I think it'd be more misleading if I said something like "100% WR!" when I went 3-0 lol. I don't like to include the WR in the title normally unless its from a good sample size. In this case, I felt like it was a partial descriptor of the deck since it's quite new from any other Control Shaman list out there. If you enjoy the deck, an upvote is always appreciated to help visibility on this site so others can see it, but I'm never going to beg for upvotes
Man decks at 60% wr start becoming so oppressive that people ask for nerfs. And this is at 75%???
By the way I tried it and it’s a 50% if at all
Yes, but that's with 1000's of games played with those meta decks too. When I Invented Libroom Paladin back in Scholomance Academy I had a 91% WR from 16000 Legend to 1000, but obviously that's just 1 player and the global WR will go down as thousands more play it (and it did end up becoming one of the best decks in the world). 50% with this list is actually still better than any other Control Shaman list out there so that's not bad with a high skill cap deck! I like to compare this to Priest because of so many discovers the skill cap will increase and even though Priest is always <50% WR globally it's the best deck in high legend due to this. I would never put a WR in my title to mislead you but rather give you some kind of an idea that it's a viable deck, especially with practice.
Nope I even got misled by my initial 50%. This loses to every single control deck out there since it has 0 late game value. So definitely not even a 50%, at least at D5 that is
I mean just because you're not having success with it doesn't mean it's a bad deck lol. Quite a few others are having great success with it! But that's the nature of Hearthstone, right? Not everyone will do well with every deck. For every person that has a 90% WR there's bound to be some that end up with a 10% WR. Sorry to hear you didn't have good luck with it, and hope you find a deck that works for you on your own climb to legend!
As far as late game value vs other control decks, in one game I OTK'd a priest with a few discovered bolts/portals with Bru'kan and against a Warrior I won by discovering a Vivid Spores with a decent board + Notetaker for infinite boards. There is a late game, you just have to find it :)
Ignore the haters. They love shitting on decks but never create one of their own. Keep up the good original content
32 games is only 16 expected wins for a 50% WR deck. I'd say 100 expected wins or 200 games against players of your skill level is the absolute minimum before even speculating on deck WR.
There is no way that this deck wins 79% of the time in the current meta, so yes, it's basic-tier clickbait.
Wow Dude, this looks really like a fun deck.
After I have learned to get used to Shaman more with Thijs' eLULmental deck, I do want to run this one. Mutanus is a deceptive strong card as it can protect your board, yet it is also very dicey.
I do believe that it even fits better in this deck and the Rune Dagger is really bonkers, 2 mana 2x Spell Power is actually OP, I forgot because how poor Shaman used to be.
I also love your energy, you're really uplifting!
