Hello everyone
I've posted here like 4 Reno Exodia Paladins, and they were all fine but this one, finally, gave me legend rank (d5-legend). Gameplay is very fun and contains many pretty cool synergies.
If someone don't know how to exodia, you take 2 horsemen to hand (brewmaster, zola, secret), then you play them with Garrison Commander and you win, however usually you just win by surviving aggro.
REPLAYS:
- Epic long game against Reno double N'Zoth Warrior finished by the Four Horsemen at the end of the deck.

- The inevitable end of one Reno Mage (notice that Explosive Runes that could cost me a game)

- That new warlock. As you can see, if he runs just big minions, you 're usually fine, cause you have 3 hard boardclears. If he runs mechatun, then it's usually loss.

- Secret mage. I'm not sure why i'm keep winning with them. This is the game that looks like the most fair one.

- Murloc Shaman. Just kill first murlocs with any effort needed. (Games are usually shorter than this one but long one also happen.)

- Pirate warrior/more or less any aggro

Guide:
In mulligan just look for cheap cards, especially Zephrys, the Great. Against priest and warlock you can also keep Kazakus.
Mage: Secret; Don't try to play around Counterspell if you can't, just take the risk. It's more profitable in the long run. Try to trigger Explosive Runes with Lord Barov. Mozaki/AMP; try to do High Priest Tekhal Reno Jackson and keep pushing. It's a hard matchup so if it's to oppressive, just add Dirty Rat for something you don't like.
Warlock: If it's plot twist with big minions, it usually fine cause you have 3 options for clearing the board. If you meet many Mechathuns, add Dirty Rat, cause you just can't win without something like that. Discard; is like any aggro
Paladin: Handbuff; try to win before he buffs his hand to much, early Molten Giant especially welcome. Odd; Wild Pyromancer, Zeph, you should be fine but remember how much damage these both decks can deal from hand.
Shaman: Murloc; kill turn 1-3 murlocs with any effort, unless you have Barov into Broomstick. Shudderwock; just try to kill him before Shudderwock.
Druid: Celestial; is very hard, i think the only option here is early Molten Giant. Token; Just focus on surviving turns 1-3 and you should be fine.
Rogue: Kingsbane; seems easy, just zephrys, healing, taunts.
Warrior: Pirate; survive first turns (sometime you just can't like with token druid) and don't give up, they often miss like 1-5 dmg. Odd; just keep his armor low so he can't kill you with Silas.
Hunter: Face; find something to heal it's easy matchup. Tonk; be aware they can deal like 32 dmg in one turn.
DH: Odd; find Reno quickly, have some cheap card on the starting hand.
Priest: Reno; try to do High Priest Thekal Reno Jackson combo. Your health should be always more than 3/2 of his health, cause then you survive Shadow Spawn combo ] Big; is usually hard match up but with zephrys and your boardclears you actually can survive and win by exodia.
Hero Powers tierlist
Tier 1 : Mage, Warrior, Warlock (look out for the overdraw)
Tier 2 : Priest, Paladin, Druid, Rogue.
Tier 3 : Shaman (tier 1 against Kingsbane Rogue), Hunter, DH.
Replacements:
Kazakus, Golem Sharper - Consecration
(Archdruid Naralex or Crystalsmith Kangor or Loatheb or Lynessa Sunsorrow) - 1Dirty Rat, 2Mutantus the Devourer, 3Solemn Vigil, or anything you like.
Look out for some cool otk games.
Been playing this deck recently and absolutely crushing Quest warlock with the Lorekeeper / Holy Wrath combo. They never see the 20/25 dmg burst coming lol
Glad to hear that:))
Quest warlock: I am tier 1
Exodia Paladin: Look at me. I am tier 1 now
Yeah i did the same. I even had like 55% wr against quest warlock. I switched Mutanus for Vol'jin and Secret for Dirty Rat and realized vol'jin is not necessary so i added Lightbringer's Hammer.
I know it's been a while but this deck is so much fun. Been playing casual wild with it and against other non meta decks seems to do great. If you ever make a new Reno paladin in future make sure to post
Thank you very much. Well, i was trying to make reno exodia paladin work for a long time and i finally did it (u can see other ones in my decks if you want) so i will probably take a break from paladin but there is that new card Mailbox Dancer which gives you a coin so the quest is not needed anymore so who knows, maybe i will try to make new version with Auctionmaster Beardo one day. Btw,check out the little change i did in Revision History:)
Is tiger and wrath necessary? Have whole deck except tiger but wasn't sure if worth crafting or meme combo
I actually lost to a version that played libram + Beardo then spammed librams of wisdom to activate Beardo/OTK me with horsemen. Took them forever to set up though and I was playing a meme deck
The tiger is good by itself. I actually added whole Lynessa package to reduce the cost of the tiger so the deck will not be as good without it. I like this deck so much because every card beautifully connects with other ones so if you really like this deck, just save some dust for the tiger.
is there any possible replacement for High Priest Thekal ???
His effect is quite unique, there is a 1 drop that does it with 5 health, but i don't think it's good enough for playing it here. His very good in this deck, but his not necessary, so just play anything you like.
thanks man
How do you get holy wrath to reliable pull tiger? Or is it just crossing your fingers and usually a trash card?
Nevermind, I am guessing you use lorekeeper then wrath on same turn?
That's right, that's the strategy but Holy Wrath is usually good enough to just play it on turn 5. Everything depends on the matchup.
Can I ask what getaway Kodo is for? is it needed... played the deck for a while and don't see its use .... would it be better swapping for a consecration
Getaway Kodo is for getting back one of the horsemen (or something that can get you a horseman so bremaster and zola). Before i've started playing kodo i had played Ancient Brewmaster, but secret is way more flexible (and they're naturally not sure which one is it) and i wanted to play Kazakus which is also the reason for not playing consecration.
You didn't see the use, cause the meta is usually stupid and you don't have many opportunities to win by DK combo, but against aggro you can use it for gettiong back zeph or something.
i mean, it's not necessary, cause you can play that combo without it. it's more like a backup if they get rid of Garrison Commander or Zola and i think is good enough for running it.
right thanks for explaining- i think i had an idea what the point of it was its just that I never needed it so wondered if I was doing something wrong. the thing is by turn 9 plus using getaway is unreliable and too slow compared to other options in my opion. Im going to switch it now for something else. thanks for the deck - Ive had some great fun so far
I really think murloc tastyfin would make an excellent slot in the ‘replacement section’. I don’t have kazakus so I ran tastyfin instead and I think it’s pretty good! It tutors exactly Finley and mutanus. What do you think? :)
Well, in aggro meta it would be definitely to slow, but if you're facing mostly midrange/combo/control decks, then sure, he's an excellent replacement.
