We've been trying to make BIG demon demon hunter work and I think we finally have a list that works.
We are sitting at 50% win rate after 20 games, so it's certainly not the best demon hunter deck around, but I can promise that it's fun to play and different from most of the net deck lists out there.
As always, I've made a video guide to help with understanding the win conditions, mulligans, combos and strategies as well as my overall verdict for the deck
enjoy
I went ahead and fully disenchanted my Paladin deck that I've been playing to play this deck. I was tired of playing Paladin and just wanted to have fun. I took your advice in what to take out and what to put in and made some edits of my own. Kurtrus Ashfallen didn't seem like a necessary card, so I had no issue replacing him. So far, the deck is fun. Just summoning big dudes is fun. Priest is definitely unwinnable. I don't even like Demon Hunter as a class to begin with, but I just wanted a fun deck to play, since all the other decks are "Beat your opponent so bad that they literally cannot do anything".
Here are the changes I made after your suggestions:
-2 Magehunter
-1 Kurtrus Ashfallen
-1 Skull of Gul'dan
-1 Priestess of Fury
+2 Chaos Strike
+1 Taintheart Tormenter
+1 Glide
+1 Chaos Nova
As you can see, I didn't really change a lot, I just decided that having at least 1 Skull of Gul'dan and another big demon in Priestess of Fury would make the deck better to play. I also added in the new demon Taintheart Tormenter for another big dude that disrupts your opponent, even by just a little bit. I had tried with 2, but it felt a tad clunky.
On a side note, it's weird for me to see the word "TormentOr" spelled "TormentEr". I had to look it up to see if it was the correct spelling, but it seems like both are correct.
I really wish you wouldn't have pointed that E out.... I can never unsee it xD
How has it been going for you? my list has changed up quite a bit from the comment since the mini set dropped
It's actually been going good. I've managed to beat both Druid and Priest, albeit with a bit of luck. There are times when you have to use cards you don't want to, but in order to survive you have to. Taintheart Tormenter pretty much won me any game against Druid since they can't clear it very easily, so they have to use all their mana. Skull of Gul'dan really helps getting the big demons out and controlling the board. I feel like the only card I WOULD swap out is probably Relentless Pursuit, but I wouldn't know what to swap it out with
Really cool deck! About to try it now, but just upfront I'm noticing a couple things.. Gonna try your version first but here are the changes I'm considering. Also forgive me in advance for totally butchering your deck before I even bother to play it, just wanted to get my ideas down before I forget! About to try out both and see which feels better.
-2 Animated Broomstick
-2 Armor Vendor
-2 Magehunter
-2 Relentless Pursuit
-2 Aldrachi Warblades
-1 Glide
-2 Skull of Gul'dan
+2 Tuskpiercer
+2 Immolation Aura
+2 Soul Shear
+2 Wandmaker
+2 Luckysoul Hoarder
+2 Marrowslicer
+1 Soulciologist Malicia
Tried to avoid Outcast as much as possible since the hand isn't too maneuverable (only kept Eye Beam on off chance you pull Double Jump from Wandmaker). Tuskpiercer is the biggest addition, as it lets you fetch Fel Summoner to launch your offense right on turn 6. Since I added in more weapons, it felt necessary to cut Aldrachi Warblades, and that had a cascading effect on the rest of the early game.
interesting idea - i luke the tuskpiercer pulling fel summoner, but I think you might struggle with the severe loss of guaranteed heal.
Hopefully the soul fragment do the trick
Let me know how this goes
First off, having a blast. But yeah.... soul fragments did not do the trick haha. You were right, healing needs to be more consistent. Now that I understand the deck a little better, here are my edited changes:
-2 Magehunter
-1 Fel Summoner (This feels weird to cut but it just hasn't impressed me as much as Raging Felscreamer & Pit Commander)
-1 Glide (Lowered the curve overall and cut some outcasts, so this isn't as needed)
-1 Kurtrus Ashfallen (This also feels weird to cut, but I added in so much AoE he's not needed)
-1 Skull of Gul'dan
-2 Priestess of Fury (this feels so bad to pull vs the others)
+2 Chaos Strike
+1 Manafeeder Panthara
+2 Immolation Aura
+2 Chaos Nova (this has helped A LOT)
+1 Shadow Hunter Vol'jin (more versatile than Fel Summoner)
I've had mixed results with both versions so far, but the matches have felt very close barring a druid match I had that that was laughably bad. There's definitely something here and it's a lot of fun at the least!
cool - keep me in the loop with the experiments FOR SCIENCE!!!
Here's the changes I ended on:
-2 Magehunter
-1 Kurtrus Ashfallen
-2 Skull of Gul'dan
-2 Priestess of Fury
+2 Chaos Strike
+2 Immolation Aura
+1 Glide
+2 Chaos Nova
Finished 8-10 through all the iterations, but I made a lot of mistakes, and honestly felt like I got more unlucky than usual. Gonna give it another go at some point tomorrow. Priest feels unwinnable, they just don't care about your big guys and can generate unlimited ammo. Opted for the second glide to try to catch them with a 5-6 card burn and hope for a win that way. Rogue is likewise very tough with the secret package specifically. Been dumping on mages, paladins, demon hunters, and warriors though!
nice one - will give this a go
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
yup! definite add
My list has changed quite a bit!! New set brought a lot of love to this archetype. You've inspired me to create a list of my own! Here's link if you wanna check it out.

Nice deck, but no chance against Tick-Warlock, which was 100% of my matchups :(
ooof sorry
Recently unpacked a Kurtrus, so i'll try this. I'll write my experience after that :)
looking forward to it
Loved it so much! I love playing off meta decks, i love more if i win with them. This deck is so good in some matchups so bad in others. Pretty polarized matchups i would say.
Also i noticed that strength of this deck comes from opponent's inappropriate mulligan, they assume it's a midrange deck.
Overall it's very good deck %56 winrate through lower silvers to diamond 10. Must confess that i sucked first few games since it's not so basic deck to pilot.
This deck is way too draw dependant 1-4 against paladyns, 2-1against rouges. Without outcasted skull of guldan it is crap and in muligans if you get a high cost card on the most left side you can surrender...
Glide
You have only 1 copy and you need to draw it :)
