*Gibberling Noises*

Late in this month, May, 2021, Season 85, I hit LEGEND with this Aggro Druid deck list. I did not have a ton of time to play HS this month, so I wound up going with something that has been in the Wild format for quite some time instead of something more experimental. This deck wound up going 19-3, with roughly a 86% winrate. Keep in mind this is from an absurdly small sample size and that the actual winrate for this deck archetype is more likely going to be closer to 54-59% winrate.

My Match-up Stats

Demon Hunter: N/A

Druid: 2-1

Hunter: 1-0

Mage: 1-0

Paladin: 5-0

Priest: 4-0

Rogue: 2-0

Shaman: 2-1

Warlock: 2-1

Warrior: N/A

Overall Game Plan

This deck aims to establish an early and large board presence. We either want to maintain board by taking favorable trades, or just buff our board beyond reasonable early board-clearing cards. We either want to keep our opponents off the board to win, or use something like Savage Roar or Arbor Up to burst down our opponents for the win.

Mulligans

Generally, we want Gibberling, Bloodsail Corsair, Living Roots, a single Embiggen, Nerub'ar Weblord, Southsea Deckhand, Thorngrowth Sentries, and Parachute Brigand. On The Coin, it is far more reasonable to keep things like a single Mark of the Lotus or Power of the Wild. Just keep in mind that you need early game plays to fight and win board. We really want to be able to create high-stat early boards.

Specific Mulligans

Against other fast decks, I kept Adorable Infestation for the sake of keeping board and fighting for it. It also gives a little bit of card advantage with the extra Marsuul Cub in hand.

If the opening hand is light enough, I kept Voracious Reader for some snowballing early game draw.

Card Substituions

Pirates... in Druid...?

We run a package of Pirates to make sure we get value off Embiggen and Mark of the Lotus and Power of the Wild. Pulling out Patches the Pirate and Parachute Brigand cards that are buffed or can be buffed for free makes our board presence much more prominent and offensively impactful. Southsea Deckhand is purely to pull them both out, whereas Bloodsail Corsair also serves this purpose, but also has the small upside of hitting some of the weapons in the meta.
