Hi Guys, my name is sOdArIk and I’m from Germany.
I’m playing Hearthstone since open beta and hit multiple times legend with homebrew decks.
At the start of the new expansion I thought to myself: If there is a no minion Mage, there has to be a deck with no Spells. And born was the no spells Deathrattle Demonhunter :D
I played the deck since day one of the expansion. The deck survived deck of Lunacy for 2 mana and the horde of paladins which followed after the nerfs.
I played different versions of the deck and want to show the one (v2.4) that got me to legend this season.
Proof of Legend:
Stats:
These stats include the last season too.
These stats are only from this season.
General things:
Because the deck has no spells it is a heavily board focused one. You win by conquering the board and overwhelming your opponents with your army of deathrattle minions.
The average game length is 7 to 8 minutes and 9 to 10 turns.
The best matchups for this deck are vs Demonhunter (all variations), Warlock, Paladin (all variations) and Mage (my stattable doesn't agreee on this O_o)
The hardest matchup by far is vs Priest (all variations)
So every matchup except for Priest feels winnable!!!
Benefits for heaving no spells?
Oh My Yogg!, Counterspell, Netherwind Portal and Dirty Tricks are nearly useless and Ogremancer is just a 3/7
And the most important...You play a cool deck!!!
The Cards!
Animated Broomstick
One of the most important cards to conquer the board. Sometimes you have to play it only for one minion. Can be game winning in the right situations.
Trueaim Crescent
This is your boardcontrol tool number one. It allows your minions to hit face, trade afterwards and activate your deathrattles in the right moment.
Tuskpiercer
Early game control and for draw
Nerubian Egg
Board protection. Sometimes you eggtivate (hahaha) them yourself with Trueaim Crescent or Teron Gorefiend.
Razorboar (WTF why is that a beast?)
Bread and Butter for early game. Pulls out your Nerubian Egg, Death's Head Cultist and Razorfen Beastmaster. (OK, OK, sometimes it pulls Teron Gorefiend but a free 3/4 is better than nothing ;))
Death's Head Cultist
The only way to regenerate your life. Important vs early aggression from Hunter and Demon Hunter.
Mankrik
Even after the nerf, Mankrik is very good in this Deck because normally you draw very well.
Razorfen Beastmaster
Same as Razorboar. You can pull off good combos with Animated Broomstick and your rush minions.
Teron Gorefiend
Beside Trueaim Crescent your activation tool for the deathrattles. Can be game winning in the right situations.
Fishy Flyer
Simply for boardcontrol.
Renowned Performer
Boardcontrol and defensive tool.
Vengeful Spirit
Draw tool and one of the best cards in this deck! (OK, OK sometimes it is only a 4/4 for 4 Mana)
Burning Blade Acolyte
Very slow deathrattle. Board protection in control matchups. Defensive tool vs others.
Taelan Fordring (Core Set Legendary)
Defensive tool and draw for your lategame.
Vectus
Can be devastating with the right deathrattles and or Animated Broomstick
Cairne Bloodhoof (Core Set Legendary)
He’s the leader of the Tauren. Enough said.
High Inquisitor Whitemane (Core Set Legendary)
Very good card which can win games on its own.
Death Speaker Blackthorn
He’s the guy that allows us to play this Deck. Best Card in the deck by far!
Coilfang Warlord
Lategame control tool and serious threat for the opponent if he's in his rushform on board.
Combos
Teron Gorefiend
An eggcellent combo is Turn 2 Nerubian Egg into turn 3 Teron Gorefiend. If you have a little followup the board is yours most of the time.
You should only play Teron Gorefiend on Razorboar and/or Razorfen Beastmaster if they can pull something from your hand and the boardstate allows it.
If you can sent a “filled” Teron Gorefiend into a minion with your Trueaim Crescent and have Animated Broomstick as a followup you can really turn the tables and win games that you never thought you would.
High Inquisitor Whitemane
Allows you to whipe the board with your minions, summon them back and put a solid body on the board. Turn 5 into Burning Blade Acolyte is very slow. The opponents often ignore this little 1/1. If you can followup with a High Inquisitor Whitemane you got an 5/8 Taunt and a 5/7 for 6 Mana.
Imagine this:
It’s turn 5 and you have a Razorfen Beastmaster in play. The opponent doesn’t want to kill this minion yet on his own and leaves him alone. Now it’s turn 6, you trade the Razorfen Beastmaster into an enemy minion, it pulls Fishy Flyer or Renowned Performer from your hand. You trade that minion too and play High Inquisitor Whitemane. You cleared the board and have a large board on your own.
You trade Taelan Fordring and resummon him and so on…
At worst you play her as a 5/7 on 6 for tempo.
Animated Broomstick
Nearly every board can combo well with Animated Broomstick.
Crazy combos with Teron Gorefiend and High Inquisitor Whitemane are possible.
With a good curve it happens that you have Death Speaker Blackthorn, the Coin and Animated Broomstick on turn 7. This combo can swing the board in your favour with the right pulls.
Mulligan
Cards you should always keep with or without the coin:
Death Speaker Blackthorn except vs Hunter (highest priority!)
If you have Nerubian Egg and Teron Gorefiend keep both!
Razorboar and Razorfen Beastmaster, even if you don’t have a minion they can pull.
Trueaim Crescent except for control matchups.
Vengeful Spirit if he’s on the left. Even vs Hunter you keep this guy on the left.
Teron Gorefiend alone except for control matchups.
Death's Head Cultist vs Mage and Hunter
Another Tip:
Don’t always coin Death Speaker Blackthorn on 6. Only do so if you are in need to and have a strong followup.

And now pls try to enjoy the Deck ;)
Just crafted Vectus for the last card & WOW first game get egg turn 2/3 then Teron 4, priest kills it I top deck Vectus rez the eggs with double 4/4 DR's haha he kills em and concedes turn 5.
Hi Kyronic :),
nice to see that still someone is enjoying the deck ;)
This season was very rough at the beginning. I switched to Big Demon Hunter.
I never tried out the new Deathrattle minions. Maybe the deck would be be a little bit better with new additions.
Cheers to you and have fun with the deck ;)
Your deck is just solid, budds! And with the new additions from the new miniset it can be even stronger!
But cool to hear you have a new dh in stock! Care to share with us if you have the time?
Thx again :),
if i have the time i will share a guide to the Big Demon Hunter ;)
Sweet deck dude! I removed 1xTrueaim Crescent for another Tuskpiercer since I felt it's a little too short on draw.
Also changed Mankrik, Cairne Bloodhoof and Vectus for 2xClaw Machine and a N'Zoth, God of the Deep. I found you won't always trigger Olkra since the deck lacks of draw, and felt Vectus was a little to slow since you rely on broom and there are a lot of deathrattles that basically do nothing sometimes. I really like Cairne, but wanted to push more the N'Zoth (and also have some additional draw)
Love the idea!
Thank you :D
Adding additional draw is good. I had 2 Tuskpiercer in other versions too :).
With the addition of the second Tuskpiercer and the two Claw Machine i wouldn't cut Mankrik because he is a really solid threedrop.
Cairne Bloodhoof is most likely the card that i would replace at the moment. Maybe Al'ar would be a nice addition for the N'Zoth, God of the Deep.
I replaced Vectus often times but i always came back to him :). I do understand you here. He sometimes feels a bit clunky.
In general your idea of adding N'Zoth, God of the Deep is really cool :D
Please tell me how it works out for you ;).
I replaced Tuskiercer with Baron Rivendare and I love this deck!
Hi Awikun :),
i feel happy for you :D
Baron Rivendare was in the very first version of this deck at the beginning of the expansion :)
At that time i replaced him very quick because often times he didn't do the things i want him to do ;). But who knows? Maybe he could be viable now or lead to funny situations :)
Please tell me, how he is performing for you^^
Wish you good luck :)
It works nicely in middle or even better late game. However it often is an overkill to games that I would win anyway but sometimes he can save me from loosing.
Nice to hear! Maybe i will try him again and see how it goes :)
Thx for your comment.
I like it. Indeed Priest was a waste of time. I was crushed by the typical secret libram Pally though. Don't see how this deck is favored.
Hi Raboune,
if they draw their Lady Liadrin early and have played a few Libram of Wisdom it can be very hard vs them. Pen Flinger is still a pain with these cards. For sure you can draw poorly vs Paladin and you instant lose :(
But all in all this deck is favoured against them because normally you fight better for Board then them.
Maybe you can show me the replay vs the Paladin you played. It is very important when to trade and when to go face with this deck.
I will show you some games vs Libram Paladin:

Tried this deck. Lost aggainst No Spell Mage (frickin Lunacy random shit), Yogg Druid (literally taken down by Yogg), and Nzoth DH....
Hi Arci :),
No Minion Mage can be in pain in the ass if they draw 2 Incanter's Flow early and draw well after this. I have lost many games vs this deck. But all in all this deck seems to be favoured. I even managed to have a positive winrate when Deck of Lunacy was at 2 mana. I will share some more replays of me playing vs No Spell Mage. Maybe this can give you an idea on how to play against them.
I didn't play vs any Yogg Druid, so i can't tell something here. But i Think that it has to be a winnable matchup.
Vs Nzoth DH i have replays too. If they Highroll on their deathrattles and have Death Speaker Blackthorn on 7 it can be very hard. But again, i have a positive winrate vs them. I will show you some games of me,
Maybe you can show your games too and i can watch these to help :).
A wise man told me that sometimes you lose and sometimes your opponent wins :D

Hey, m8, thx for so detailed reply:). I hate to blame my loses on unlucky moments, cause I know, I'm not the best player here. But I really felt, like I was out of luck in those games. Espacially aggainst mage. I was controlling the game, pushing every turn, and with only 5 health and only one card my opponent took spring water, destroyer my two big minions with deathrattle (two 9/5), and their second version (5/9), and added two big minions on his board.... And that was it... Druid on the other hand because of ramping in mid game, and late game just controled everything... And N'zoth DH was just better at controlling board, and after I finally took advantage, he went with N'zoth and that was it....I'm not saying your deck is bad, or something. I just couldnt feel proper tempo of it, and propably messed some turns. I can't show you my games, cause I deleted deck from hs and deck tracker (trying to have array in DT). I switched right now the Nzoth DH. I will watch your replays, and maybe learn a bit more, and try one more time. Thanks one more time for your replay, and great work with the deck, and explanations.
Cheers:)
Hi again :);
i didnt't understand your comment the way that you blame the deck ;). I know that it REALLY can be frustrating to play against No Minion Mage :D. As i said i often got highrolled too and scammed with his last cards :(.
My last game was vs a No Minion Mage. I slaughtered him for you ;)
https://hsreplay.net/replay/GEg6n2isJ6mLganovDhQui
Versus Druids which use ramps you will have a hard time too, if they have the early ramp into Guardian Animals.
I think it's a general problem that these decks are highrolly. If they draw the nuts there is nothing you can do about this.
I have played more then 300 games with this deck and i'm still missplaying in some situations :D I'm on your side :P
Thanks for your comment too and enjoy the N'zoth Deathrattle Hunter, it's really a cool deck!
See you ;)
Thank you :)
Well done! Very in-depth! I particularly like Highmane
Thank you :)
