hi everyone
I did several important changes but if you're interested in the old version of the deck check out revision history.
Very, very fun deck, a lot of amazing mana cheating and not bad winrate (7:3 on legend but with easy matchups)
Notice that, 5 legendaries are free, and 3 are in every reno deck, so there aren't that many legends (some of them are not necessary).
The main idea of the deck is to don't pay mana for your cards (the cheaters are Scabbs Cutterbutter, Heistbaron Togwaggle, Galakrond, the Nightmare), create some miraculous value and have a lot of fun.
Also, if someone is interested in completing achievements then i've done that "play 12 cards in single turn" one with this.
If there will be something like 10 upvotes, i will write some guide and share some cool replays.
Replays:
- The reason for playing Silas Darkmoon; https://hsreplay.net/replay/6mprUAEFjySV84YHaJQF5C (big priest)
- Turn 4 32/32 (don't try this at home): https://hsreplay.net/replay/9PXg6idDayfwicj3DBqjs2 (quest rogue)
- Turn 8 miracle; https://hsreplay.net/replay/HfNADGF4D3aDgWHjjtrMeN (darkglare warlock)
Guide:
Mage: For combo mage we have the same tactics like in every control deck; crush them in the midgame with big Edwin or Dirty Rat into win condition. Like in any control deck, it's a coin flip. Also try to steal their Ice Block with Kezan Mystic and eventually win the game by healing with Reno. For secret mage, trigger Counterspell with some little spell, then Vanish. The most important card here is Reno Jackson so if you have coin, keep him in mulligan.
Druid: Mulligan for token druid. look for anything cheap. if you survive first 3 turns, you should be fine. Celestial druid is very tough. Try Dirty Rat into WC or playing Alekzstrasza after Celestial.
Priest: For big priest just watch first replay and try to do the same. For reno we have that ambushes and rat. If he don't draw ambushes, he's chained like Raza the Chained, if he does, then we have nice pressure.
DH: Odd plays no cards that are more expensive than 3, so just find backstab in mulligan, draw reno and it's a win.
Hunter: Every hunter (except my deathrattle reno hunter) is lame so if it's aggro, all you have to do is play reno on time, if it's some control, you probably have better deck.
Paladin: For handbuff try to crush him with early edwin couse he can't kill it. if you don't draw him, then just hope he won't fill his hand with shit and won't buff them a lot.
Shaman: For murloc you almost have to have zephrys into crab on turn 3. the first 4 turns are defining. you can't let him buff 3< murlocs.
Rogue: If it's Kingsbane, try to keep destroing his weapon with multiple Zephs. If it's odd then it's like odd dh.
Warrior: For pirates, find backstab (or Vendetta if you can trigger it) or Zeph in mulligan. You can easily overrun him with early edwin cause he don't have tools to kill him so he will lose tempo.
Warlock: Silas Darkmoon for he's big stuff. Warlock is probably the best opportunity to do some CRAZY plays.
BFFs:
Okay I love fun decks that use WTF cards, so when I opened Scabbs a couple hours ago, I totally thought I'd give this a try. Unfortunately... I don't have Dragonqueen Alexstrasza (don't judge me) and I don't really want to craft a wild card. I know it's powerful, but still, any idea for a replacement? I was thinking Sonya Shadowdancer but I really don't know :-/
Well, you need some high value card for a lategame so maybe just choose one Yogg Saron, maybe add that secret guy and some secrets.
Yeah, don't have any of those either, but thanks for the tip ;)
Never got Reno, wonder how to replace him
Sorry, but Reno Jackson is irreplaceable.
This deck is too expensive to its viability. There are cheaper rogue decks like mill rogue and quest rogue that will give you more wins. Think it is sort of fun if you play this deck casually but don't try to use this deck to get to legend in ranked.
that's quite obvious it's not the best rogue deck. i guess everybody already knows where to find decks with the highest wr and full stats but i have this big old collection, some cool ideas for highlander decks and i'm sure there are many people, bored with cheap stupid aggro, looking for something more fun. i quess i did it right cause the deck is already third most liked wild deck this month.
I just have a particular gripe with Galakrond Rogue because just how expensive it is and how perfect you need your curve to be to make the deck playable. It is so stressful with Galakrond rogue because you are always hoping to draw your Galakrond cards early and to use Galakrond to draw the high cost/combo cards to win the game with value but more than 90 percent of the time it is quite the opposite case. I just don't like decks in which every turn you are hoping that you don't draw that one card. Also rogue has such better/more fun decks out there for lower the dust cost like mill rogue and in hearthstone the lower the cost the better so as a new player you don't regret spending all that money to get a deck that you find out is not even that good/fun. Mill rogue is my favorite deck so as a rogue player (despite my name) I take all rogue decks I see to a more higher standard and critique. Congrats on making it to the third most like wild deck this month. Just made a deck list myself and really hoping for it to get even a little attention and I know how it feels to have something you made get such great appeal.
i wouldn't say it's that much about galakrond. he's rather a sidekick if you don't draw togwaggle actually and there are way more options to win. i assume nobody will spend that much dust to craft any deck just like that. if someone's gonna play this, then probably they're missing up to 3 legends. i don't consider this deck as a rogue deck but a reno deck. i actually don't like any non reno decks (especially mill rogue but i assume it's more fun if it's you who burns the cards).
Who cares about that? it's a wild deck, it's fun and it's a rogue deck.
If you want a cost effective deck to level up go play pirate warrior on standard or whatever cancer deck is played now on that mode.
Pretty cool deck. :D
After getting smacked by a Pirate Warrior in my first game, I then pulled off this ridiculous combo... Heistbaron Togwaggle into Wondrous Wand into C'Thun, the Shattered AND Tenwu of the Red Smoke for 60 face damage in one turn against some Odd Armor Warrior. Maybe add that to your BFFs list, ha. Although that definitely requires a bit of luck.
i agree, not always you get so lucky, sometimes you even can't do much, but for those couple of "that games", i think it's worth it and if you can play control decks then wr should be pretty nice.
half of the deck is orange wtf
and almost half of this half is free.
nice, we "only" need to craft 7 legendaries then xD
Unless, somehow you already have 3 highlander legendaries..
since i dont have edvin i threw in Malevolent strike, costs only 1 mana because of c'thun cards
that's very good replacement, although if you're enjoying this deck, then you better craft him when you have dust. He really can win games.
