This is the absolute perfect deck to counter the current meta, and it was the deck that finally got me my "12 Ranked Wins In A Row" achievement.
Look to keep the board clear in the early game while you gather the pieces for the final burst.
If you are clever, you can save either the Lightning Blooms, or use
Primordial Studies to lower the cost of your Spell Damage minions as needed.
Ideally, you can burst with:
Rune Dagger
Lightning Bloom
Bru'kan
Novice Zapper
Novice Zapper
Diligent Notetaker
Lightning Bolt
Lightning Bolt
Lightning Bolt
For a grand total of 27+ damage (depending on what is on the board).
The opponent literally never seems to see this coming and the amount of times they have celebrated having an overwhelming board with threatening lethal and emote-spammed while I proceeded to deal 24+ damage to their face in response is glorious! :-)
So far, I have not seen another soul playing this type of deck on the ladder, so it's also helpfully new to the meta, which aids in it's unpredictability.
ur just bad, im 9-3 with this deck
LOL? Flood the board? With what?
Minions. Thats what you usually use.
What minions? You have no flooding minions in this deck. You can hardly have more than three at most. And I am the one who is trolling???
Consider this for a moment:
I created a deck
I am making that deck public for others to use and try out
I am patiently trying to help those who are not having as much success with the deck as others.
I am willing to offer advice and tips where possible to help others enjoy the deck.
That hardly seems like trolling to me.
There are minions in the deck. All minions can be used to fill the board.
It is not a "zoo" deck, so you won't have endless minions to play (which seems to be where your confusion lies here). It is not a deck that relies on steamrolling the opponent with minions. Instead, you should use the minions you have to keep the pressure on the opponent each turn (also known as tempo-flooding). The resources are there in the deck. You just need to use them patiently and in a considered manner to reach the end goal.
In fairness though, it's maybe not a deck for everyone to be able to use. If you are used to aggro decks that play out your hand and expect the deck to refill your hand the next turn, it won't work for you. This deck requires a little more skill than that to play.
Ignore fabjx, he thought sigil of silence was good and flamed me for saying my opinion . this is just how he talks to everyone
Yea it the deck really does demand some skill. I'm quite new and trying this deck. Getting bonked a lot, but just keep practicing.
Steamrolled by warlock and paladin
How come?
Some details would maybe help us figure out what went wrong.
I've not been beaten once by a paladin with this deck yet, so I wonder if I can offer some thoughts on how you can do that. Just need to know what you struggled with first.
For Warlock, see my reply to Razor below.
I have a hard time believing you've never been beaten by paladin without a single copy of devolving missiles. It must be a Z league of paladins the one you're playing in
Well, I went on a 12-0 streak in Diamond (which got me the achievement finally) in a meta that is currently 70-80% Paladin decks (I probably faced 5+ paladins on the way). So I don't know what else to tell you on that one.
You may believe whatever you choose. :-)
But the deck works if played correctly.
I was wondering if it would be possible for you to post a video on how to play this deck.
The problem I am having right now,is having the right cards at the right time.
This deck by nature is slow.Waiting for enough damage to burn your opp and keeping the board clear.
Warlock having all that heal for me is a big problem.
I really like this concept and you seem to have a handle on it.
So any help would be greatly appreciated.Ty!
Hmm. I'm not sure about making a video, as I don't really have the equipment for that sort of thing. (Or, probably more truthfully, the time to make it - family man, etc etc).
But I'm more than happy to try and give some tips on how to play it and dealing with different situations that come up.
Having the right cards at the right time is a tricky one, mostly because I suppose that relies heavily on RnG in your favour to an extent. That said, there are also ways to improve this for yourself. While every situation is different (and there may be some times that it is simply not going to go in your favour - it happens), I have found that you need to try and judge when to use clearances etc. Don't rush to clear the board every turn, especially if the damage incoming is low and you can delay another turn.
Look to remove primary danger targets when they appear (like that windfury murloc, etc).
A heal-heavy deck is going to prove tricky, but what I have found that works against Warlock is simply flood the board (within reason - don't empty your hand on one turn. Be aware of their removal).
If you maintain a constant amount of little pressure, they struggle to know when to board wipe, and that trickle of damage will kill them in the end as they get within burst range.
Also, most low-skilled warlock players have a habit of spamming that Hero Power which is a death trap against decks like this.
If there's any other help I can offer, let me know.
Maybe I will see if I can find some time to do a video on this at the weekend perhaps, after all. Will see. :-)
Thank you so much for taking out the time in your busy day to respond to my post.
Your advice on playing warlock makes a ton of sense. And I’m going to apply that advice when I face them… Which seems to be every other game… I’m sure it’s not that much but It sure seems like it!… Thanks again!
More than happy to help! Good luck with the deck and have fun! :-)
I respect this deck a whole lot because a) I love Shaman :)
and b) I tried a similar list when FitB first came out, and it was absolutely glorious. I included Doomhammer as well, though, as a last resort type of thing, but it seems like that's not needed at all here.
What I really like about this list is the Primordials + Tidal Wave! That is a great idea. Really want to try this out now.
Just wondering, how is Lady Vashj in this deck? I feel like whenever I run her, she never seems to come through for me when I need her most and then I just regret including her :(
I can say that if I have a Primordial Studies on turn 1, and Lady Vash appears, I always, and I mean ALWAYS take here for a solid turn 2 play.
I think she would find a good place in this deck as well if needed - you could ditch the Thalnos perhaps?
I would certainly consider slotting her in for a turn.
That said though, she's not a "must-have" and that's possibly why I have sort of left her out for now.
Hmm - I have personally found them a Godsend against decks like Secret Paladin, and recently for Frenzy Warrior, myself.
It does have some card draw, such as BloodMage Thalnos, however I have honestly found it not to be necessary most of the time. Usually card draw is required for fast-cycling of the deck, which is not really needed in this deck since you often have things to work with as long as you use your resources wisely.
The benefit of the Primordial is less in the 8-drop it provides than the fact that it tutors out the 8-mana life-replenishing god-card. It has single-handedly won me almost every game against token or aggro decks. The extra 8-drop is really just a win-more and it would still be good even if it just drew me the card, to be fair.
The acidic swamp ooze isn't needed. That needs to go. The deck has no card draw, but that isn't your fault. Blizzard just refuses to give any sort of card draw to shaman. You are better off with loot hoarders even than acidic swamp ooze. You probably also don't want primordials but rather taleon fordring in order to pull your prime, because that's about all the draw you have. The problem with primordial is 8 drop minions arnt insanely good like 5 drops, but they are alright. There are some high rolls like plagued photodrake though! Supreme Abyssal usually feels bad lol. Arcane devourer isn't the worst though. You definitely have some low rolls too. Beastmaster, cenarius, natalie seline. The others arn't too bad though, so I do get it.
